Hello, I'm Hermione_Rocks, though you may call me Anna, or D.E, or Mrs. Snape . . . whatever flies your kite. I'm a high school student who is hopelessly obsessed with many things, such as Harry Potter, musicals (current favorite is Sweeney Todd), books/reading, various Internet web-sites, and food.
As you can probably tell, I have an incurable love for writing fan-fiction. Would I do better to be working on original fiction? Probably. But at the moment, I just want to have fun with writing. One day I hope to be published, but I'm really not in any rush. Right now, I just want to enjoy all this. :)
I hope you find something you'd like to read while you're here, and please leave a review to let me know your thoughts. I'm always looking for feedback, good or bad.
I really like it. The interactions between the Black cousins are realistic and well thought out. Good job!
Fabulous poem. It's very chilling, and the rhyme scheme is really good too. Poor Severus though...
Author's Response: Thanks! Yes... poor Snape.
I really enjoyed this. It was slightly slow, but being a first chapter this is often the case. I'll be watching for a update!
Author's Response: I'll be updating as soon as possible. There will be some action coming in the next chapter.
Aww...the doggy's dead. :( I thought that James giving Sirius the camera was really sweet. Great chapter!
Author's Response: Thank you so much for commenting! Feedback! I THRIVE on feedback! Chappy 7 is coming, but slower than I\'d like! Ugh! Thanks for reading! <3
Hey, just started reading and I'm really enjoying it! Regulus is really cute, and the relationship between the Marauders is very interesting. Great job!
Author's Response: Thank you! New readers makes my tummy do flops! Yeah! *giggles* Regulus is just to cute he makes my heart ache *pets him*. Yes, I\'m high on caffeine right now so this response means nil...pfft. Oh well. Thank you so much for reading tho! Makes my face smile!
Great job, like always. :)
Author's Response: Thank you!!!! And thank you for reading & reviewing!!! =D
Severus Snape has ambitions to rise above his humble beginnings. Eris Greyback has a family debt to repay. Their romance is a more complicated brew than the trickiest of potions. SSEG, LEJP. The sequel, The Potions Master's Apprentice, is also complete.
*Winner of the 2007 QSQ Award for Best Marauder Era Story*
Yay! It was perfect, and I'm glad it's a happy ending. Looking forward to the sequel! :)
Author's Response: Thank you for looking forward to the sequel. I think you\'ll enjoy the adult shift of the story and the Welsh location!
Just started this story a few days ago, and I really like it! Eris is a very well-rounded OC, and I like your portrayal of Severus. :) Excellent story!
Author's Response: Thank you! ^_^ I kept the HP version of the Mary Sue Litmus Test in mind when I started writing. LOL. No Marauder triangles, no saving the day, no mean girls disliking her for being pretty and smart, snicker, snicker, just a romance between Snape and a girl whose family background helps her understand his ambitions, even if she doesn\'t share them.
I loved Severus' house tour. It was just so...him (sorry, can't think of how else to describe it :), and the whole scene was very entertaining. Eager for Eris' reasonings in next chapter...
Author's Response: That\'s the perfect way to describe it! ^_^ Eris will have her reasons, but will Severus listen? *dun dun dun* :D
Very nice. I also like how you are using the Knights idea in this story. And, this is small but it made me smile: Narcissa's daydream. :) Great job!
Author's Response: I\'ve portrayed Narcissa in another story like Patsy in Absolutely Fabulous- snarky, hasn\'t eaten food since \'73, drinks her meals, LOL, but I like this Narcissa even more, so I\'m glad her dream made you smile! :)
And just when I thought there was going to be a happy ending...! :O Well, I still really enjoyed this chapter, and I thought Eris and Lily's friendship (if you could call it that...) was well done. Update soon!
Author's Response: It aint over until the train pulls out of Hogwarts, lol, but I\'m glad you liked the girls bonding over mutual interests :) and will definitely update soon!
Very funny, and also surprisingly in character for such a humorous fic. Nice job. :)
Wow, what a powerful one-shot. I really liked how you brought them together through such absolute need. How they both became so drawn to each other because of their bond, and then how it spread to actually caring for one another.
I loved the bond that you created between them. I'd be interested to know a little more about it, actually; did someone create it? Can only witches/wizards possess it, or can other magical beings have it too? I really like how you described the brilliant color affects and surges of power they both experienced. And how you put Severus in the 'weaker' position because of the bond. He needs to be in that place once in a while. ;)
I'm wondering how Hermione feels about now working for Voldemort and against Harry. If you ever wrote a sequel I think that's one thing that should definitely be included. Does she not care that she's working against Harry as long as she is with Severus? Or is she secretly still trying to help him?
Overall, this was a brilliant one-shot. I am very impressed at your ability to write such a desperate and vivid romance between these two characters. *applauds* Well done.
Author's Response: Thanks for your thoughtful and extensive review. I really like hearing what readers thought about my stories--feed back is so essential.
I have recently posted a companion piece to Colors, called Human Touch. It is on Ashwinder, The Pertulant Poetess and FanFiction.net. Some of the questions you asked are answered there, but mostly, it is the story from Snapes POV with some backstory thrown in.
If you like my style, I also have other fics posted on those sites. Thanks again for your extravagant praise and for taking the time to leave a review.
Aww. That was terribly sad, yet terribly beautiful too, if that makes any sense. Great work!
Author's Response: I\'m glad you like it. Thanks for the review.
Very nice! I liked how Cho was portrayed in this. And as a random side note, I love this song. :)
Author's Response: Thanks for the review! Yeah, i love this song, too.
I'm really enjoying this story. It's a great plot line, how she admits to liking Severus right up front, without much choice in the matter. And you are keeping both Hermione and Severus wonderfully IC, which is very nice. Severus is so. . .ah, he's just so Snape-ish, how he's playing these games with her! :D Great fic!
Still really enjoying this. And I'm glad you haven't forgotten about Ron in this fic either; some authors seem to pretend he(and his feelings for Hermione) never existed.
One nit-pick, this line:
In one fell swoop, Mrs. Weasley had completely and totally humiliated her.
I think you mean in one full swoop. Otherwise, fantastic! :D
*grins* That is so like Severus, to ask her on a date in that way. Lol. Another excellent chapter, great job!
Wow, there are tears in my eyes. That was really powerful, excellent work.
Author's Response: Yeah, this was a bit more what I was aiming towards. Thanks for taking the time to review!
Aw, Elle! That was sweet. I'm actually starting to soften towards Bellatrix, especially after that. :) The relationship between Tonks and Bellatrix was really interesting. How sad that that is probably as close as they will ever get. Great job!!
Author's Response: *huggles Anna* Thanks for the review. I love writing about Tonks and Bella. Their relationship is just so unique. I actually considered writing a sequal to this where they meet up during to war, but who knows if that will ever get done.
Anyway, thanks so much for the review and I\'m glad you enjoyed it. I\'m really happy to hear that you\'re softening towards Bella. *huggles Bella*
