Well, I just spend a good twenty minutes revamping my profile for this, and as soon as I submit it, I am informed to log back in! So I lost everything! I am nearly distraught. But I'll try to recreate this as best I can.
Hello, Potter fans! Or, as the case may be, non-Potter fans. But I don't know what you're doing here if you're a non-Potter fan. Very strange. I got the urge to revamp my profile after noticing how terse and emo and blah it was. Here goes.
I am sixteen years old. Yes, that's a start. And I'm a girl. I look remarkably like Hermione, only without the buck teeth. And my guy friends (however loose the term "friends" is) have yet to realize that yes, I am a girl.
Anyway, general interests and info. I ADORE musicals, Rent being my all-time favorite, with Wicked, Les Mis, Spamalot, and Phantom of the Opera being right up there too. I am a big fan of emo music, particularly Taking Back Sunday, The Academy Is..., the Rocket Summer, and Panic! At the Disco. I listen to some pop and Celtic stuff as well. Favorite movies include Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, Corpse Bride, and Pride & Prejudice. I have three adorable kitties and I love them. I also have awesome friends, including MNFF's very own SiriuslyPadfoot12. Check out her stuff! Um, my other hobbies tend to include being a mall rat and playing pool and reading. And not much else, ha.
What else should I say? Hmm, well, my favorite character in the Potterverse and possibly any other 'verse is Remus Lupin, because he is such a beautiful, sad man and nearly breaks my heart with every sweet, sensitive thing he says or does. My least favorite in the Potterverse is probably Fenrir Greyback, because he was one creepy man. Favorite ship? Not Remus/Tonks…Remus/Me! Bahaha, I jest. Remus + Tonks = OTP, my friends.
Coming soon!An "Other Pairing" story starring a very average Muggle woman and a lad who is, if not a family favorite, at least a female favorite.
In Progress...well, I started them, anyway...A story written in the forms of two diaries by two sisters, Aine and Kate, as they embark on their delayed sixth and seventh years at Hogwarts. Set in the Marauder Era and may include a little Marauder romance, too!
Also, another Marauder story, set in their seventh year, from the POV of one Delilah "Lucky" Dinsmore, a 17-year-old petty thief and amateur witch who's saved from the law's wrath by Dumbledore...only to meet a different sort of wrath in the halls of Hogwarts.
Nominated for a Quicksilver Quill for Best Romance-Non Canon 2007, 2008, and 2009. In 2010 mods changed the rules (they got tired of the same fics being nominated ^_~) so no more QQ hopes, but that's okay. No proof is needed that Draco/Ginny = love.
* Written before the HBP, this tale presents an alternate sixth year in which Dumbledore lives, Draco is more than a foil to Harry, and Blaise Zabini is a girl. I hope readers who ship Draco/Ginny will enjoy the story which includes dancing with faeries, Celtic and Norse mythology, school holidays in London and Spain, and loads of fantasy and romance. "Is this a kissing book?" (to quote the Princess Bride) Yes, it is. *
(Warnings were added for safety, due to brief allusions in later chapters, not graphic content.)
*shakes head* I'll freely admit it, Kerichi - you have some sort of gift. To think I'd find myself liking a Draco/Ginny story....putting it on my favorite's list, no less! Well, I hope you're proud. Bahaha, I jest, I jest. I love the Shakespeare, first off, I'm quite a fan of the Bard. This is one of those plots that makes my head spin in a good way. Blaise as a girl is genius, and you've done so well with her character. Props also for Ginny, Draco (a decently in-character Draco, I'm shocked and amazed), and Pansy. I'm not sure how I feel about the Draco-luring-Ginny-in-her-first-year bit, but no harm. I think one of my favorite parts so far was Blaise thinking about Snape's "sexy voice" and then hoping he wouldn't use Legilimency. Brilliant, that. This is a good break from the Trio, although I'm starting to wonder where they've gone. That's all I can think of at the moment, but I *really* look forward to more. Great, now you've got an update-hungry, rabid reviewer on your case. :)
Author's Response: Thank you so much for the abfab review! I got all misty before chanting 'Yay, Yay, Yay!' ^_^ You could always justify liking it with "it's AU and got Shakespeare", LOL. Never fear, trio is included, they're just secondary characters. ^_~ I'm going to try my hardest to update twice a week (got one in the queue now, will throw another in after Moonlight validates Fri morning) so I'm thrilled you want me to. Thanks for the amazing encouragement! ^_^
Mmm, yeah, pretend my review for chapter one is right here. Right where this one is. Er. Have another ten.
Author's Response: Hey, I heart each and every review...especially ones like yours! I didn't even notice what chap it was for I was so chuffed by the content! ^_^
Ooh, what a tricky ending. I must say, I did rather want the two to meet again. But overall, very deep, and beautiful word choice, as always. One little nitpick, though...
"The musical world mourned the two smote stars..."
Should the smote be a smitten? The two smitten stars? I hate how smitten is always associated with love, but I think smitten is technically the right tense of smote in this case. Otherwise, lovely! (And also, *fuzzies* at the name mention. Whee.)
Author's Response: Thanks again, MM! I figure the musical/magical community is small enough that they\'ll meet somewhere down the road; you know, I\'m surprised you call the ending tricky, as that\'s the word that best describes the laboring and wavering that went on behind the scenes. Glad you thought it worked out in its way; thanks for reviewing and all that, I really do appreciate it. =)
Oooh, and thanks for catching that. I thought \"smote\" was an adjective, but I checked just now and it seems to be an inflected verb. I\'ll go edit; hopefully people will work out that they were struck down, and not in love. ;-)
This is such an odd look at the Potterverse...but so indescribably eloquent and heartbreakingly beautiful. Are you a violin player, or did you just choose the violin for the story? Either way, it fits well. Wonderful expressive metaphors in this story, gorgeous imagery -- I'll watch for the next chapter!
Author's Response: Thank you, MM!! I\'m not a violin player myself-- but they\'re possibly my favorite instrument, so there you have it. =)
I\'m glad you like the \"ambience\" ... JK does make it so much fun to play with her world. And thanks for watching - hang tight, I\'m hoping to wrap up before my vacation ends! ^^;
Awww, that's so sweet! At a couple points, I thought Remus seemed a bit OOC, like the *facepalm* thing...I can see Remus talking to himself, but not addressing himself by name, if that makes sense. Other than that, it's great! I can see Remus being really worried about her waking up...that's so cute. ^_^ Really liked all of Tonks's mental images and her reactions. I'm more specifically replying to let you know that I'd planned a story a bit like this a couple months ago, titled, ironically, The Wakening (but I'm changing that), just hadn't gotten around to writing any more than an intro. It's different in many ways, but it's set at the same time and has a similar beginning. In case you ever happened to read it, I didn't want you to think I'd copied it! I like yours better, anyway, I just need mine to help along my series. Just thought you should know! And this is a great story -- KEEP WRITING!
Author's Response: Thanks for the review. Also thanks for letting me know about the story you\'re planning to write - I look forward to reading it (I can\'t get enough of the Remus/Tonks fics).
I'm not sure how I feel about the non-canon thing (*canon lover*) but THANK YOU. FINALLY, SOME REMUS/TONKS NAUGHTINESS. This pairing is entirely too chaste sometimes. I do like this fic, like your diction. Is it really over? Alas. *big sad anime eyes* But bravo! Good fic while it lasted!
Author's Response: I\'m glad you liked it. I thought they needed some finished stories and naughtiness as well. Thanks for reviewing. -----RMV
Ooh, good characterization! They're all very well in-character. And great use of canon! Plus, it's Remus/Tonks...who could resist? I'll add this to my favorites and keep an eye on it! :)
Author's Response: Thanks a lot, hope you continue to read and enjoy this one!
Aww! That was cute. I like your Tonks. She's not all mopey and gushing everywhere like certain other people's. *coughminecough* And Molly =
Author's Response: Oh my gosh! Thank you so much for reviewing. I really love your stuff; you\'re an awesome writer. I can\'t believe you reviewed my stuff. Thanks a bunch!
