I am a college student in the US. I literally grew up reading the Harry Potter series. I am hopelessly addicted to them. Most of the Sorting quizzes I've taken put me in Ravenclaw.
I love to read, write, and listen to music. Truth be told, I couldn't survive without any of those actions. They calm my scattered brain and greatly influence my obsession with exclamation points!!!
Tonks' world has fallen into shadow. Voldemort has returned, the Order of the Phoenix has risen, and Sirius is slowly drowning in memories and Firewhisky. Tonks needs more than determination to fight the darkness. She needs Remus.
Yeah, "Oh, no, not him again!" just about sums it up, but my thoughts were a little more profane. Excellent story you have here.
Author's Response: It was just a cameo. :D Thank you!
Beauty from pain... I like this story, and I look forward to reading the next one. It worries me, though. A lot happens, and at some point there's going to be long, drawn out fight about Remus being too old and dangerous and Tonks not caring about that. It's going to be ridiculous in nature, but well written, and I'll comfort myself with the fact that Tonks never gives up because she thinks he's f-ing perfect! (Speaking of f-ing perfect, *squeals with excitement* I finally got a story published! It's called "You Are Perfect to Me", and I would really appreciate your opinion on it, if you have time.) Now, I'm off to finish reading Remus's journal.
Happy Writing,

Author's Response:
Huzzah for you getting a story published! *throws confetti* I'd love to read it.
I'm looking forward to your opinion on the next story. I tried to lead up to the Hospital Wing moment so when it comes, it isn't out of nowhere, and their fighting that leads up to it isn't ridiculous.
I like how it's kind of journal-like. Good start.
Beautiful... a little wild, a little crazy... but beautiful!
Beautiful chapter. I almost died laughing at your Little Red Riding Hood reference. There's a Remus/Tonks series by Kerichi with several of them. I love this story. It's amazing that Harry gets to spend time with all of the people he's lost, and the ones he doesn't know he'll lose. It's sad, but beautiful.
Author's Response: Hooray! I'm glad you enjoyed it so much. I looooooove all of Kerichi's series on Remus and Tonks, especially the most recent one, "Dark Angel." She kind of helped cement Tonk's personality for me :-)
So, I just spent most of my day rereading this entire fanfiction. Now, I remember why I added it to my favorites. Your story is amazing, and I look forward to reading the rest of it.
Happy Writing,
GinnyPotter711
Author's Response: Hooray! I'm glad you like it so much, and that you think I'm such a good writer :-)
Awww.... they're so adorkable! (not a typo, by the way. a-dork-able) Can't wait for the next chapter!
Author's Response: Ha, thanks :-). That's how I picture Ron and Hermione.
Excellent chapter. I seem to be enjoying this story more and more, even with the dangers that seem to be cropping up everywhere. I'm also really glad Tonks and Remus are okay and look as if they're falling in love... Though, I did just realize something interesting. They've changed the past by showing up and accidentally letting Remus know that Hermione Granger will someday be his student. What's to stop Professor Lupin from asking 13 year-old Hermione about her sister, Lizzy? =) I just love time travel stories. The "wibbley-wobbley timey-whimey"ness of them makes me smile!
Author's Response: Hooray! I'm glad you liked this chapter so much :-). And I've thought of all of that, don't worry ;-). I've got a plan.
My affinity to the journal compels me to keep it at hand. I, too, am rather shabby, and yet there are pages of my life still unwritten.... Remus reflects on his life and love for Tonks in a companion fic to Moonlight and Shadow that parallels chapter nine onward.
It's a wonderful daydream. I wonder if its impossibility lessens Remus's fear that a child of his would be just like him- a werewolf. I think its really cute that he and Tonks both want to have children with each other. They never seem to talk about the idea.
Author's Response: It's too early in the relationship to talk about marriage and kids, but that doesn't stop them from thinking about the future...or at least dreaming about it. ;)
I really like getting different points-of-view to things that happen. It's one of the reasons I love third-person omniscient. The reader gets to know everything and laugh or cry as the characters begin to figure it out. First-person is good, too, though. Sometimes, it's nice to be surprised. Anyway, this was an amazing story. I love reading about Tonks and Remus.
Author's Response: I like third person limited because, like first person, you're in the pov of the main character, but there's a teensy bit of distance so you get a slightly bigger, more vivid picture--like watching movies on Blu-ray. :D
Oh, don't even get me started on complicated men. *starts rambling about an ex-boyfriend* It's easy to see why Tonks loves Remus, but if he weren't so damn stubborn and self-loathing, there wouldn't be a problem. Can he stop bashing himself, though? NO!
It is the most infuriating thing in the world to deal with a man who thinks he's not worthy of love and happiness. Sadly, I don't think Remus ever fully understands that he is freaking perfect in her eyes. It makes me sad because it reminds of someone I know who is freaking perfect and refuses to believe it!
Author's Response: I think Remus knows how Tonks sees him. He just thinks love is blind, or if she really knew what the monster inside him was capable of, she wouldn't feel the same way about him anymore. Tonks never gives up trying to get him to accept who he is, even the animal he hates. It sounds like you heard a version of "too old, too poor, too dangerous" too, and that is sad. *hugs*
That last part is exactly why I keep saying my college orientation leaders should NOT be called 'O Leaders'! It's just WRONG! Hilarious story!
Sequel to Semi Charmed Life
*The concluding, post-Azkaban story, Far Away, for Far too Long, can be found in the Romance/OP category.*
Oh, please, Hermione's academic eagerness has nothing on the waving fury of my raised hand! I realliy liked your use of the word "scrummier". It makes me think of "scrumptious". I don't know if you've seen "Cats & Dogs 2: Revenge of Kitty Galore", but in that movie the villian is a cat with a pet mouse name Scrumptious and she just wants to eat him up. I know it's figurative in Rosmerta's case, but you really get the idea that she just wants to eat him up because he's so delectably scrumptious. Anyhoo, glad they finally did it! lol! Off to read the next installment!
Author's Response: That is a great word, isn't it? I haven't seen the movie, but that's interesting, a cat with a pet mouse. At least with Sirius, wanting to eat him up isn't literal. :P
*Follows the Marauder Era stories Semi Charmed Life and A Charmed Life*
Okay, maybe you're a little too good at writing because this one-shot combined with the song "Faithfully" by Journey playing in the background create an image that could make a grown woman cry... and it did!
More specifically, it was the part that says, "And being apart ain't easy on this love affair. Two strangers learn to fall in love again. I get the joy of rediscovering you, oh girl, you stand by me. I'm forever yours, faithfully." It just makes me really sad because now I'm thinking Sirius had to have had someone in his life who loved him as much as he loved her. There had to have been someone there who he lost because of betrayal and false accusations. And, now, I'm blubbering on like a baby, but it was just a lot all at once to realize. I had never given much thought to it in the past.
Very beautiful story, all three installments... just plain beautiful.
Happy Writing,
GinnyPotter711
Author's Response:
I think in canon Sirius never did have a true love, that he had his friends and his fight against You-Know-Who, and then Azkaban, the escape, and being chained to Grimmauld until he slipped the leash one too many times and died for it. That's part of his tragedy, and why I ended up giving him romance not only in this story, but in my Tonks and Remus series, too (different dimension of the Potterverse, different girl). Sirius deserves love. Sigh.
Thank you for making my writing happier, knowing there's an awesome person reading it!
This is a cute story. He's so annoyingly stubborn, as usual.
"Plot were-rabbits"? I take it that's a joke about rabbits' tendencies to multiply. Lol. I will definitely say "Huzzah" to that. I love back-story. It's fun to read and write. I haven't really written much Harry Potter back-story, though. I really should, but I'm still waiting for Pottermore. :( Anyhoo, sorry about the off-topic ranting.
I like Andromeda's boldness. It just goes to show that love conquers all, even prejudices. I also understand Tonks a little better now. Apparently, the urge to kiss one's beloved senseless is an inherited trait! :)
Author's Response:
If it's about writing or HP, it's definitely on topic!
Nice hereditary trait, isn't it? Bold kissing. ;)
She was stuck with limp, mousey brown hair.
Tonks didn’t scream the way she once would have. Instead, she felt bleak satisfaction. This is what grief looks like, she thought. It isn’t pretty.
Tonks' trouble with her Metamorphosing? It's complicated.
Angst just goes with the territory sometimes. I have the vague idea that I might have read this before, but I wasn't 100% sure, so I decided to read just in case. It's nice that Tonks can actually go to her parents when she's hurting. Even when my grandparents passed away, I didn't feel like looking at my parents, much less talking to them. The thought of her mousy brown hair makes me sad. It'll turn pink again, though, and that's what saves me a little heartache.
Author's Response: Fictional families can be a lot more comforting and understanding (and just plain more lovable) than real ones, sad but true. I hope you had friends that helped you through your sad times. It's said that friends are God's apology for family. *hugs*
Giant spiders, malevolent bats, wizard scouts...werewolves. Tonks finds life in Hogsmeade far from simple, while Remus discovers having a partner in touch with her inner wolf complicates his mission and his heart.
Quickly, I must say, DOCTOR WHO IS AMAZING! Especially with David Tennant as the Doctor (I'm a little behind, so I don't know how I feel about Matt Smith, yet.) *sigh* I wish I had Psychic Paper. I could get into so much trouble with that! :)
Anyhoo, rambling again... Excellent chapter. I'm so glad that glitch in the site has been fixed, and I can actually get back to reading this one. It would be really cool if something could be worked out with the mirrors, to at least let Tonks and Remus kiss. It would suck to be away from the one you loved for so long.
Author's Response: It's probably a good thing I can't work magic. Jinxes, Psychic Paper: I 'd always be in trouble. :D
I've read Deathly Hallows, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was. It's been a while. Looks I've got a little rereading to do after finals. Wonderful chapter. Tonks seems like exactly the type to get worried and immediately investigate.
Author's Response: Tonks' life would be easier sometimes if she'd just wait and rethink a situation before acting, but I probably wouldn't like her as much. :)
