For some reason I was reminded of one of my biggest pet peeves--having someone read over my shoulder. It's bad enough when someone is merely reading something like a newspaper over my shoulder but I especially hate it if someone reads what I'm writing. It's like an invasion of my personal space. I can understand how Draco was really annoyed. Great chapter.
Wow, while I'm impressed with how far Draco went to gain the trust of everyone in the Burrow I almost wish he hadn't done that. Breaking one's wand in half is fairly dramatic. I guess I don't know if I'd do that. I'm with Narcissa--I wouldn't leave myself defenseless. At the same time I understand why he did it and I respect him for that. Great chapter.
I am so glad Draco made that last statement. In this case, I think the Dark Mark is nothing more than a tatoo. That was certainly unexpected--having the Malfoys go to the Burrow. I would think they'd be safe there. Sometimes we think of Molly as being a frumpy housewife but we forget she's a very powerful witch. After all, she's the one who eventually kills Bellatrix. Arthur isn't a weakling either, I'm sure. Great chapter.
For some reason it makes a lot of sense that Draco and Narcissa would go to Harry. It's strange that they just showed up at the Dursley's door though. I would've thought the actual house was warded. Draco was taking a risk since he didn't know Harry was there when Dumbledore died. I also think it's good that Draco actually pointed out that he hasn't had the best life either. Great chapter.
I'm not quite sure what happened. It looks like Lucius Crucioed Draco after silencing him--so his mother couldn't hear. I wonder why--unless it was to toughen him up. I think sometimes one has to go through a painful experience before one can appreciate it. If Draco is always protected and doesn't know pain, what will happen when the time comes for him to sacrifice. Great chapter.
I like the Ravenclaw possibility! Draco is smart enough to be in there. Hermonie and Ron, wow.......hot heads and totally on cue with their personalities. Can't wait to see where this goes!! Love it!

You've described a situation where Draco never really had a chance to take Dumbledore up on his offer. Once Snape and the other Death Eaters arrived there was no turning back. You've also provided the feeling of utter terror that both Draco and his mother must have had. They went to a place they were totally unfamiliar with and a place that they had once considered with such hatred and disdain that they had to humble themselves to an inconceiveable extent to be there. At the same time this was probably the only place that would accept them. Beggars can't be choosers, you know. Great chapter.

Great start. I saw that you updated so I thought I'd check this story out. I'm kind of a Draco fan. Or maybe I should say that I find the Malfoys fascinating. I think you've done a good job of describing the terror and the sickness that Draco must have felt on receiving the Dark Mark and his assignment. In so many ways, Draco's path was no easier than Harry's. Great chapter.

Wonderful chapter. Draco finally said the right thing at the right time. I think Narcissa and Molly may have a bit of a confrontation...but maybe it will all turn out for the better...
