Has this story been abandoned? It's really good, if you can find some spare time to write some more, it'd be amazing. You can even do little chapters, don't feel obligated to give us huge chapters if that's keeping you from writing.

Author's Response: No, this story has not been abandoned, though it probably appears that it has :-p I have dedicated my entire month of November to getting the last 50,000 words done on this story, and now, with a hug giddy sigh, I am finally finished. I have to ask everyone to wait a few more weeks as I get a chance to have things beta'd and go over them with a fine-toothed comb, but I promise by New Years at the very latest, there will be a new chapter.

I've been diligently following this story since, like, chapter 3 and I adore this story. Great work! But why, oh! WHY! haven't you posted an update in aaages, I'm positively crumbling of old age, here! *pokes her non-existent wrinkles and pouts*

And to leave us all hanging at such a time in the story, it's just pure torture! I have to say I've starting getting impatient with Hermione and all of her darned balking. I mean why torture such a gentlemanly, sweet and handsome man as Oliver Wood! I swear I'd shake her silly! Anyway, once again great work and hope to see an update soon :D

I'm really loving this fic, I see you've not updated for quite a while, hope that doesn't mean you won't be, I'd love to know where you're going with this. Does the conversation between the Malfoy's mean that the body Wood found in Norway was Voldemort's? And will Hermione and Wood start being honest with one another, or will this intriguing dance continue? I hope you'll go into further detail about this blood phenomenon and how it'd be possible to reprogramme somebody as the next dark lord. I wonder what the silver potion actually was that they forced into Voldemort's body? Oh, and are these attacks on children that appear to be carried out by Vampires really a smokescreen to cover the attempts to find a suitable child to programme? Sorry, I'm not making much sense, but there are so many questions, you're a brilliant author, always keeping the reader guessing. Oh, and I loved that rhym, I'd never heard the second verse before though, it's hilarious! I love how Wood's family members are so different, it's a little like the Weasley's in that they're all so individual too, but they're still all very unique. Ian sort of reminds me of Lupin, I think i like him best. Anyway, I'd best go now or I never will. Please update soon.

You know, when we were going over this chapter, I thought..."The title of this chapter sounds so familiar..." Of course, I'd read the same 'poem' you had to, or heard it somewhere and hadn't thought of it in years until you brought it back into my mind.

AND YAY! For this chapter! I love the descriptions in this story. It's quite wonderful to be able to see something as clearly as I see Wood Croft...and Cot Buin a’ Fiadhaiche Luchan. *cackles* Poor Hermione - everywhere she turns there is someone having a good laugh at her expense (most often me, really, but Oliver and the twins do get in their licks every now and again).

she could have done without Oliver’s mother, especially when, in her enthusiasm for grandchildren, she began nudging her son and making nodding motions to the bedroom as the family was preparing to leave for the night. Oh, how I adore you! How I adore you and your love for those little sentences that perhaps other people might not completely understand, but that amuse me to no end.

I left off raving about the pranks because it seems a trifle silly to praise things that I helped with...rather egotistical. But this - this I must comment on: Sometimes, Oliver was forced to wonder if it was just arrogance that had the wizarding community convinced the Muggles might plague them for magical solutions to every problem if the Statute of Secrecy were ever breached. From his experience, it seemed that it was the Muggles who provided most of the solutions, albeit unknowingly. More than clever enough by half, the magic folk might be in for a rather rude surprise to find that they might not really be needed. EXACTLY! How utterly brilliant of you dearest!

May I please drool at the image of a kilt-clad man digging a well? I mean, REALLY! Did you have to go and put that image in my head? *drools* And, moving on, to Hermione trying to ignore the clock...you know how she gets and you portray it so well. It's utterly adorable and perfectly in-character. It is the little things like that which make this story so believable.

And she just can't focus on her work without thinking about Oliver - and - *dies laughing* It's so wonderful...it's like 'Oh, how the mighty have fallen!" HAHAHAHAH! *shifty*

And I am re-reading the whole 'Oliver undressing/Kiss of the Highlander' scene and I'm laughing too hard to write anything at all legible...so you'll just have to know I love it. Actually...I'm not sure I can form a coherent sentence on the rest of the bloody chapter...I'd forgotten how incredibly hot that barn-kiss was...*fans self*

And the Draco bits that you throw in...delightful. The whole damn chapter is wonderful.

LOL! There is nothing funnier than drunken guys causing mayhem with all serious intentions. I love that that's how the "proposal" happened; it's good to see humor in this kind of plot that usually runs toward angst. And I just love your drunk Weasleys. I'm still laughing at "And he has no neck!" I did like the serious note about the war, too. I thought "It’s like we never won at all. Not really" was an interesting concept and gives a nice, unsettled backdrop to the story. Your writing style continues to be artful and your characters entertainingly realistic. Nice job!

This is fantastic! You have a beautiful writing style; the descriptions are rich and detailed, but it doesn't feel slow; it's savorable. I think you got some great character notes in here too. Percy especially; I don't know how much he'll factor into this story but you've already given us a good view of him. I liked his little game of doing the unexpected, and also how he continues to work nonstop but doesn't want to be Minister. Is he not as ambitious as we think or just more driven to support than lead? And I thought it was creepily appropriate that he would be the one to institute the Marriage Law. As someone who's shown that family is not on the top of his priority list, I can definitely see him finding the law reasonable and not horrifying. Oliver's reaction was much more like mine (and deliciously angry!Scottish), though I found it hard to see how he could concede that Percy had a point. No matter how badly the bloodline is suffering, I can't see him finding the law a reasonable measure, though I bet the wine, his tiredness, and Percy's diplomatic phrasings helped. You've definitely piqued my interest to see how it plays out and who will stand on which side of the law. Beautiful job with the prologue; I can't wait to see more!
