The Dark Lord's Blog by Schmerg_The_Impaler

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: What does Lord Voldemort do in his spare time? Well, that's an excellent question. Who would have known that the Dark Lord has a blog? (He also has a loyal following of readers, most of whom are Death Eaters and who post their comments.) Voldemort dispenses advice on everything from murder methods to germ protection to Power Rangers to shoes, and gives an account of the life of an evil overlord. But is he posting too much personal information online? And will Harry read it and find out more about the Dark Lord than Voldemort ever intended? Read and see.

Battling Jitters by EmilyJayne

Rated: Professors •
Summary: They have battled evil, fate, destiny, time, even each other. Now Ron and Hermione take an emotional ride to battle something equally as treacherous….nerves.

The third installment in my “Battles” series continues here in a fluffier-than-is-normal-for-this-author tale depicting the Jitters Ron and Hermione experience when popping the big question and the events leading up to it.

If you have just found this story, be sure to read “Internal Battles” and “Battling Boundaries”. This story stands alone, but the other two will help complete the back-story. You should enjoy them too! Let me know what you think!

Disclaimer: JKR started it…I am just playing with the fabulous characters!

Really Wicked: Stephen Schwartz's Wicked Gone Potter by Schmerg_The_Impaler

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: It's another spoof by Schmerg_The_Impaler!

This time, it's "Wicked," by Stephen Schwartz, remodeled to tell the story of Voldemort's life!

I'm gonna review right after I read it, but I just wanted to say something: I read your caption for the picture on Leaky and it was hilarious. And now for READING!

Author's Response: Oh my, thank you! I feel a bit dirty for being both a member of MuggleNet and Leaky, but hey, they both have their advantages and disadvantages.

Reviewer: mistyquest Signed

GREAT JOB!!! I think this is the best one yet!! Maybe that's just cuz i know the songs better but.... ya know. Really amzing. Apply depravity?? How did you come up with that ??? That's pure genius.

I'd like a Sweeney Todd spoof next. Just the fact that so many HP actors are in that one would make it great. And the scene on the beach with Todd and Mrs. Lovett reminds me of the relationship with Voldemort and Bellatrix a little.

Author's Response: Thank you SOOO much! Hearing this is my best one yet makes me unbelievably proud of myself... I think my head\'s about to explode. See, Voldemort\'s story parallels Sweeney\'s pretty well, and I\'ve already written a couple of the songs. On the other hand, Harry-spray has such favourites as \"Good Morning, Voldemort\" and \"You Can\'t Stop Lord V,\" although it has no really clear narrative. So that\'s my problem. I will do both eventually, I just don\'t know which one first.

\r\nI came up with Apply Depravity by... well, I already had the plotline planned out, and I knew that I wanted that song to be the one Voldemort and Snape did right before the whole James-and-Lily scene because I wanted to end Act One with that. I took a pad and started listing out words that sounded like \'defying gravity\' (for awhile, the song was called \"Deny Insanity,\" with a whole song about how Voldemort kept claiming he wasn\'t a maniac) and when I came up with Apply Depravity, I just wrote the song around that.

Swimming Lessons by WeasleyMom

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: Six weeks after the battle, Hermione puts on a bathing suit for the first time in nearly a year... scars are revealed as painful memories rise to the surface yet again.

I almost submitted this under dark/angst, but at the end of the day, I see it as Ron/Hermione. *shrug* Also, a gazillion thanks to my awesometastic beta Natalie, and to both Neil and Carole for helping me with all things British. :D

I'm thrilled to announce that this story was nominated for a 2011 Quicksilver Quill in the category Best Canon Romance. YAY!

This was so beautiful. You expressed such believable emotions in such a very small space.
I especially loved the reference to the way Fleur and Tonks love their men despite their scars. It fits Ron's and Hermione's situation so well and is very poignant.

Author's Response: I think the reference to Fleur and Tonks was originally there becuase it was a condition of the drabble. I hated that I had to include that at the time, but now I do like it and think it works as an ending... so thanks for mentioning that. I'm glad you liked this and found it moving. Thanks for the review!

M.I.T.: Haunted House: Dead by Northumbrian

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary:
A haunted house that isn’t haunted, a Muggle fortune teller who can’t actually tell fortunes and the legend of the Cursed Green Pearl! What happens when “the nation’s favourite television ghost-hunters” stumble onto something really magical? What (apart from a mysterious chest, a broken red stiletto and a corpse) lies within the topmost room of the Haunted Tower?

It’s time for the Auror Office’s Muggle Interface Team - Brown, Bones and Beadle - to investigate.

This is Northumbrian of Ravenclaw house writing for the 2011 Mysterious May Challenge in the Great Hall - Extra Credit Prompt

This is one of four mystery stories I wrote for the Challenge. Until now I’ve resisted editing this story as to do so will (I believe) mean that it can’t be judged as part of the challenge (editing after the closing date is cheating). I can’t wait any longer.

Oooooh a riveting beginning!! Can't wait for more:)
The ending reminds me so much of Quirrell yelling, "TROLL! TROLL IN THE DUNGEONS! Thought you ought to know."

Author's Response: Thanks for the review, your first for my stuff :-D This prologue introduces the suspects. Do you have any idea whodunit? -N-
