Going into a werewolf camp doesn't seem like a very fun stakeout. I know they're not there for Auror entertainment but it sounds boring. I suppose there will be excitement and lots to do but also a lot of danger. I'd probably make a terrible Auror.

I wonder if George would ever had paid back i wonder if George would ever pay back Harry. Maybe Harry didn't need it but it was a nice gesture. If I were a Death Eater at-large I'd be terrified knowing Harry and his crew were after me. I'm surprised I haven't read this story earlier.

Author's Response: I don't think that Fred would have paid Harry back, except by offering free stuff. George, I'm not so sure about. The hunt for the escaped Death Eaters would, I think, take years. This is not my most popular story, I suspect one of the reasons is the disjointed way I chose to write it. -N-

When I started to plot this one, i knew that I wanted to flash back and forwards in time. I soon discovered that it isn't easy. I learned a lot while writing this one, particularly about plotting and flashbacks.

Although this story doesn't get the reads that "Grave Days" and "Strangers at Drakeshaugh" get, it's a story I'm proud of.

Man I take a few months off reading fanfiction (almost a year to be fair I was traveling a lot and had to focus more on finishing college) and you add some new stories and finally finish hunters and prey! I was really excited to see it was done and you did a great job!! I particularly liked how it ties all the gang together for this one. I especially think the Robards/Hannah relationship is great. Although I really enjoy your family stories, you tell the best auror office stories. Great job, can't wait to read the next one.

This story was an experiment on my part. When I planned it, I realised that if I wrote from beginning to end in a straight line it would be action/adventure in the werewolf village, Harry/Ginny angst in Scotland and action at the village (and elsewhere) again. By flipping between the two I could have a "action" chapter and a "relationship" chapter. I've learned a lot.

I had intended to finish this story in 2013 but personal issues over the summer delayed me and, in the end the chapters came in a bit of a rush (for me, anyway - I’m not fast). To be honest, the prologue, and chapters 1, 2, 4 & 5 of F&F have been substantially done for more than 12 months. (Chapter 3 needs a complete rewrite.) I am currently working on both Strangers and A&S (and Epithalamium, a bit), and I’ll be sending the first few chapters of F&F to my beta soon.

Good to see Terry Boot figure out Harry and Co. might have been a bit circumspect with regards to 'hunting' Finnella. Yup you can't find Harry's pad with out Ginny's help. Good chapter please Sir can we have more? Probably isn't the first time and won't be the last time Terry wonders what Harry's info flow priorities are. It is actually pretty simple who needs to know what and when does he need to get all the info to the DA (those Galleons still work).

Goyle killing Colin happened in "Tales of the Battle" so far as I know it's not canon. I'm pretty certain I made it up, mainly because JKR identified the Killers of Fred, Tonks, and Lupin.
