Wow, this really is an amazing story! The way you've managed to combine what we knew of Tonks -- the clumsy Auror in HP -- with the complicated background of being in the Black family is really amazing and I couldn't find anything to complain about!
To be honest, I'd completely forgotten that Tonks was injured as well in OOTP, and I love how this becomes the starting point for her new journey. The relationship between Tonks & Sirius in your fanfics is always beautiful *sniff* but the Sirius here is very different from Marauder-era Sirius and I can well imagine he would have cared about Tonks enough to intervene Dumbledore-style in her near-death.
"Proud to be a 'Puff" should be printed on a tee!!
Author's Response: Thank you very much. This was written such a long time ago, so it's doubly wonderful when someone discovers the story and reviews it. ~Carole
Haha, everyone gets to thump Draco!! The coup de gras goes to Ginny however, as always...
Author's Response: Thanks for the review. This is a fairly grim collection of stories, and I wanted to lighten the load. People have accused me of Draco bashing. I have no idea why. ;-D -N-
Wow, clever story! I have a new opinion of Narcissa now...
Author's Response: Thank you. I really enjoyed writing this chapter. -N-
Aaaauw!! I just love the idea of Dudley actually working things out with Harry afterwards - I love the idea of him having a wizard son in the end, that was just brilliant.
Since the mutter "I don't think you're a waste of space" in book 7, I started to think perhaps, just maybe there was more to Big D than met the eye -- and I loved reading your story, it was a brilliant take on that, and beautiful without being too soppy.
That said, still - tears. But that's a good thing. :)
This was just so sweet and even reminded me a bit of the Beadle the Bard stories.
I thought the dwarf names were genius, and the way the story was told was very powerful - now I feel like taking a nap! Yawn!
The kids' accents were very sweet for me, it contributed to the essence of the story - I'm left with this image of softness, loving & childhood innocence.
The children in the story also aren't all named, and I think that was a good move - letting the fans spot who's who from the Epilogue.
The fairytale approach, the narrative, the blending of HP with the fairytale elements - everything was done masterfully, and I loved it.
Author's Response: Thank you!
This was a cotton candy sort of fic, wasn't it? Sweet, innocent, and fluffy...though you wouldn't want to make a (literary) diet of it.
