Summary: A thousand years or more ago,
When I was newly sewn,
There lived four wizards of renown,
Whose names are still well known:
Gryffindor, strong and bold; Hufflepuff, just and patient; Slytherin, shrewd and cunning; and Ravenclaw, fair and wise. This much we know about the Hogwarts Four, whose endeavours have changed our lives so much. But the only one who knew them speaks only in song, and his job is to sort the new students--nothing more.
But deep within the library of Hogwarts, lies a book oft forgotten. Old and tattered, but with the words still shining bright, the ancient leather cover bears a name we all know well:
