I love Harry Potter fan fiction, because it allows my imagination to run free!
I probably could be doing something more productive, but since I love to read and write, and hope to be an author one day, this doesn't seem like a whole waste of time!!!!
I love this site so much. It really let's me challenge my mind and see things in a whole new light.
Go fan fiction!!!!!
EDIT: I am a poetry nut! So watch out for all my poetry and you can even check some of my poetry out on Poetry Anyone? in the Beta Forums, if you are able to get an account. :) Also watch out if you write poetry, too! I am sure to review it, and possibly leave behind a critique!

Oh, poor Ron! I think you did a magnificent job, but I'm positive that Ron visited his brother Bill during this time. He told his friends later that Bill had always been decent to him, and didn't like him running away, but had helped him just the same... Other than that, I loved it!
Author's Response: Thank you for the lovely review. I too thought Ron visited Shell Cottage, but I went back through Deathly Hallows as I wrote this and couldn't find the reference where he mentioned it so I thought better safe than sorry. Glad you liked the story, Shell Cottage visit or not. :-)
In response to your response: the reference is on page 397 of chapter twenty, Xenophilius Lovegood, in the American version of the Deathly Hallows. :) but as you said, it didn't really matter!
Author's Response: That's what I'd been looking for! You would have been a godsend when I was writing this... Thanks for doing more due diligence than me and finding what I didn't. If I ever go back and seriously revise the piece, I'll definitely use this info.
I love how you characterized Luna, but in the seventh book, it said that Luna had been taken during the Christmas season. So why would she ask her friends if they had a good Christmas? She would have already been taken... (see chapter 20, Xenophilius Lovegood, pages 396-397 of the American version of the Deathly Hallows) other than that, I think that this was a great short story. You captured the essence of Luna well.
This isn't a story about first love. But it is a story about childhood, and making the decision to leave it.
How beautiful and poetic! And what a great friendship! I loved how Luna made friends with the boy, and how they found comfort in one another. :) Great job!!!!!! Friendship and innocence are always things to desire... :D
Author's Response: Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Here is my fab review: I love poetry! Am I right in thinking that this was the ghost of Voldemort? If not, then who is it?
My favorite line was the last one- And I am eternal. How true that spirits are eternal, although what he really meant was that he would live on in infamy, always remembered. Still, it's a scary thought- to always be remembered... To think that centuries from now, some people could be learning about any one of us! And how will the books write us? History is written by the victor, and as we have witnessed in all these stories, perspective is everything!!!!!! Just a little thought that will probably haunt me for a while... :D
Great poem, by the way! It was flawless (I find most poetry to be flawless, anyways, since the words always come from a special place in people's hearts and minds). :) :) :)
Author's Response: Thank you so much. Poetry has so little love on the archives that I'm always doubly delighted to get a review, and triply when it's a lovely one like this. Yes, it's Voldemort's ghost talking and the other ghosts are the ones clamouring for revenge. History is of course written by the victor, but I also think his name will live on as a horror story to frighten people. Thank you again ~Carole~
A witch is born. She already has opinions.
Alternate-universe only in that it disregards Pottermore information on Minerva's parentage.
I love the Scottish words and language you used! You have a real knack of capturing how people speak! :) it's amazing that some children pick up magic so quickly...
Author's Response: Thanks!
It was a bit of a stretch, given that the closest I've ever been to Scotland is Paris, LOL!
Yes, I see Minerva McGonagall as a powerful witch with an even more powerful set of opinions.
What a humorous poem! I loved it! Since I'm not a Percy fan, I totally didn't mind the wish to hurt him. :) teehee!
Author's Response: Hello Nagini Riddle,
yeah, I'm still really miffed that Percy got life while poor dead Fred is lost to us forever.I can't even comprehend what life must be like now for Georgie ...
Thanks for R & R-ing,
Kara's Aunty ;)
How interesting. I loved the song that played throughout the piece- it was really sweet. :) I am beginning to really enjoy these Luna stories that people are writing! Her characterization was beautiful and totally like Luna. Great job! Continue to let music inspire you. :D
Author's Response: Music is usually an inspiration, but most of the time not as obvious. ;) I'm really glad you like it; Eyes Open is definitely one of my favorite songs. It keeps me going sometimes. I'm so glad I got Luna right; she's probably one of the toughest characters to write. Thanks for the review!

This definitely shows Draco in a new light! I loved it! I especially liked how you were able to capture the battle and the emotions. Spot on! I don't know if I could have been in Draco's place, watching Colin die... I really loved what was written on the tombstone! The fact that Colin was a warrior and a hero is so comforting, even though he was just a child! War is so ugly!!!!!!!!!! Please, people, keep the peace!
Again, lovely story! I thoroughly enjoyed it
~Nagini Riddle
Author's Response: Thank you! This story was a lot of fun to write, and it took me several edits to get all the emotions and all correct. Watching someone die in front of your eyes is a very horrifying experience, and knowing that you could have done something to stop it is just agonizing. Draco has had to face that at least twice: the first being Dumbledore and now Colin, and of course, the many others during his tenure as a Death Eater. I believe that it would have changed Draco in some ways, and in the process make him wonder if whatever he had been taught was right or not. From the chapters in HBP and DH it is obvious that Draco isn't capable of murder and that he was having second thoughts, so I just decided to write about his character for this challenge, because there's so many new situations to explore :D.
Colin's death was one that hit me rather hard, along with those of Fred, Dobby, Hedwig and Lupin and Tonks. He was so young and he didn't need to fight, but he still did for the sake of his friends and family. Colin, I feel, is a true hero. The tombstone quotes needed some research on my part, because I'm not a Christian and hence we don't really write anything on our tombstones. :) I searched the net and made a compilation of the most war-hero-sounding tombstone quotes and then took bits and pieces from them to make up the quote. It was fun. I felt that the warrior/hero quote qould be especially moving and, guess what, I made that up myself. :D I'm quite proud of it, lol.
Once again, thank you for the lovely reviews you've left! They really made my day, and I'm so glad you enjoyed the story. :D --Nadia
Poor James, but I think I'm with Lily on this one- perhaps because I know they get together again, and rather soon, too, because they have Harry within a few years of graduating. But, still, I feel for James- probably because I know what his future holds for him!
I loved the poppy field!!!!!! I wonder if they were at all like the sleeping poppies in the Wizard of Oz... At any rate, I loved that they were a flower that aren't normally talked about- usually its roses or lilacs or daisies. But they were beautiful poppies!!!!!!!!!
Okay, I'm a little sidetracked. What I really should be saying is, "GREAT JOB!!!!" :D
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I used poppies because this was based on a picture, and although I seriously doubt the picture is of poppies, as I was doing some research on yellow Scottish wildflowers, poppies came up and stuck with me. Simple as that, lol. I feel bad for James too, but am also with Lily. And yes, we know they get together so little bumps like this just make it more interesting, lol. Thanks again for the review! ~Gina :)
This left me in awe! It was truly genius, how you split it up into colors, and explained each one. I love the premise of this story! Lily, like a rainbow, a pure white prism of color, whereas Sirius is devoid of all color, an abyss, and wishing to have color fill his life.
That last part titled Red was so heart-wrenching. I almost couldn't bear imagining Lily lying there! It totally gave me a chills and a sick swooping sensation in my belly. Golly, you can write! Keep it up! I definitely want to read more...
What a morbid story from such an innocent looking picture!!!!!!!! I remember seeing that picture- I think you have done it great justice! :) beautifully done! I really like how you connected Petunia to not only her husband and child but also to her nephew. I just hope her madness doesn't harm her further...
Author's Response: Thank you very much for my first review. I really appreciate the feedback. As for it being morbid, I was going to do a much more innocent story of Petunia waiting for Harry and Ginny, but then I had this idea. I'm not sure what that says about my imagination, but I am very glad you liked the story.
Oh wow! I absolutely loved it! Poor Severus! And his poor parents... I'm glad you took the opportunity to delve into their minds. It really helps us to understand those characters better. And I just loved the emotion you poured into this! It was beautifully written! I think you should add more of the song to this story, since the lyrics are really powerful... :) but I still loved it!
Author's Response: Thanks for your lovely review. I think Severus is an interesting character, so it's very interesting to think about how his childhood and his parents might have been. I'm glad you thought it was emotive - I think there must be a lot of emotion involved for someone to want to stay behind as a ghost. As for the lyrics - I wasn't going to put any in at all, I don't think songfics have always worked for me, but then I was stuck for an ending and thought I'd put them in... so thanks for your suggestion, but I think I'll keep it the way it is :). Thanks again for taking the time to review!
~Katrina
This story was so touching! I felt a little numb in some places, and my eyes teared up... It was beautiful. I myself lost my brother four years ago, to an unknown cause, and it was hard to live after that, but somehow I keep going. I am hopeful that I get to see him again, though it seems that I'm going to have to wait awhile to do so. :'( but I'll survive...
Author's Response: I'm so sorry to hear about your brother. Trust that he'll be waiting for you whenever your time comes, and until then, make the most of the time you have been given because it's a precious gift! :) Thank you very much for the review; I'm glad you enjoyed the story.
Poor Remus! I think he spoke up too soon. Steve sounded normal enough- if Remus had just gotten to know him better, I think he could have been able to help Steve.
But, great story! It's nice to know what was going on with the werewolves- and disgusting Greyback. That werewolf had better never come near me!!!!!
Author's Response: Thanks -- yeah I wrote this story very quickly, and I think I should've sat down and paced it a bit more before submitting. I found this topic quite intriguing, so I'm pleased you liked it :)
So cute! Sharing a few licks of ice cream! :) I really enjoyed this short fiction. I love it when people add more background to Snape! Keep it up!
No it's beautiful! I love the internal battle Ron had with himself! It was pure genius! :) great job. I don't think anything needs to change.
Author's Response: Thank you.
Ron’s internal struggle was where this story started.

Wow! I think my favorite part was when Ron cursed Voldemort because he had almost killed his sister in that very chamber. It brought back do many memories! I think you did a phenomenal job on this missing moment! ;) since you captured that chamber so well, maybe you would consider writing the missing moment of when Ginny was down in the same chamber, crying, fussing, and finally losing consciousness... I know you would ace that! Plus, I'm eager to read a Tom Riddle fic, and my favorite book from the series was the CoS, so please consider writing this. :)
~Nagini Riddle
Author's Response: Hi there. Thanks so much for reading--I'm thrilled you enjoyed the fic and thought it worked. I don't see myself writing anything in the Chamber again though. I felt repetitive enough trying to recreate it from CoS without messing up any of JKR's description. It was fun this time, but I doubt I could do it again without boring myself to death. There are Tom Riddle fics out there, though, so happy hunting! Thanks again for reading and taking the time to review. I really appreciate it! ~ Lori
What a fun poem! I just love poetry of any kind (if you happen to look at my written stories and the reviews I've written, I think you would see that) and I really enjoyed this sweet poem! That last stanza just made me laugh! It captured Hermione perfectly. :)
~Nagini Riddle
What, no snake???? :) beautiful! I really enjoyed the messaging of uniting for a common cause! :)
Author's Response: Nagini Riddle,
WOOHOO! MY FIRST EVER REVIEW!!!(: I am so you glad that you enjoyed reading my poem! And yeah, there is no snake unfortunately. He was the one that was shunned away from the other three because his views were different. But in the end, "three will become one and one will become all." In my line of sight, all four Houses will re-unite and the balance will be stronger than ever.
I am so glad that you enjoyed my poem! Thank you so much for being my first review ever and hopefully there are much more to come! I will be posting many more of my works and maybe the one from booksie that you thought sounded much like Dumbledore's ideas.
Thanks again, Nagini Riddle for reading and reviewing this poem,
~crbluvsravenclaw (Cris)!!!(:
