Student and huge Harry Potter fan who's gutted it's all going to be over with Deathly Hallows Part 2. So, until J. K. Rowling decides to write some sequels, thought I might have a go...

To keep things 'simple' in my stories, I have set pieces of my canon that run through several, if not all, of my stories. Here are some of the most important:

Albus Potter and the Midnight Thief and A Rose By Any Other Name use the same OC characters and are part of the same universe, only set several years apart from each other, although the themes are very different.

Teenage Kicks Also uses the same OCs as my two other Next Generation fics, mentioned above. However, the storyline is not compatible with A Rose By Any Other Name, though many of my canon facts remain the same.

My Dramione fics Jar of Hearts and The Hardest Thing are compatible, but Resisting the Fall and The Runaway, my other Dramione fics are not compatible, and the latter disregards the epilogue entirely while the other three remain as canon compliant as possible.

Some facts, I keep the same throughout all my fics. Such as, in all of my fics featuring Draco Malfoy, he has since left the Manor and lives in Tarasque Hall and also has a House-Elf called 'Gil'. This does not mean that all of my fics featuring Draco are set in the same universe.

A minor one, but one that I mention in both my fics Someone Like You and The Runaway, is that in my head-canon, Neville and Luna spent some time as a couple after the war for a period of 18 months-2 years.

I think that's it...I hope that's vaguely coherent and helps those who were wondering about the various universes of my fics!

The Christmas Truce by Alice Mac

Summary: 'Tis the season to be jolly - or so the saying goes.

For them it is a time for war; a time for battle strategy and constantly looking over your shoulder.

She thinks there is always time for Christmas - the childish part inside of her that still believes in miracles does, anyway. He thinks she's wrong - but then, he always does.

The Runaway by Alice Mac

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: When you are carried away with your worries, fears, cravings, anger, and desire, you run away from yourself and you lose yourself. The practice is always to go back to oneself. - Thich Nhat Hanh

He has been running for as long as he can remember - then again, that isn't saying much.

Her job is to get him to stop - which is easier said than done. But it is him and her - it was never going to be easy.

We Happy Few by Alice Mac

Rated: 6th-7th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: "Neither can live while the other survives."

She often thought on that - ever since she heard it in Harry's hushed tones. Maybe before that even. Not in the exact sense, of course - she would not claim the powers of a Seer (Merlin forbid). But something close to it, maybe - a strange, half-formed thought; ethereal and not quite tangible.

She sometimes tried to think about what it meant - she spent many hours puzzling over it, in fact. She always was one to think of all the possible outcomes. And think she did. And imagined and theorised and wondered and dreamt.

Never once did she imagine this.

Albus Potter and the Midnight Thief by Alice Mac

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •

However, in due course, Albus will discover that there are those who would wish differently. As Albus and his friends Rose, Frank, Effie, Theron, Xander and the mysterious Tristan make their way through the year they slowly discover who is friend and who is foe and most importantly, that not everyone is as they seem...

One, Two, Three by Alice Mac

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: Have you ever been a part of something? I have - we were one, two, three together. Three pieces of a rather small jigsaw puzzle. But we were solid, strong and we felt untouchable.

Do you believe in 'forever?' I did. But then, I could be quite arrogant at times.

Paint Her Black by Alice Mac

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: There are so many colours in the world - so many in her. Only one evades her. But then, maybe she evades it.

Lily Evans always was too good for Black.

Out of the Woods by Alice Mac

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Before: Wife of a strong, powerful man, mother of a bright, beautiful son, lady of the Manor, proud, fulfilled, content, respected.

After: Wife of a weary, downtrodden man, mother of a scared, lost boy, slave, ashamed, miserable, afraid, disregarded.

It started with him and damn it all if I'll let him finish it too.

The Question by Alice Mac

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary:

A voice said, Look me in the stars,

And tell me truly, men of earth,

If all the soul-and-body scars,

Were not too much to pay for birth - Robert Frost

Have you ever wondered if it's all worth it? The pain; the suffering; the torment; the misery; the loss? I do - everyday. Not my own - that of my son. My little boy. For me, that makes the question that much harder.

Grounds for Divorce by Alice Mac

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Some, when sitting as I am now, ponder how they have arrived in this place. They do not recognise themselves, let alone the person sitting opposite them. That isn’t the case with me. There is no mystery; there is no question.

It was me - all me. Well, me and him.

Their Affliction by Alice Mac

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Love - that's what Albus thinks sets us apart. The ability to love and the power that it gives you.

I disagree: I think it's hate. Hate is pure, fierce and unyielding. It courses through you like fire and invests you with its strength. Hate guards you from other people - it protects you. If all you feel is hate, you have nothing to lose. You are untouchable.

Love drains you. It forces you to care about others and their welfare and if they are harmed...well, then it brings grief, anguish and pain that rivals any curse. Love reels you in with its sweetness, comfort and passion and then destroys you with its absence. It is crueller than any curse. It is the Gryffindor affliction.

Teenage Kicks by Alice Mac

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Aged sixteen, their parents were being relentlessly pursued by Voldemort and attempting to deliver the Wizarding World from an evil tyrant. They fought against far older and more experienced wizards to bring about their victory and create a safer world for their children; to give them the normal childhoods they were deprived of.

Aged sixteen, their children are fighting, but against themselves. They battle against their own self-destructive nature and their foreign, inexplicable feelings. They wrestle with the pressures of friendships, family, relationships and work. They fight to keep secrets buried and to keep their friendships once the secrets are revealed.

Whoever said 'normal' was easy?

There's A Light That Never Goes Out by Alice Mac

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: To die by your side, well the pleasure; the privilege is mine - The Smiths

War is not a place for children. But then, is it a place for anyone?

Colin Creevey may be a child and not the most threatening weapon the Light has to offer. But he has weapons of his own; bravery; heart; loyalty; spirit, enthusiasm; love - he has them all in abundance and doesn't know if they're enough but it doesn't matter.

Because he needs this - to be a part of something. To help take back what was taken from them. And if he doesn't make it, he leaves them without regret. Because he was right where he needed to be; next to the people he needed to be with.

This story has been nominated for a 2012 Quicksilver Quill Award in the category Best General Story

Lie To Me by Alice Mac

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: "I have given away my whole soul to someone who treats it as if it were a flower to put in his coat, a bit of decoration to charm his vanity, an ornament for a summer's day." - Oscar Wilde

The engagement of Draco Malfoy and Astoria Greengrass is one that is celebrated by both their families and friends, greeted by indifference by those who don't know or like them and anger and hurt by one.

The Hardest Thing by Alice Mac

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: He prayed that she would say something - anything to appease Bellatrix. But she did not - that infuriating, idiotic, beautiful, courageous, stubborn, uncontrollable bint. He had never loved her more.

One of the hardest things in this world is to watch someone you love experience unimaginable pain and be powerless to stop it. But if you did have some power - any at all - to take that pain away, would you use it, even at the risk of your own life? Would you defy your allies - your family - to help someone who is supposed to be an enemy? Or would you do nothing - like the coward everyone assumes you are?

Draco Malfoy was tired of being a coward.

Resisting the Fall by Alice Mac

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: "Tis one thing to be tempted, another thing to fall..." - William Shakespeare
Draco Malfoy can resist everything except temptation...and a glass of Firewhisky or two. Perhaps, then, he should not have taken his biggest temptation to a bar for their work conference.

A Rose By Any Other Name by Alice Mac

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Four Valentine's Day balls. Four very different encounters.

Scorpius Malfoy and Rose Weasley could never exactly be accused of getting along, but four days over four years test the nature of their relationship. From hatred, to sympathy, to attraction, to perhaps something deeper, Scorpius and Rose find themselves in uncharted territory. Can they rise above their ingrained dislike for one another? Or will their prejudices keep them from realising the true reason they can so easily get under each other's skin?

Someone Like You by Alice Mac

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited

But I couldn't stay away - I couldn't fight it

I hoped you'd see my face and that you be reminded

That for me, it isn't over yet

Jar of Hearts by Alice Mac

As Draco works up the courage to explain himself to Granger, he thinks back to the start of it all and how they used to be. Will he be able to persuade her to come back to him? Or is he so far down the path of no return that redemption is no longer an option?
