This was written for a one-shot challenge. The prompt was 'Lessons Learned'. A note about the names... 'Evander' means 'a good man' in Roman mythology. 'Hel', in Scandinavian mythology, was a sibling of Fenrir and the queen of the underworld. For the sake of the story, Hel is a male. 'Monifa' in the language of Yaruba, means 'I am lucky.'
