Comfort and Joy by Luna_Lover

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: It's Christmas Eve, 1998, and Harry Potter is throwing a pity party. You could argue that Harry Potter is more justified than most in throwing such a party. Severus Snape, however, would be inclined to disagree with you.

Master Barty Regrets by Equinox Chick

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: At the Yule ball in 1994, Harry watches Mad-Eye Moody clump across the floor with a long-suffering Professor Sinistra. What no one knows, however, is that the dancer is Barty Crouch.

This poem was for a challenge in Poetry Anyone. We had to use music from the films as inspiration for a poem. I chose two pieces from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - the waltz and 'Do the Hippogryff' by The Weird Sisters.

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling, Jarvis Cocker or any type of musician.

Dead Wands, Wand Shops and Magical Phrasebooks by Sainyn Swiftfoot

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary:

Marty Pyttin's wand is broken. It does not work as well as it used to. It does not please him any more. He takes it down to Ollivander's-- who, unfortunately, is dead, decased, ceased to be, and has left his rather incapable assistant, Ollivander Jr. in charge of Britain's best wand shop.

A mash-up, mix-up and rip-up, er, off of the legendary Monty Python sketches Hungarian Phrasebook, Cheese Shop and Dead Parrot, set in the wizarding world. Irrevocably silly.

An Unusual Romance by FawkesToTheRescue

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Late one night, Hermione notices something outside that gets her thinking . . . what will happen now? A sort of parody of a Dramione romance. Thanks to my fantabulous beta Natalie/hestiajones (the beta who won the QSQ award!) You did a great job, even though I'm such a bad writer. This is a Christmas present for August for the 2010 Gryffindor Christmas Swap! Hope you like it August! My writing is bad, but hey, it's the thought that counts! You deserve better than this fail of a story . . .

And I Step Forward by hogwartsbookworm

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: “Do you trust me, Alice?”

After all this strange talk of magic, and wizards, and schools I’ve never heard of, and invisible worlds? I bite my lip. I want, so badly, to say that I trust him. It would have been true up until last night.

I look him in the eyes. I almost think I can see his soul there.

I nod.

Still holding my hand, he steps forward. I close my eyes and allow him to tug me along.

A Muggle bride's thoughts about her Wizarding groom and the journey that has brought them to this day.

I Believed in Lily Evans by Equinox Chick

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Christmas 1976 and Severus Snape sits in his room with only his thoughts to keep him company.

I am Equinox Chick from Hufflepuff, and this is my entry for the Extra Credit in the Great Hall Christmas Challenge.

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling or Greg Lake. (I never thought I'd ever type that sentence.) Please don't confuse us.
