Summary: The reign of Voldermort comes to an end, and with it ends the prestige and power Lucius Malfoy once had in the Wizarding World. In order to regain the respect of his fellow wizards and to make them believe that he has turned over a new leaf (which he actually hasn't) and has graciously accepted muggles and Mudbloods, Lucius asks Hermione, a Mudblood, to marry his son, Draco, a pure-blood. Obviously, they both refuse, but Lucius isn't going to give up easily. After all, he wants his status back. He still has a few tricks up his sleeve and is determined to play match-maker. What happens next is a series of events that serve only to bring Hermione and Draco closer, both literally and figuratively speaking. Oh my gosh you have to update soon!!! I am so excited/freaked to see what happens when she faces Voldemort and the death eaters as one of them. I thought it was really interesting how you kind of touched on the whole "for the greater good" concept when she was thinking about everything she would have to do as a death eater. This story has gotten so good - can't wait for the next chapter!!

its so sad about fornax! now alesmore is down 2 great teachers! I hate to say it, but i'm guessing its colm - i'm dying to find out more about this traitor and how/why they're accomplishing everything! what's lottie going to do next? ah the suspense :)
Author's Response: Yeah, Alsemore is at a serious disadvantage without him. Not only because he's a great leader, too, but there's another reason that makes his death particularly problematic... You'll see in the next chapter!

1st of all your dedication was really sweet, I definity agree that Jo has changed the lives of all her fans :) Now for the story, I really like how you chose to kill Voldemort in the 1 way that Harry tried but failed - remorse. It was so cool that she was able to use her beast occulency/legimency to force him to feel remorse for a second. It was a very interesting way for him to die. At the same time I really liked how this chapter showed what her mastery of occ/leg has done to her. She can do anything without feeling because she is so good at shutting away all emotion - I wonder how that's going to affect her in the epilogue...

Well done! I think the ending you created was very believable. Lottie has sacrificed her soul, her humanity in a sense, to defeat Voldemort. Now with him gone, it seems that she is finally paying the price as her emotions overwhelm her. I think that by experiencing emotion again she is on the path to recovery, but i don't know if she'll ever be able to regain her full humanity. This ending was chilling and perfect for your story. Great job and I look forward to reading any future fanfictions from you!

ok don't take this the wrong way, i really like this story and i know its AU but i didn't like the fact that harry is dead because he made the choice to move on instead of coming back. again i totally get how this makes perfect sense with the story and i'm glad lottie is making the right choice, but i kinda wish harry had died some other way (i know that sounds awful but its so not him to make the easier decision instead of the right one) update soon, i can't believe the story's almost over!
Author's Response: That's fair. The conceit of this story relies on Harry making a huge mistake, one that he probably wouldn't make in canon; one of his best qualities in canon is that he wouldn't make this mistake, but that is something I decided to change.

wow. I just read ur story and it's wicked good! I love the concept that you came up with, and I thought bringing some of the original characters connected this story to the original really well. hmmm this chapter def made me think. i'm disappointed in Maelioric, if he was secret keeper he should have dealt with his pain to keep the school safe! I'm not surprised they're staying to fight to defend the school, it's reminiscent of the Battle of Hogwarts. Lottie's slytherin-esque self-preservation really shows here until she decides to go fight - i was kinda surprised! What i love the most is that your characters are so complex that i can't anticipate what any of them will do during the battle...anxious as ever for the next chapter!
Author's Response: Thanks! Yeah, Lottie definitely fights in a more Slytherin fashion than Harry does. She does fight, though. After all, her entire life has been a battle against Voldemort; although she's self-preserving, fighting for what she believes in is important to her.

nice chapter! i just was a little confused -maybe i just can't remember the chapter, but did lottie find the diadem when they were at the hog's head or during a different mission? I'm really interested on learning more about this next horcrux and discovering if snape is really trying to help her or not...update again soon!
Author's Response: Thanks! Lottie found the diadem at Hogwarts. The Sorting Hat led her to the Room of Requirement, and she found it right where Harry left it--on top of the bust with the wig.

wow this was definitely my favorite chapter so far. it was really well writren and your development of lottie's character is so complex and believable. andrea and lottie's fight was very intense, i love your description of how ice is surrounding lottie's heart and andrea's claim that she has lost her soul. really looking forward to the next chapter...this story is amazing :)
