This was great! It's the first epistolary humour fic I've read in... er, eternity.

Also, I don't mean to sound heretic here, but was that partly inspired by Stroud? The "boiling your head" part and one or two of Percy's urbane replies?

Yours in readership,
Snake_of_Gryffindor

Author's Response: Um, I don't know what you mean by Stroud unless you mean the place in the UK, so no, it wasn't inspired by him/her or it. :). 'Boiling your head' is a phrase I think I picked up from Enid Blyton a few years ago, or something like that. Thank you very much for the review and I'm glad you liked the story. ~Carole~

This was very cute and definitely made me smile. I 'beleive' that this is my favourite Percy/Audrey I have read in a while! Although I like a good laugh, I don't generally go for humour fics, but I'm certainly glad I read this one. Great work!

Author's Response: OOOH, thank you. I have to confess that this was a dashed off drabble for SBBC that I expanded for the boards for minna. It had very little thought but a lot of love attached. I didn't sweat blood or tears, but did giggle. Perhaps that's the answer. Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the story. ~Carole~

Awwww!!!! I love this so much!! I hope you make a sequel or something!!! :D ~Sarah

Author's Response: OHHHH, thank youuuu. Hmm, I might write a sequel. I can see them communicating with letters quite eloquently and it could be fun. Thanks again! ~Carole~

Nice story. People who don't give up easily always seem to make good characters.

Author's Response: Thank you. Yes, I think both were pretty persistent in the end. ~Carole~

Right after the first letter signed 'P Weasley' I put two and two together and figured out who Audrey was, but it did not ruin the story at all. As always, great job! It has been my pleasure to leave you a 'reveiw'.

Author's Response: Yay, really pleased you liked the story. I had a lot of fun writing it. ~Carole~

*flails*

I'm so glad that we added Episotlary at the last minute because I absolutely adored this as a drabble and I love that you've expanded it for the archives.

Percy's development from being uptight and formal to his adorable way of asking Audrey out was great. Awww. It really felt like a Percy who was still the one we know in canon but who has also learnt some hard lessons from his wayward days post-DH. And, dare I say it, but you built up some fabulous chemistry, I was almost waiting for it to end with a post-coital love note or something.

And I also think you should write Unrobed by a Passionate Flame ;)

Julia x

Author's Response: I think I need to write that, too ...

Julia, thank you for the review. I'm sort of scratching my head in both bemusement and glee at the response this story has received because I was in two - or perhaps four- minds whether to bother sending the drabble in let alone expanding it into a one shot. However, it made me giggle when I was writing, and the idea of Audrey being unable to spell and also hiding her passion for witch-lit made me think she was the ideal wife for Percy.

Thank youuuuuu for the review. I am now planning my robe-ripping best seller! ~Croll~

I liked the development of Percy here - going from uptight and particular to warm (yet still Percy!), though I feel I should have guessed earlier that the Miss Cadwallader was in fact Audrey!

Made me smile :)

Author's Response: Ahhh, I didn't want you to guess who she was straight away - hee. Thank you very much for the review. It's much appreciated. ~Carole~

I love this.

I smile every time I read it and the parts you've added are pure perfection :). I love how Audrey is a Ravenclaw and still can't spell - one of the things I remember from the original that stood out to me - and I especially liked the addition of the 'Unrobed by a Passionate Flame' :D.

Great story, Carole! :)

Author's Response: Awwww, Ariana, thank youuuu. Yeah I liked the Unrobed book. I think Audrey is exactly the type of person who would refuse to admit she read rubbish, whereas I embrace my need for badfic smut - ha ha. I'm not sure any of the Ravenclaws agree with me about the spelling, though. They've yet to comment - eeeep.

Well done you on winning the comp. Your drabble was gorgeous! ~Carole~

Haha this made me laugh both times I read it, I'm so glad that you expanded it. I can totally imagine Percy corrected someone's spelling like that, and I like how you used a brainy Ravenclaw who can't spell. (I actually know someone like that, I must set Percy on her, mwhaha!) Anyway this was a great drabble and now it's a great one-shot, I love it!

That was really cute! It made me smile. :)
Percy with a roguish side? Well he is a Gryffindor after all! I thought that this was a good idea on how Percy and Audrey met, and the touch about Misuse of Muggle Artefacts was nice. (I've told you about this before somewhere, haven't I?)
And I always have trouble with 'i before e' so I could relate to Audrey a little bit there.

Author's Response: Well, as she points out, the i before e rule can't be followed all the time (weird, ancient, their - etc etc) but Percy is a stickler for the rules. This story was very much a story of fun, so I'm pleased you appreciated the lightness behind it. I possibly used the Misuse of Muggle Artefacts in a story about Arthur - not sure now. Thank you for reviewing. ~Carole~

Caroleee this was the one drabble I knew for certain I wanted to vote for in the Genre Battle - it really ticks all my boxes hehe. Love epistolaries, love Percy/Audrey, love snark, love poking fun at other peoples' SPAG. And this was so much fun! It made me giggle and made me squee. Percy is so adorable here...especially in the last letter, and Audrey is perfect! Gah. I love you, thank youu.

Author's Response: YAY! thank you for reviewing. I knew i had to expand this for you when you said you'd liked it, so that's what I did. It was a lot of fun to write as well, so I'm pleased it worked.

The Percy and Audrey here are quite different from my usual canon, but I rather liked the idea of a very brainy Ravenclaw being unable to spell. And Percy would correct her, wouldn't he - ha ha.

Glad you liked it and thanks for the review. ~Carole~
