Never Let Go by majestic_ginny

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary:
DAUGHTER OF MINISTER FOR MAGIC FOUND DEAD

Lucy Weasley, eldest daughter of Minister for Magic Percy Weasley, was found dead in her room early yesterday morning. Forensics has revealed that the death occurred due to poisoning, though the nature of the poison is yet to be confirmed.

Harry Potter has a difficult job at hand. Well, being an Auror has never been simple, but when the victim is a part of the family, things are bound to become far worse. Relations are put to the test, and old secrets resurface. And sometimes, it may just get too personal…

This was my entry for the Great Hall Chaptered Challenge of 2012, but since that's over and long gone, I'll just get on with finishing the story.

Chocolate Frog by L A Moody

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: Amid the desolation of Diagon Alley, a tiny ray of hope lay buried. Nothing more than a tidbit amid the sweeping despair of Deathly Hallows, yet it would not let go of my imagination. Had I found the casually inserted pivotal clue that would rise like Nicolas Flamel from the pages of the first book? Or had I stumbled upon another Mark Evans: nothing but filler detail in the opening pages of The Order of the Phoenix, JKR having overlooked that he bore the same last name as Harry’s mother?

So I waited for my little gem to bear fruit, to become one of those climactic surprises we should have seen coming, but somehow overlooked. Only it never came to pass. The death count mounted to a staggering high, the epic moments came and went, Snape’s back story was finally revealed, and still nothing.

So it has lain, bereft and unwanted, among the detritus of a Diagon Alley the Death Eaters had turned into a bully’s playground. But in the intervening years, this rough diamond has become the inspiration for this story, spreading its tentacles into new and intriguing territories.

Although Harry mentions Chocolate Frog as the title of Mad-Eye Moody’s autobiography at the end of my previous tale, The Dark Phoenix, this version of the story goes beyond that. Nonetheless, the sections representing Moody’s memoirs are clearly labeled.

This story begins with events recounted in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and continues beyond the end of the series. I have attempted to conform to canon as much as possible, elaborating only where the circumstances are vague or passed over. It is an interpretation of the events that happened behind the scenes, so to speak.

The Paths Continue by ntoforhp

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: This story is a sequel to Paths to 9 and ¾ 2017 and Beyond.

It’s been almost one year since the twentieth anniversary of the battle for Hogwarts was celebrated. The good feelings between the Weasley/Potter clans and the Malfoy/Greengrasses had lasted but a short time. When Draco Malfoy had married Astoria Greengrass he’d become Chairman of the Society of Pure Blood Families. His in-laws founded the Society and having the son of Lucius Malfoy as the Chairman had drawn many of the old-line Pure Blood families. The Society had opposed, with some success, many of the modern progressive changes that the Ministry of Magic under Kinsley Shacklebolt has tried to implement. The Society blames the Weasleys as the chief architects of these changes. The animosity between the two groups was never greater.

Meanwhile, at Hogwarts School the students are mostly ignorant of the depth of this feud. They are interested in their studies, Quidditch and romance, and not necessarily in that order.

The story centers around two young lovers that will interact with Harry, Ginny, Ron, Hermione and their children. This will not be a pleasant trip for the Weasleys, Potters, or the Malfoys as their paths continue down a sometime very rocky road.

The World of Wizarding England and many of the characters belong to J. K. Rowling (who I am obviously not.) I’m just happy to be able to play in it for a while.

Uncovered by Death by Equinox Chick

Rated: 6th-7th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: All Scorpius Malfoy had wanted on the Saturday before Halloween was to spend some time in Hogsmeade alone with his girlfriend, Lily Potter. But Fate appeared to have other plans. Not only is her annoying cousin Hugo Weasley tagging along, but in the aftermath of a violent storm, a body is uncovered.

Working with his boss, Head Auror Harry Potter, to discover the identity of the victim, and the truth of her death, Scorpius quickly learns that not all skeletons are buried underground.

This is a the sequel to High. It is not necessary to read that to understand this, but what the heck, you might just enjoy it!

Many, many thanks to Kara (Karaley Dargen) for not only beta'ing this story, but putting up with the tortuous search for a title.

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling, but I think you know that.

Uncovered by Death won the 2013 QSQ for Best Chaptered Next Generation Story. Thank you very much.

Beard Hunters: A Yuletide Tale by Northumbrian

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: Yuletide: ‘tis the season to be jolly! Unfortunately, for four and two-thirds Potters, jolliness is in short supply. Perhaps it is the season of:
Monkeys; fish and chip suppers; shopping in Knockturn Alley; a werewolf wearing glitter lipstick; a Moon in an eccentric orbit; Dung; snow; and a jolly fat man with a white beard.
Hopefully everything will work out.
Consumer Warning: Like many Christmas gifts, this may contain nuts/nut traces.
No Father Christmases were harmed during the writing of this story.

As Happily Ever After As They're Gonna Get by cjbaggins

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: My take on the first of those 'nineteen years' between the 36th chapter of DH and the epilogue.

Warnings: contains an unusually-shaped ring, a nosy neighbour, a rude shop assistant, shaving mishaps, thoughtful gestures, threatening goblins, and, unexplained appearances of Romantic!Ron and Romantic!Harry. You have been warned.

Rating is for *mild* innuendo and *mostly* innocent interactions but I wouldn't let my 9 year old read it.
