I'm a truck driver who was introduced to Harry Potter by my daughter in 1999. The books are fantastic, the movies are some of the best made, and the fanfic is better than that I've read in Star Trek, Buffy, and even the Xena universes.

BTW, the Sorting Hat put me exactly where I belong, in Gryffindor.

An excellent read with the main characters very true to JKR's rendition. Loved it! Especially since you didn't just throw them into each others' arms, but allowed the seeds of a real friendship be planted.

I'm sure you meant "bear" in that sentence. If she were to "bare" him she'd be undressing him...

Normally I avoid Draco/Hermione stories like I would a rabid dog. This is the first one I've read that I found believable. It pulled me into it without letting on that it was a D/H, held me in its grip, and persuaded me for once that a D/H relationship could be possible.

I enjoyed your exploration of the feelings of parents and other relatives on learning a child is so very different. JKR's characters have focused so much on the worst Muggles that we forget others would be very unlikely to react as negatively as they did to Harry, yet would be just as unlikely to consider it as wonderful as we fans believe we would. I also have to admire your story-telling skills--you drew me right into the story, introduced me to the characters without drawing attention to the fact you were doing it, and kept it all moving. Very well done!

You're got the core of what could be a great story here, but only that. At this point it's like watching a trailer for a coming film. And it's hard to read because of the abrupt transitions, with the characters barely seeming to register the stages of grief... Please consider doing this one again as a multi-chaptered story with MUCH more to it. What you gave us is SO good it's hard to believe you left out so much.

Excellent! I've wondered why JKR hasn't really told us more about Ron's strategic abilities since the first book... Since then his abillies been very subtly mentioned, almost hidden.

I found only one problem in your story... Bellatrix acting like a person with a soul! In most fanfics she's completely insane, as likely to kill Draco as anyone else! Actually, I think even psychotic killers like Bella still have normal, lucid moments when they'd regret the loss of their family members.
