Letters From Hogwarts by mudbloodproud

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: In Britain, there are two birthdays that are waited for with bated breath by witches and wizards alike. The first is turning eleven. This birthday brings an owl bearing a letter to Hogwarts.

For some, getting their letter does not go as planned. In this series, you will discover the day several witches and wizards received their letter and why it wasn’t just a normal day.

I wish to thank my beta, Alyssa (harry4lif).

I do not own anything your recognise in this story. It all belongs to J.K. Rowling. I am just thankful to be able to play in her world for a little while.

I really loved this two one-shots en look forward to more of these (the marauders, and lily (potter and evans) would be very nice to read!) I think the characterisation of the kids was very good. James, the prankster, Al the bit more introvert and Lily just with the temper of her mother and Harry; s mom, but also very caring and loving for her family.
I liked how good you wrote the parenting styles of Harry and Ginny. It is just like the epilogue
I did also like that you included the part about what Ginny and Harry thought about their kid going to Hogwards. I quess it does is a big thing to have your first born child going away for most of the year. But I do think that actually Harry would have more difficulty with it than Ginny. I quess Ginny would be more used to such family dynamics, because she is from a big family herself. In the epilogue in DH you can also read that in the end Harry is worrying more about Al and Ginny is consoling him. And I think maybe Ginny wouldn't cry that fast, because she wants to be strong. You can really see that in de book at Dumbledores' funeral.
But it were two really lovely and funny stories and i am looking forward to read more of them! so keep them coming;)

Author's Response: Thank you for your review. There are plenty of more letters planned and not just Next Gen ones... Make of that what you will. hehehe Muse is busy working on a couple of different stories at the moment, but she does have plans on getting more letters written to add to this.
Thanks again.

Fred and George's Busy Day by Northumbrian

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary:
WINNER of the BEST GENERAL story – Quicksilver Quills Awards 2010.
In the weeks and months after their eldest brother’s wedding Fred and George Weasley continued to run their business. Two decent honest and respectable businessmen, they had no involvement at all in any illicit conduct. They certainly didn’t get involved in any anti-Voldemort activities. Definitely not. No. Not them. Never. They wouldn’t. Honestly.

I really loved this story! I think you captured the humour of the twins perfectly and also their characterization was really very great. I loved it that you did show the difference in the characters of the twins, with Fred being louder and George caring more about feelings and being a bit more tentative.
It was great to read an other side of the war than just that of the trio.
Only in the beginning of the first chapter, George says 'She’s gown up.’ about Hannah, but I think is supposed to be 'grown'. Furthermore a really great story, it is going right into my favorites!:)

Author's Response: Thanks for the review.
I tried to show the slight differences between the twins, I'm glad you noticed. :-D
Writing this made me want to write more pre-war and war stories, so I did.
Thanks for pointing out the typo, I've fixed it, and I've fixed the annoying little html glitched which were peppering the story with some weird symbol groups.

Rotten Resolutions by WeasleyMom

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: Ron and Hermione make New Year's Resolutions.

This was originally written for a drabble challenge of the same name, where resolutions must be made and... well, I'll let you see for yourself. A fluffy little one-shot.

Thanks to Natalie for her mad, QSQ-winning beta skills

Lovely one shot. I do think that Hermione would keep nagging Ron even though they are together. But I actually think Hermione cán cook. Not really imiganitive, but I guess that before she went to live on her own, she would have read all the cooking books available ;). Hermione wants to be good in everything, so that would include cooking. however a funny story about Hermione and Ron

Author's Response: Hi there. I do think Hermione would be capable of cooking the basics. She would make sure she could do a few things, of course. But I think that with Ron being used to Molly's cooking, poor Hermione would suffer by comparison. Hehe. I'm so glad you enjoyed this -- thanks for reading and taking time to leave a review! Sorry I'm so tardy with the response!

Moving Ginny by WeasleyMom

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: After her brother's Potter-assisting activities are discovered by Death Eaters, Ginny's Easter holiday take a bit of a sour turn.

A missing moment from Deathly Hallows

I'm not J.K. Rowling, which should be obvious as soon as you being reading. Haha.

I liked the did really like the story! When we are with the trio in DH we don't really know what is going on in the wizarding world and this story fills that gap. It seems so Ginny to worry about her family and friends, though I think she would be even more worried about Harry, Ron and Hermione.
I do also think it is really Ginny to not want to get very emotional in front of Bill. That really fits in her character en you can also see that in the books when she doesn't want Harry to see her crying.
So great one shot en I look forward to reading more of your storys! (p.s. sorry if my English is bad, it isn mother tongue I am actually Dutch;)

Author's Response: I'm so sorry -- I just realized I never responded to your review. I'm so glad you enjoyed the story and felt like Ginny was believable for that period of time. I honestly don't think Ginny would really be comfortable being emotional in front of anyone, and she is just continuing that as she is with Bill.

Thanks again for taking the time to leave a review -- your English is good, considering it's not your native language. Take care! ~Lori

Love and Order by Gmariam

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: When impulsive new Auror Alice Hamilton is partnered with the more serious and experienced Frank Longbottom, neither is quite sure what to expect. They have a history, after all, and a different way of approaching the job. Yet in a world where dark forces continue to threaten the safety and security of the magical community, they must work together in spite of their feelings--especially when it becomes clear that You-Know-Who is planning a major offensive that will threaten both their relationship and their lives.

I really love this story!
I think you succeeded very well in giving Alice and Frank their own characters. I have read some Alice/Frank stories in which they were mostly older versions of Neville, but you have given both of them a very good developed personality. I love Alice being more spontaneous and rash and Frank being more serious, though he has a great dry form of humor.

I also think the balance between action and romance in this story is very good. The action and romance alternate nicely and this gives this story a very good pace. The natural, bantering dialogues are great!

And I absolutely love the inclusion of all the other characters (.. Marauders :D)! It was great to hear more about Gideon and Fabian, whom both are quite minor characters, and reading about them brings them more to live.

All in all a great story and am eagerly awaiting the next chapter!

Finally by Gmariam

Love the story! It's a great sequel to 'Love and Order'. At the end I was whooping along with all the other Order members when Frank finally asked Alice! And Moody was deliciously down to earth: "Can we continue now? There is a war on, after all."

Sadly, the ending is bittersweet "They would be together, finally and forever." knowing how their story will end..
