The Untrodden Path by Equinox Chick

Rated: 6th-7th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: Draco Malfoy -avid Death Eater, proud and eager to be of use to the Dark Lord. Or desperate boy willing to do anything to save his family from dishonour and his father from death? Perhaps both.

What if there'd been another way? What if the road he's taking could diverge and lead him on a different journey? His path is set, he thinks... but then he collides with an insignificant girl and his world changes.

This story is for Julia (the opaleye) whose poetical skill with words leaves me breathless. It is also her 21st birthday. Apologies that I didn't use your fabulous alternate title 'An Act of Selecting or Making A Decision When Faced With Two or More Possibilities?'

Disclaimer: Much as I'd love to be JK Rowling, I'm not :(

Thank you Kara for beta'ing this and minna for mentioning the Robert Frost poem 'The Road Not Taken,' from which I've taken some lines.

** indicates lines taken from Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire.

A Rose By Any Other Name by Alice Mac

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Four Valentine's Day balls. Four very different encounters.

Scorpius Malfoy and Rose Weasley could never exactly be accused of getting along, but four days over four years test the nature of their relationship. From hatred, to sympathy, to attraction, to perhaps something deeper, Scorpius and Rose find themselves in uncharted territory. Can they rise above their ingrained dislike for one another? Or will their prejudices keep them from realising the true reason they can so easily get under each other's skin?

Perish the Universe by lucilla_pauie

Rated: Professors •
Summary: Perish the universe provided I have my revenge. - Savinien Cyrano de Bergerac

Heaven has no wrath like grief to rancor turned, nor hell a fury like a parent anguished.

In 2010, Britain was rocked by the unsolved disappearance of a little girl, daughter to Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy.

In 2011, America is rattled by a series of scattered and strange crimes, cold cases before the corpses even cooled.

A story of Draco and Hermione on a journey of vendetta, and a journey back to each other.

Mad-Eye by Ithinkrabis2people

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Ever wondered what exactly Moody did to the witch who shouted "Boo!" behind him on April Fool's Day? Well, it turns out he made her an Auror...

[Sexual Situations waring is for mild innuendo at one point - just to be on the safe side!]

The MacGuffin Hunt by Inverarity

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Draco has one key to Helga Hufflepuff's Three Lock Box, and Harry has another. Harry and Pansy both have a brilliant idea, and it doesn't involve teaming up to find the third because that wouldn't be as amusing.

Second chance: The Dragon and the Lioness by Vginny

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: After the end of Voldemort, a new academic year has started at Hogwarts with Harry, Ron and Hermione as NEWT students. Most of the Slytherins have not returned but Draco Malfoy has. His arrogance and self righteousness have gone along with the vanished honor of his family in the wizarding community. He is woken from a dream to face reality with burning desire to regain his lost pride, with no short cuts this time. Will he be given the chance to prove himself? Hermione does not know how much her decision is going to change both their lives forever.

Hell and High Water by Misdemeanor1331

Rated: Professors •
Summary: Life’s choices are unfair, difficult, and occasionally impossible. But to stand in inaction is to perish, and to perish is to fail. What determines survival, and ultimately success, is one’s ability to adapt to the consequences of the action taken, regardless of whether it’s right or wrong.

Bleed by hestiajones

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Say you were in love with somebody for years, somebody who just left without telling you why. Say she turned up unexpectedly. What would you do?

This is a sequel to Cut

Disclaimer:

1) This is not J.K.Rowling.

2) I chose Turner's first name after a villain from Eoin Colfer's Artemis Fowl series, but the character is not entirely based on her.

3) One of Gimli's lines from Return of the King will appear in the last chapter. No, it is not "There's plenty enough for the both of us. May the best dwarf win." Yes, it means I have finished writing the whole story. :)

Mind by Lovemagic

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: The vital Battle of Hogwarts is abruptly put to an end by an intruder and an incident. Opening his eyes, Lord Voldemort finds his identity has been obliterated; he is now young Tom Riddle. He and the intruder Bella Reagan, someone he knew so long ago, must find a way to live, survive—but not quite underground.

After much frenzy, the Ministry states that the Dark Lord is gone and continues rounding up many confused, chaotic Death Eaters. Minerva McGonagall, the Headmistress, requires Hogwarts students to repeat their previous year so as to receive competent magical education. So when Harry recognizes Tom Riddle, he believes Lord Voldemort has infiltrated Hogwarts and leads an urgent investigation to find the truth of things.

Tom and Reagan are under scrutiny of the Trio and the professors even as several notorious Death Eaters elude capture and more old acquaintances, by happenstance, are found again. Security must be built by any means, and the opposition’s threats held at bay. There are few people any one can trust.

But it is as if they are looking through a veil, thinking through a veil. There’s a truth in the undercurrent of this unnatural flow of life in the Light, one that can’t seem to get past anyone’s mind. After all, the Light plays tricks, too.

Apple-bobbing by Equinox Chick

Rated: 6th-7th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: Lisa Turpin - new recruit to Dumbledore's Army - is determined to prove her worth to the team. But when Ginny Weasley informs her that her patrol partner has changed, she isn't at all happy. Susan Bones is not a girl she's had much to do with, for the Hufflepuff girl has never excelled at anything.

But can an hour on patrol, and an accident with a foul smelling egg change things between them?

This story was an emergency fic for Natalie's birthday (in case I pulled the other one), but is also a Halloween tale about life under Snape and the Carrows. I have to thank Alex (welshdevondragon) for beta'ing and being AIM available for a chat.

Disclaimer: I'm not JK Rowling. You know that, don't you?

Happily Ever After by welshdevondragon

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Vivien Nott, Paris and Theodore Nott’s adopted daughter, is at Hogwarts at the same time as Petra and Ernie Macmillan’s son, Augustus Macmillan. They know of each other, but they rarely come into contact. Until an incident in the Quidditch changing rooms leads their lives to become closely entwined.

This is a fairy tale. But, sometimes, fairy tales do happen.

This is a very loose sequel to my Thin Red Lines Series, though it is not part of that series.

Due to the current glitch, I have changed the rating to 3rd-5th years BUT this is a 6th-7th years story, and therefore should be read as such.

Stars or Carousels by Equinox Chick

Rated: Professors •
Summary: If you’re smart and funny, you’re popular. Add some undeniable good looks, and you become very popular.

A hero who will always get the girl.

But for James Sirius Potter, the girl he wants is unobtainable.

This is a present for Natalie (hestiajones) because not only is it her birthday, but she’s a fantabulous friend and an all round amazing person. (and I hope she doesn’t mind what I’ve done ... eeeep)

It’s possible that this pairing may squick you out. I appreciate people have different thoughts on this but advise you to keep an open mind until the end of the story.

Due to a VERY annoying glitch in the archives that won;t let readers access stories above 3rd-5th, I have TEMPORARILY lowered the rating. This story is STILL a PROFESSORS story. You click at your own risk.

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling, but if I were, then I’d be living in a huge house in London, with a basement, for teh flist, and buying Alex Turner especially for Natalie.

Winner of the Best Chaptered Next Generation Story in the 2012 QSQ awards. Thank you :D

Incorrigible by Gmariam

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: It's Halloween and the Head Boy and Head Girl are stuck in the greenhouses for detention. Will they escape the clutches of the deadly Devil's Snare…or worse, one another?
A lighthearted tale for Halloween, not to be read in the greenhouse.

Don't Tell! by butter_beer_drinker

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:

Draco is apprehended by members of the Order and held for questioning. While Harry and Ron search for Horcruxes, Hermione has to stay behind and is asked to tend to their ‘guest’. After two months of confinement, a beaten down Draco and a frustrated Hermione start a tentative friendship, based entirely on loneliness. Draco is set free after agreeing to help the Order, but when Harry and Hermione are captured by Death Eaters, he has to decide whom he will betray, his master, or the girl he can’t stop thinking about.

I have made a few minor changes to chapter 9, I changed the direction of the end of the story so it was neccassary.  Chapter 10 is in the que now.

"Friendship is the hardest thing in the world to explain. It's not something you learn in school. But if you haven't learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven't learned anything."

-Muhammad Ali

Polyjuice Puzzle by goldensnidget92

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: It is a year after the legendary events of the Battle of Hogwarts, and Harry and Ron have discovered that life in the real world isn't half as exciting.

This leads to the rather unfortunate idea of using Polyjuice Potion to switch lives for a day, resulting in much hilarity and two very sticky situations, after which the two boys never see each other in quite the same way again.

This story was nominated for a Quicksilver Quill Award 2012: Best Humour Story

Violets by armagod679

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Quirinus Quirrel is obsessed with flowers, Defense Against the Dark Arts, and the girl with the violet-blue eyes.

Key of the Door by Equinox Chick

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: At the age of twenty, Ron Weasley has a good career, a wonderful girlfriend and a flat of his own. But when he wakes up one morning, shortly before his twenty-first birthday, nothing can quite dispel the gloomy cloud that's been stalking him.

Could a long lunch in the Leaky Cauldron rid him of this malaise?

This story has been written as a twenty-first birthday present for Hannah/Bob (coolh5000) who is one of the most wonderful people in the world.

Thank you to Natalie for beta'ing, Kara for the line about the Knight bus and Julia for the 'firecrotch'. (I hope you like Ron's revenge for the slur)

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling. She has the talent; I have the temerity to nick her characters.

Jar of Hearts by Alice Mac

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: What started out as a release from the misery of their lives grew into a symbiotic need for each other...perhaps even more than that. But his lies and his betrayal led to the end of them and his only solace.

As Draco works up the courage to explain himself to Granger, he thinks back to the start of it all and how they used to be. Will he be able to persuade her to come back to him? Or is he so far down the path of no return that redemption is no longer an option?

A Weekend by the Sea by CCMugg

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: After weeks of frustrating snoggus interruptus, Hermione and Ron try to get some much-needed alone time at Shell Cottage, where Fleur offers some sisterly advice and brings up some sweet memories for Hermione.
