And the scar — I had always thought it neat to have a scar shaped like a lightening bolt.
Jane Martin sees the odd, quiet boy she went to primary school with years ago in a jewellery shop and she's shocked to see how much things have changed for the boy with taped glasses and baggy clothes. *one-shot*

This one-shot is very enjoyable, and memorable. I loved how you intertwined Harry's Muggle and Wizarding world, the seriousness (the insight into Harry;s earlier life was so sad :( ) and the love. And oh, you managed to make it funny as well. :D I loved seeing the muggle perspective of Harry, from someone who isn't a Dursely xD
Now what I was wondering about, it's only a small detail, but Janie only spares Harry's scar (the I Must Not Tell Lies one) a few seconds of thought. Now if I were to see someone with a scar like that, it would probably bother me for ages...
Here is a typo: "That's right!"I smiled. (add a space)
And here: She thinks engagement rings she be simpler Shouldn't is be 'she thinks engagement rings should be simpler'?

Author's Response: Thank you! I fixed both the typos :) I'm glad you liked the Muggle perspective and the mix of the two worlds. I always like reading stories of that nature, and this way my first try at it. As for the scar -- I'm sure she would think on it more; I'm sure she would have a lot more to think on it, like how he apparently did not go to a school for criminal boys. There's definitely more to the story, but this was only supposed to capture one scene. :)

Excerpt from Volume 7: Once again, James image standing next to her, shielding her from the rain, peering into her face anxiously, appeared foremost in her thoughts.
“There’s James Potter,” Lily finally mentioned.
“There’s a promising name,” her father commented. “Isn’t that the boy who’s been after you for years, though? I thought you didn’t like him.”
“I can’t believe you remember,” Lily said, laughing. “But he’s changed so much. He’s-”
She struggled for words.
“Well, he’s sort of…different, in a way – er – this is absurd! I can’t even find the words to describe him.”
“Sounds like a girl in love,” said her mother’s voice. Mr. Evans looked up brightly at his wife, who stood in the door way smiling.
“Do you really think so?” he said delightedly. He looked at Lily. “Is it true?”
Out of her depth on the subject of her own feelings, Lily sputtered,
“I-I don’t know! He is smart, and talented; he is on the good side, you know; against Lord Voldemort…”
“Lily,” Olivia Evans interrupted gently, coming and sitting on the corner of the bed, taking Lily’s hand in her own, “I know you think all that is what we want to hear as your parents; but really, truly, all we care about is your happiness. I know you: you’re a girl who follows your heart. So learn what’s in your heart now that your head has done its work.”
It was then that Lily realized that she could not imagine spending the rest of her life with anyone else.

hey Hannah :D I really really liked this-it was so interesting to see how it could have happened. I have never read a fic like this, and I am super exited too! I was surprised about how the Evans reacted to the news, and that Lily knew almost everything before she went to Hogwarts. i cannot wait to get the next chapter!!!

Compelled into joining by her friends, bookish Rose Weasley finds herself unwittingly sucked into Professor Cassio’s reproduction of Romeo and Juliet… as the leading lady. Unfortunately, it seems that none other than Scorpius Malfoy has been assigned the role of Romeo. But as personalities clash and sparks fly, Rose finds it increasingly difficult to distinguish where rehearsal ends and real life begins.
To top off the whole fiasco, someone is after the Drama Club’s closure, and will seemingly stop at nothing to get it…

I loved this, Alyssa :D It was so great. I can totally imagine it happening like that.
I especially like the part when you talk about Andromeda. And the part in which Sirius thinks about Regulus. He sounds guilty, but bitter at the same time. really well done.
I like the detail you put into this. For example, how Sirius hides his wand in his pocket, covered by hi (Muggle) shirt.
I have a few questions. You say 'a week without food or water' but I thought one can't survive more than three days without water. Was she just saying that, or did she want to kill him, or...?
And the last line- you say 'I walked out the door for the last time'. Is that what he thinks at the moment? Or the last time when it is still the Blacks house? Because he will return, when it is the Orders Headquarters...
And when will he mention James, or think about him?

Author's Response: A person can go two weeks without food and two days without water, but Mrs. Black was just exagerating (that's what I imagined anyways). For the last line, I didn't have him thinking about fifteen years in the future. It was just for that moment. He will think about James in a little bit. What I imagined was going through his head was that he was alone now, so he wouldn't think of anyone else. I'm so happy that you liked this, Andi. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

oh, Alyssa, this was so great I would squeal, if it were not completely inappropriate, giving the topic. I am really to sad at the moment to squeal... which is a good thing, I guess, because that was your aim for the story? I think this is really something Remus would think that day.
I have question. You say To you, noise makes things seem final. . Why, though? I'm just curious.
Also, I wonder what exactly Dumbledore says with his eyes?
I especially love the line Minuets later there is another wet spot of tears-you have no-where to turn to (at least I think that was it) I love this because it kind of shows his current condition. He really doesn't have anywhere to turn to.
I also have a few nit-picks.
you say the spell and one pop later... One doesn't have to say a spell to Apparate.
And here, Or in James, Peter's or Lily's case, dead Why do you have a 's on Peter and Lily's names, but not on James' ?
Again, great great job Alyssa (and ha! Weren't you saying only a few days ago that you only had a hundred words, and that you wouldn't get this finished??? Knew you could do it, hun :D)

I could really connect with Clarisse well - you described her feelings/thoughts very well. It was very original. I've never read the Potters-are-old-new idea yet. I also liked how it wasn't from Lily's POV, but she will defiantly play a role in the story.
I am really sucked in by your take on the ... reformed wizarding world. I noticed they talked freely about house elves.
And another compliment, this one for your summary. It really pulled me in.
where I assumed all the teachers sat, all of them staring at us. If they are staring at them then why does she have to assume they sit there? Didn't she see them?

Two new stories from you in one day? I am a lucky gal. And on Christmas, too.
I loved this fic. It was amazing. Especially this part:
You’ve always said that you wanted to do something to fight against Voldemort. Now you have that chance. But then why is it taking you so long to say yes?
*brilliant.
I also liked that Mrs. Potter knew without asking that they had said yes.
I noticed that they call Dumbledore 'Dumbledore' and not Albus.
And this line “What does Albus want?”. Albus already left, so shouldn't it be 'what did Albus want?'
I was surprised Lily trusted that Alice was Alice, not some DE, without checking. She will probably get more cautious as the war gets worse. Oh, and that goes for Alice too.
I think it is a bit self contradictory to say Lily has never seen so many people in her life, and then later, that there are only fifteen people.
Oh, and Moody wasn't part of the Order yet? It seems he would be one of the first people to join.
Again, I thought this was very good. I could really feel how scared Lily was, even though she really wanted to help. *hugs* good job!

Author's Response: I thought about when Alice came to her house and Lily didn't ask her anything. I just thought that sinse Lily didn't have any experience with anything like she is doing (I expect James to have a little) she wouldn't know to ask for more info. For the never seeing many people in her life, I meant that she's never seen so many people who are willing to fight against Voldemort. With Moody, I know that he's apart of the Order, but I didn't have him there because he might have been on and Order mission or an Auror mission. Not everyone can make it to all of the meetings. I am so happy tha you thought this was good because I think that it one of the worst things that I have ever written. Thanks for the review! *hugs*
