Meant To Be by chloish

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: "What can I say?" James shrugged his shoulders. "We are just obviously,"

"Completely,"

"Irrefutably,"

"Logically,"

"Undeniably,"

"Unfortunately,"

James laughed, "Meant to be."

Lily Evans and James Potter share absolutely nothing in common, not even their feelings for each other. Lily, perceived as a ‘model student,’ detests the handsome, popular, Quidditch star James, who she thinks to be something of a git. James, on the contrary, has been infatuated with Lily for years, and has let her and the whole school know it.

As time progresses into Voldemort’s ‘reign of terror,’ the two have to learn to trust, tolerate, and love each other.

Please note, this story is incomplete, and will likely remain so for a long time. I apologize!

This is definately one of the most enjoyable Lily/James stories I have read. I'm so sorry to hear about you losing the next chapter! I know how difficult it can be to put effort into something and then have to redo it. Best of luck on that, if you choose to do so!

The Unseemly Proposal by sparx

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: The reign of Voldermort comes to an end, and with it ends the prestige and power Lucius Malfoy once had in the Wizarding World. In order to regain the respect of his fellow wizards and to make them believe that he has turned over a new leaf (which he actually hasn't) and has graciously accepted muggles and Mudbloods, Lucius asks Hermione, a Mudblood, to marry his son, Draco, a pure-blood. Obviously, they both refuse, but Lucius isn't going to give up easily. After all, he wants his status back. He still has a few tricks up his sleeve and is determined to play match-maker. What happens next is a series of events that serve only to bring Hermione and Draco closer, both literally and figuratively speaking. Read to find out how this one unseemly proposal causes absolute chaos in their lives! THIS STORY IS NOT HBP and DH COMPATIBLE! Hey all! Check out my personal info for the expected date of the next update. =)

I’d just like to point out to all those reviewers who are up in arms over the long time between updates: For some reason, the date in the summary of this story regarding the latest update is incorrect. According to the e-mail notification for chapter 38, this story was actually updated in November of 2007. If you look at the date of the first review of chapter 38, you will see that the date is November 5, 2007. That’s less than 3 months ago :)

Sparx: Wonderful story, I look forward to the next chapter!

Dear Lily by chloish

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary:

Messrs. Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs -- These names are known by every person in Hogwarts. These names, and an envelope with a scarlet wax seal bearing the letters: MWPP.

The teachers dread it, the students revel in it...but who are these 'Marauders,' as they are called? That's just it. Nobody knows. Most every prank Hogwarts sees is at the hands of these mysterious Marauders, and the perpetrators always walk free. They could never be caught. You can’t catch phantoms.

Lily Evans is just as curious as the next student as to who these Marauders are, but her curiosity is transformed into a hungry need, when she receives a letter herself from a certain Mr. Prongs. [This story is slightly AU, but more on that in the author's note at the end.]

Fantastic! You're very talented; I'm quite impressed! I think my favorite line was: "Did you just randomly wake up one morning saying, ‘I think I‘ll learn to be an Animagus today?" That just cracked me up!

Author's Response: Thanks Karalyn! I\'m glad you liked it! Hehe, I enjoyed writing that, because I was trying to think of how Lily would react, and I realized that if I found out someone had done something as impressive and crazy as that without so much as a shrug of the shoulder, that would be my reaction. That, accompanied with \"What\'s WRONG with you?\" x) Thanks for the review. :)

I have been reading your stories about Lupin and Tonks over the past few days, and I can no longer resist leaving a lengthy review to tell you how much I have enjoyed them.

First of all, your plots are entertaining and engaging. It’s been a long time since I’ve stayed up late so that I can keep reading a fanfiction (heck, it’s been a long time – DH being the exception – since I’ve stayed up late to read anything!) I like that you have Lupin and Tonks meeting before the events of OotP, and you’ve done a great job of setting up their relationship.

Your development of canon characters is excellent and very realistic and believable. I quite enjoyed Hestia’s character especially, and love how the relationship between her and Tonks has changed. I really love the way you work with the canon characters and the way they interact with each other; I especially love reading the interactions between Tonks and Scrimgeour/Kingsley/Arthur/Ginny.

The development of your original characters is also superb. I very rarely find myself becoming attached to original characters, and often skip over the parts of stories that are contain a lot of them. Yours, however, are more than just bearable – they are endearing. I find myself looking forward to their exploits almost as much as I look forward to reading about the cannon characters, especially when it comes to Julia, Tom, Jerry, Morty and Evan (the first four because they’re just awesome, and Evan because I love trying to guess what he’s going to do next).

In addition to everything else, I enjoy the way you work mentions of literature and music into your stories. They often have me laughing out loud. The names of Stern and Crantz, in particular, make me smile every time.

To comment on this story specifically, I think that you handled the death of Sirius very well. Tonks’s dream after his death was quite heart wrenching. I also particularly enjoyed reading about Scrimgeour’s plots to become the next Minister.

To wrap it all up, this story (as well as the ones before it) is beautifully developed and beautifully written. Keep it up! I’m off to read the rest of your work ;)

Author's Response: I\'d print out your review and make family and friends read it, except they\'re philistines not interested in Harry Potter, so they wouldn\'t \'get\' how awesome it is!

Thank you!
