~LucillaJoanna (LJ)aka lucilla_pauie (here) aka Dayang Lucilla (dramione.org/ff.net) is busy-busy with original fiction. But every now and then she gets a fit of fan fiction, like allergy. A beloved allergy.

I'm a Filipina, living in the Philippines, spending my waking hours reading and writing. I have high hopes, like most everyone, but for now, I relish writing and being read here.

The stories you'll find here are a mad medley. I love the HP-universe in its entirety, and so write vastly within this vast world of people and eras. However, I don't stray far from romance-- you know, pairings and life lemons. I love those quotes that more often than not end up hackneyed in email/SMS forwards. If I don't quote them directly, they inspire the pieces you'll see here.

Pairings:

I don't think there's one I can't or won't write (except slash, younger generation/older generation, OC's). I was hooked into fan fiction for these snippets of sweets we don't get to read from the HP books. Even though I write horror in RL, I'm a very girly girl, the kind that squeals while reading the Twilight series even for the nth time. Incidentally, unless they're Joyce Carol Oates or Neil Gaiman or maybe William Faulkner come back to life, I scoff at those who scoff at Twilight (friendly&fond scoffing, now. ^_^ Everyone's entitled to their own tastes and opinions, aye?). Back to topic, it's a disappointment to shippers to favorite me because I write Dramione this week, and then write a Ron/Hermione the next. Hee.

Asked what my OTP is, I'll say it's Ron/Hermione, but that's only because I love Hermione and I'm loyal to what JKR decided. But I think I don't have an OTP. I ride, I ship, I bike and even cook them all. I have Haxime and Frangelina. I also have a list of the pairings I have yet to try, but I'm too immersed in three WIP's, both here and in RL.

General Fics:

If not in the Romance subcats, my stories go here. They're all dear to me. They're mostly Challenge entries, so they were written with motives. ^_^ Five are Post-DH yarns, and two of these (Little Things; A Shower of Stardust) concentrate on the white noise after the War.

Great Lady of Magic was originally five chapters, but due to the Challenge deadline, became a one-shot instead. The cramming and compression seemed to have worked nonetheless; it's my first First Place since I started joining the Challenges in New Year 2007!

The Prince's Unshared Tale: Uncut is my little peace offering to Snape, whom I have slandered until July 22, 2007. Still, you have to admit he's been very stubborn and stupid.

The Art of Weaselling: I enjoyed this one so much. I liked Neville's grandma's inveigling tactics and Great Uncle Algie's slyness. What is One Picture Worth? is my stab at a historical. Loved the research and the flowery, courtly English I had to use, though I tried not to make it a la Shakespeare too much.

Bonds of Magic has been solicited into someone's blog during the DH fever. It still comes up when I google my real name. I'm embarassed, LOL. It was too fluffy compared to the book. Phew.

Alternate Universe:

Dark/Angst, I won't; Humor, I can't. I think Ron's Best Friend can be classified as the latter, but to be safe from sneers, I just put it into Ron/Hermione. AU is the only other cat I have here. How to Hold Sway is very much at the top of my favorites and I'm thinking of expanding on some questions it triggered from readers. I originally posted it under Dramione after the Challenge finished, but shippers complained. Hehe.

At the Forums:

This will be the "Beta Forums" you see on the Nav Bar to the side. I haunt General Fan Fiction Discussion, Madam Pomfrey's Character Clinic, The Reference Desk, The Beta Guild, and of course, SPEW (the Society for the Promotion of Proper Evaluation for Writers by Readers). I'm a very loyal Hufflepuff, redundancy intended. I'm not active in the common room (because if I join the games, I'll be addicted!), but I do my small part.

Real Life:

I've had my first book, so to speak (hehe), in December 2007, when my story was included in the third annual run of the anthology, Philippine Speculative Fiction. That's the name for the genre of fantasy/horror/scifi and the cracks in between. My story's title is Hamog (dew).

I also write book reviews, handling Classics, Contemporary Classics and the Trivia and Quiz sections of READ magazine. I've also landed the On Reading two-page spread and the Seasonal Review (with my pic!). I nearly choked on my chicken burger when I was first included in the masthead.

In December 2005, which is not too long ago, and which is why I'm rather lazy, I won First Place in a nationwide essay contest regarding teen pregnancy (sponsored by The Advocates for Youth Philippines Foundation, Pringles and UNFPA). I never used the theme park tickets, I still have the box of feminine wash sachets and karaoke bar gift certificates, and the first things I bought with the money were books: The Count of Monte Cristo; On Writing; Stardust; The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe; By The River Piedra, I Sat Down and Wept; The Alchemist; Flipped; The Phantom of the Opera; Wuthering Heights...

I dream about shopping for this many books in one go again. I earn bookstore GC's now, but I only get five books at most. *sigh*

I have been deaf since I was thirteen due to meningitis. My mania for books, fan fiction, and scripts is understandable, no? I'm so glad I'm not blind. Meningitis can be that cruel.

It has been kind to me, however. I'm happy. Sometimes people don't take me seriously because I'm too bubbly. So here I did try to be sober. Hemhem.

I have two brothers and one sister. Onchie is a Mining Engineering junior, Josh is in seventh grade and Jouie is in third grade.

I have a mongrel, Jego.

I love egg yolks.

I moderate a local Harry Potter club, MaCofWiz, in which I'm in Ravenclaw, and in which I'm the one who almost always plans and plots the outings.

I was born under Libra, Tiger and the hazelnut tree. ^_^

When Darkness Did Surround Us by MagEd

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: 2007 QSQ Awards Runner-up for Best Post-Hogwarts

Petunia Dursley is enjoying dinner with her family when someone starts pounding on the door. Ready to tell them off for being so rude and refusing to leave when they didn't answer at first, Petunia opens the door to have a baby shoved into her arms and told she is his only family. Years after the great Harry Potter defeated Voldemort, Death Eaters have risen to power and taken over Hogsmeade, Hogwarts, and even the Ministry of Magic. Their marriages announced invalid, their children in danger and their lives hanging by a thread, the heroes of the war with Voldemort must once again take a stand against evil.

H/G and R/Hr

(pre-Deathly Hallows)

*Completed*

*Quote from The Epilogue*

Suddenly Harry was kissing her as if he couldn’t resist the temptation. There was a kind of frenzy to the kiss at first, a kind of desperate need, but it melted into something soft and sweet and gentle, a promise of a future when kisses would never be limited. When they broke apart he rested his forehead on hers, sprinkling a few affectionate butterfly kisses across her face. “I love you,” he murmured.

whoa! I just couldn't resist--I looked at this last update to see...

anyway, I didn't finish it yet, I just had to see that little excerpt you put in the summary. And here I go: a two-month-old baby can't eat yet! Babies start weaning to half-solid foods only from six months onwards. Would it hurt to make James a bit older? He'll still be a precious infant at seven months...but the timeline of the story might get shaken, I know... Well, anyway... Perhaps you can just say that wizarding babies start on solids way earlier! *giggles* Improvise, Maggie! I love this story. And I laughed so much at Fred's joie de vivre.

A Destiny in Time by Gmariam

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: Harry Potter has fulfilled his destiny, and survived his final confrontation with Voldemort; the Dark Lord has been vanquished, but at a terrible price. Dozens are dead, including some of those closest to Harry, and he blames only himself for failing them. Desperate, he returns to Hogwarts hoping to change what has happened and save those he loves. In doing so he unknowingly saves himself, but the consequences require great sacrifice.

This short story is now complete. It begins on the battlefield just after Harry’s duel with Voldemort, and follows Harry as he tries desperately to right the mistakes of the past, only to rewrite his own future.

okay, Gina, here I am at last, so sorry for being late! to make up, i'll flood you with reviews for each chapter! ^_^

bollocks! it was funny! seems our professor McGonagall has a not-so-prissy side to her after all--interesting side humor, hehe.

and then, let me say what others might have already said and noticed long before me--you really do have a knack for Dumby, his argument with Harry here rang true and as annoying as in the 5th and 6th books, and I mean that as a compliment, you have to admit Dumbledore has this tendency to babble calmly when what you'd like is some panic for company and comfort. ;)

Author's Response: Thanks for coming back to finish the story, it\'s such an important story to me that I\'m thrilled when someone reads it. I really appreciate all the reviews (even if I am responding out of order, lol) Thanks very much for the compliments on Dumbledore! I really enjoy writing him. My August challenge story was all about him, Portrait of a Lost Love, if you\'d like to read more about him. I\'m so glad you enjoyed this chapter, angsty!Harry and all. Hope you like the rest! Thanks for continuing with the story and for leaving such wonderful reviews!! ~Gina :)

oh that was a cute patronus for Ron, a terrier! nice idea!

*loses grin* those were a lot of curses for Hermione, i winced so much in this chapter.

Author's Response: Ron\'s Patronus is actually canon, I did my research. :D I\'m glad you enjoyed this chapter, hard as it is to watch everyone fight such a difficult battle; it only gets worse, as you already know. Thanks for reading and leaving such nice reviews!! ~Gina :)

huh, okay, for once, i'll concede about Snape. ^_^

anyway, wow.

"With a sound like the shattering of a hundred glass orbs, a brilliant yellow light tore through the air toward Voldemort and hit him in the chest as he turned."

great imagery and stimulation, gina! a writer once said that in every story, 'a movie must be in rough cut'. you did well in that regard. i saw everything as if i was there in the final battle, though i wouldn't like it to be this gruesome. (denial queen)

Author's Response: Thanks for the compliments! This battle was a bear to write!! And I\'m glad to hear you might just give Snape a break - I do think he will do something heroic for Harry in the last book, so we\'ll see in a few months! Thanks for continuing and for the great reviews!! ~Gina :)

The victory was BITTER.

That's it, just bitter, not like dark chocolate at all, you witch! ^_^

huhu...

anyway, my sound effects and ranting aside, still great chapter. you did warn us about character death and gruesomeness, right? gruesome, gruesome, gruesome, to kill the boy-who-lived!

oh, and nice melodrama from Ron, very in-character of him to rant at Dumby's grave, i think. *sigh and sniffle*

Author's Response: I\'m on my lunch break reading your reviews and I thought to myself after chapter four - \"She is just going to kill me after she reads the next bit!\" LOL Yes, it is bitter, and I really thought hard about it turning out differently, but I could not in good conscience send Harry back to save someone without there being a consequence. *sigh* \'Tis sad, I know. Poor Ron, I am glad you found him in character. I wrote that last bit as a drabble, and pretty much built the chapter around it. Thanks so much for the reviews!! ~Gina :)

oh, right, good one about the Time-turner. I was just about to say that in canon, it would be good that they were ALL destroyed, but then now i see how Dumby's keeping was safe and convenient after all.

oh, and Gin, i will confess now that i haven't read the next chapters after the first during our PM's, so please don't be offended and think that i took your Disillusionment Charm idea without acknowledgment! hihi! ^-^ been busy just then, see.

*sigh and sniffle* Ron and Harry's friendship was captured like a perfect photo here, and Harry's words to Hermione actually made me choke with grief, no exaggerating. this was a lovely story, every detail was tied up neatly. that should make up for the stupendously sad denouement.

cheers! (ngee!)
~joanna

Author's Response: Well, I stole the Disillusionment Charm from Professor Moody, so I can hardly take credit. ;) I\'m so glad you read this story and (hopefully) enjoyed it. This story means a lot to me and to share it and receive such wonderful reviews means a lot. I\'m glad I tied it all up, I keep expecting someone to call me on something, lol. It is sad, I know, but there is that bit of hope at the end, yes? Thanks again for reading this story and for all your great reviews!! ~Gina :)

back to the story, i saw a reference to this from your duelling thread. the dueller was in awe...like me now. i see why. ^_^

~joanna

Author's Response: Hi Joanna! Thanks so much for reading this story, it goes with the other one you read about Harry\'s final battle. I\'m thrilled you enjoyed it as well. It was really fun to write something that was actually quite different for me. Thank you so much for the great review, and for reviving my dueling club thread! Your questions were great. Note to my readers: This story has been on hiatus forever due to a variety of factors. I do hope to finish it some day, but don't hold your breath. Also, this is NOT a Dramione nor will I change it to be one. Lastly, I am in the process of rewriting this story so bear with me.

i loved A Perfect Christmas, and An Uplifting Adventure too. :)

Author's Response: Wow, thank you for the amazing compliments! You are just too kind! *blushes* I\'m so glad you liked this story, and thrilled you picked up on some of the deeper themes I wanted to work into the context of a spooky ghost story. Snowflakes by Winged Artemis

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: During Christmas break in his sixth year, Harry has some company over the holidays. He and Ginny have a sweet, heartwarming Christmas day together, filled with snowflakes, gift exchanges, and a heating fire.

Hello, Hannah,

Here is a SPEW review!

She stood silently at the window, her mouth was framed upwards, and her briefly combed red hair hung loosely near her shoulders. A flush licked her cheeks, and freckles danced on her face. Her focus was stern, for she stood in curtain of stillness, although her delicate nose inhaled rhythmically, taking in the scent of her surroundings.

A lovely paragraph full of personification, which gracefully led to an adorable characteristic of Harry, too! After reading these first sentences, I sighed in satisfaction.

She abated, glad for its warmth. What do you mean by 'abated'? Curled up? If yes, 'curled up' is infinitely the better phrase.

Also, you have too much dialogue attribution in places. Some were unnecessary, the actions after their words could have been narrated separately (He wrapped his arms around his waist... He hugged her tighter...) without the attributions, because we already know there are only two of them here.

"People come from the same place, as do snowflakes - from the sky. They have a journey changing due to wind, as they get blown all over the place, a symbol of our hectic lives. Then, they land simultaneously, as people in love are brought together. And they mold together as one. After it all, they melt into water and are reborn again." --I'll echo Harry's reply. You gave an eloquent analogy here. So nice and quote-worthy! Although, the way you wrote it is a little too stilted for Ginny. You know what I mean? If I place this quote somewhere and have people guess who said it, they'll answer Dumbledore or Hermione, not Ginny. Even with the 'all over the place', it's too stiff, sentimental and formal for our redheaded gal, who must have resolved to do better after the COS Valentine's fiasco!

And 'vex', though a synonym of 'tease', is a poor substitute, and is used in a different context.

After walking in silence, they found themselves at giant doors... and 'yard' completely threw me off about their location. We can hardly call the Hogwarts grounds 'yard', can we? Hehe. And to mend this discover-y feel like the place isn't theirs or is new, instead of 'they found themselves at giant doors...', 'they reached the giant doors...' will be better.

"...slid ON a pair of simple silver earrings..." "...an emerald PENDANT on a silver chain..." (chain and necklace are the same).

And hmm, after your quite literary beginning, your ending felt rushed and not as warm. No embarassed feelings at all on Ginny's part about her Harry-clippings-collection? No anxiety at all that Harry might not like it? After all, we know how Harry hated publicity after the Trizizard.

So there, Hannah. Your ending can do with some improvements. And it will be worth the effort and revision, because you have a nice Christmassy fic here, and I'm glad Abigail has posted it in the Cat Patrol. *wink*

~Joanna

Author's Response: Whoa, thank you so much! I will most certainly take all this into consideration! Right now, I\'m just working on my other stories, but I will definitely come back and re-work this. Thank you so so much!

oh my! how stupefying! ^_^
this was clever. very canon, since we know hermione is forever out of reach of draco's. i liked it! and unlike some others here, you managed the SS with elegant subtlety. :)

Author's Response: I didn\'t want to fall into very descriptive sexual situations because I don\'t think it would have added anything useful to this story. It wasn\'t the important part of the plot anyway. I like that you think it was canon since I prefer that kind of story... Thank you for your review!
