I imagine myself near a lake
Sitting by a tree, in the distance
There’s a castle, from the outside
It might be something else entirely
If you don’t have magic within you

I walk away while my eyes
Point to my destination, Hogwarts
As I arrive I walk through the corridors
There’s classes filled with students
Learning spells and enchantments
I pass by the Great Hall
Where food is being placed on each house table
After several missed stairwells
I finally reach the Common Room
Where I feel I truly belong
And others are just like me
They imagine more than the average,
Have wisdom, and the thrill of learning knowledge
Though courage and bravery, I’ve always desired to have

That helps when saving a friend’s life,
Fighting evil, and creating adventures
With love, it gets us through everything

These moments are more than
The pages of my favorite books
They’re real, and can come to life
As I create magic within me
