About the name- "Orchideous" is a spell used to make flowers burst out of your wand. Ollivander uses it in GOF to test Fleur's wand.

Let's see... I'm a female high school student residing in New York. Know the Harry Potter books back to front. Can get very caught up in arguing... I mean discussing... the finer plot details of the books. I really don't like parentheses for some reason and prefer to use brackets wherever possible. I really like cats.

I have a fic or two in the process of being written, but meanwhile, I've decided to post some stuff about me and the HP books.

Favorite Book: GOF followed by OotP followed by DH followed by PA followed by HBP followed by SS followed by CS.

Favorite Chapter: The Prince's Tale and The Forest Again in DH make me cry hysterically every time I read them, without fail. In a good way.

Favorite Character: Top six: Neville, Snape, Lily, Ron, Lupin, Draco.

Favorite Category: I love Marauder Era fics, fics that fill in missing moments in the seven books, and fics about the Black family.

Favorite Pairings: Snape/Lily, James/Lily [to a slightly lesser extent], Neville/Hannah, Ron/Hermione [if only because I wanted to smack them in HBP]. Oh, and Draco/Parvati. Yes, it's odd, but I love it and maybe I'll write it someday.

Uhh. More to come later, once I get them fics up.

I love this story! It's so odd [in a good way!] and refeshing to see Molly and Arthur behaving like typical young teenagers when all we usually see of them are the older, wiser versions. It also definitely shows that they understand a lot more about their children's lives than the children give them credit for.

I love the parts about the rose garden and the Black family especially.

I hope you update!

Also, what year does this take place? I'm assuming 1974, based on the years Andy gave about the Black family, but just to make sure?

A Little More Time by Pallas

Ahh! This is amazing. I just read the whole stpry in one go. I've always felt really sorry for Teddy, losing his parents like he did, especially since Remus was one of my favorite characters... The plot and the language and everything is so well though-out and planned. I really hope you continue this, now that we have that huge cliffhanger... Lovely!

Vanity and Pride by Ironic Inspiration

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary:

What is a story without a scandal?

Underneath every burn hole on the tapestry of the Black family tree, there is a story, and underneath every story, there is a scandal.

In 1924, the Blacks were the most powerful family of the Wizarding World. They were greedy, back-stabbing, malicious, and power-hungry. And Cedrella was no exception. She was her father's favourite daughter; the pride of the Blacks, and it has earned her a conceited nature like no other.

But during her seventh year at Hogwarts, her life begins to become a little more clear, her family a little more conniving. She is arranged to wed the infamous Abraxus Malfoy and has people watching her every move to make sure she follows through. It makes it even more difficult when Septimus Weasley, a blood traitor and fellow classmate, starts to convince her, that for once in her life, she could have what she wanted.

A scandal forms between the two; a forbidden love between Black and Weasley behind the walls of Hogwarts. If they are found out, their lives will be ruined. But even under the opposition, what a Black wants...

a Black gets.

What a wonderful beginning! I love how you characterized all of the Black family members; they seem very Black-like, though we don't know much about them from canon. Cedrella is just the right balance of witty, charming, snide and vain; I'm really eager to see how her relationship with Septimus will begin.
