He doesn't plan to get involved in the investigation for personal reasons, but Dumbledore shows interest, so the Order offers up its protection services. Kingsley understands honour, perserverance and dedication. He follows orders well, and takes on responsibity, but he sees himself through this unexpected charge. The Wizarding world is collaspsing around him and he already covers up his own tracks. He reflects on this fine line between dedication and temptation.
