I know what you're thinking. You're probably thinking, What kind of username is x_lily_evans_x? And I agree whole-heartedly with you. x_lily_evans_x is a username that I'd chosen at the tender age of thirteen and five-sixths, and while most people at that age were capable of thinking wise beyond their years, I was, very unfortunately, not one of their number. And then now, two years on, when I'm capable of a higher level of thinking, I've wanted to change my penname loads of times, but it's just not allowed here. And because I have quite a number of stories up, I just simply cannot be bothered to sign up for a new account. So I'm stuck with that lousy penname. The end.

The Cause by Pussycat123

Summary: Marty Price works for The Cause, which involves several campaigns and petitions on a weekly basis. It has become common knowledge within Hogwarts that if you see her coming towards you with a clipboard, you should turn and walk the other way. Or perhaps deny all grasp of the English language. And if this isn’t eccentric enough, there’s also her obsessive written observations of four boys in her year, which will one day make a rather interesting book ...
Remus Lupin, meanwhile, has always been a little different, too. Poor, sweet Remus Lupin is, to the casual observer, the picture of a sensible, hard working student. However, he has three friends who have done more for him than anyone knows and they have done this because of his troubled past, troubled present and troubled future. Why the gloominess? Because Remus Lupin just so happens to be a werewolf.
So what could these two possibly have in common? And how can their stories possibly connect?

Date: 06/08/08 Title: Chapter 14: Very Bohemian
It must have been really fun for you to write, because it was really fun for me to read. (: This fic never fails to make me laugh. I love the way all the characters interact with one another, especially the Marauders. They're so wonderfully funny and they just reek of Marauderness. I especially loved this bit:
“It will be a song to express our feelings of anguish in a dramatic and metaphorical way. We can wear chains to symbolise how we have tied ourselves to guilt, and whip ourselves on stage to show our remorse. We can also writhe around in emotional agony as we sing the deep, mournful tenor lyrics of self-loathing and sorrow. It will be very bohemian.”
There is a pause. “It will be downright mentally scarring,” Sirius says, after a moment of consideration. “She might think we’re not taking it seriously.”
“Are you kidding? Did you not hear the part about the self-flagellation?” James sounds appalled at his best friend’s ignorance.
The part where James was going on about whipping themselves and being in emotional agony just made me laugh. I can't wait till you update. (:

Things are finally moving for Remus and Marty. I think Remus is so funny, the way he's worried that he might jump her bones. Great chapter as usual, I loved all the little Marauders stories that take place in Hogsmede. I can't wait fr the protest. (:

I did enjoy it! I loved the way you characterised Moony, he's so dry and sarcastic but also Mr Nice Guy at the same time. Perfect! Also, the way you handled all the Marauders was commendable. Great job!

Hilarious! I loved how you made Marty sound like a scientist studying her specimens.
I am definitely going to continue reading this story.
PS Also, I wonder, is there going to be this sweet little friendship between Remus and Marty?

Wow, I can't believe how forgiving Marty is. I probably would never have forgiven Phyll for at least a week if it'd happened to me. Anyway, it's been a long time since I either read or reviewed this fanfiction, but I saw it today and decided to pick up where I left off the last time. I'm so glad I did that. (To heck with my schoolwork that's due tomorrow!)
I think your story is really sweet. There are a lot of sort of quietly sweet moments where you don't actually go aww, but you quietly appreciate it. I hope you understand what I mean. I'm listening to music from Hayao Miyazaki's films (Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away) so I'm feeling very deep and philosophical, which isn't a very good thing because I don't quite make sense when I'm being deep and philosophical. Yes. So back to the point. You're doing a wonderful job on this story, and I can't wait to read more!

Author's Response: Marty IS very forgiving, you might say too much so - she\'s also so used to not being liked, that she wouildn\'t want to jeopardise her new position now, so is probably much more inclined to let things slide a bit ... rather like Remus himself, in fact. And I\'m glad that my attempts as subtlety are at least occasionally working, because sometimes if I\'m trying to be subtle, I will either overdo it, or it won\'t be there at all. So hooray! OMG. I can't believe Marty's mum's dead! OMG. I'm still in shock. Poor, poor Marty. I wonder what's she going to do now? Well, I loved this chapter! As usual, I think you've got everyone in character, and I like how it's Marty who actually makes Sirius feel really guilty. The things about Lily not feeling very comfortable with the other girls seems little sudden to me, though. But otherwise I thoroughly enjoyed reading the new chapters as always.

Author's Response: Well, Lily never truly fit in with them because of that Snape guy (sorry, I mean, Severus) and now he\'s gone, she\'s been with the other girls more, but it\'s not the same. Let\'s be honest, the other Dorm girls are perfectly nice, but not particularly interesting. So Lily would fit in, but not as naturally as she does with Marty. Also, it probably DOES seem sudden because we haven\'t really seen much of her until now, apart from the occaisional scene. Anyway, I\'m just making excuses, sorry.
