I am a 30-something Harry Potter NUT. I live in Illinois with my husband, daughter and infant son. I teach daycare during the day (and I write my stories while on my breaks there!) and work retail at night. Most of the remainder of my awake time is spent floating around the queue and just trying to keep up with life.

Safe Haven is my very first fanfic so we'll see how it is received since it is *not* HBP or (obviously) DH compliant. Please remember this when reading my story as it will make it easier to grasp certain aspects of it.

LOVED this story. I was actually going to do a story for that particular challenge about the same area of the DoM (the Death Chamber) but I just didn't have the time. This was very well written. Nice job!

Author's Response: Thank you so much for the great review! I am so glad you liked the story. It is nice to know others are reading it and enjoying it. Thanks again! ~Gina :)

I laughed so hard I have tears coming down! Thank you for writing such a fun story.

Author's Response: You are quite welcome, I had fun with it as well! I am so glad you enjoyed it and had a good laugh. I have a somewhat similar story called \"An Uplifting Adventure\" featuring Ron and the twins that was also written for a One-Shot challenge. Thank you very much for reading it and leaving such a nice review! ~Gina :)

I just read through around 50% of your stories because the descriptions got my attention. You are such a gifted storyteller.

Author's Response: Thank you very much. :) I\'m glad you\'ve enjoyed them. I\'ve updated with three new stories if you would like to read.

No better way to end a day than a Draco/Hermione love story... Thanks for making my night complete! It was sweet and different from others I have read... and I have read most of them, hehe. Good job.

Author's Response: Wow! Thank you! :D

I love it so far... I'm now waiting with baited breath for the follow-ups! *Slytherins yay!*

Author's Response: Yay! I\'m really glad you liked it.:D:D:D

As for future chapters, chapter two is in que, chapter three is ready, and the rest of the story is outlined and just needs to be typed. :D

I totally agree, *Slytherins YAY!* Thanks so much for the review!

Prying Eyes by nysuperstarz

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Ginny is dead. This is a poem in Harry's point of veiw expressing his feelings about Ginny's death.
Reviewer: NikkiSue Signed
Date: 12/24/06 Title: Chapter 1: Prying Eye's

Ooooh... That was fascinating. I like how the bitterness he was feeling after her death really shows in the poem. He already lost Sirius and slowly moved past that the best he could. I can only imagine the grief he would be keeping inside after losing the girl he cared about. I think is a very accurate reaction that he would have. Nicely done!

Author's Response: Thank-you!

Something In The Water by Seren

Summary: He's Harry, little Harry the Seeker who was small and stubby and cute in the same way your stuffed animal is cute. Katie Bell's got a problem. Post-War.

What a great story! I have not read many OC fanfics but this one was quite enjoyable.

I think my favorurite part about the way you wrote this was the way that you brought the reader into Katie's thoughts and saw her inner turmoil. It was plain to see that she liked Harry but it was SO amusing to "listen" to her talk herself out of those feelings!

She blames it long hours at work making her hallucinate, pretending that hallucinations include daydreams, night dreams, afternoon dreams... she's getting off track again, yes she is. Think about different things. Like this beautiful plate they're serving her dinner on. It's lovely and black and shiny. Like Harry's hair.

Oh, bother.

This was one of my favorite parts. We've all been there and you describe her thoughts running away with her perfectly!

I do have one minor correction though I have not read the other reviews so I am not sure if it's alreeady been brought up:

She blames it long hours at work making her hallucinate

Should it be "blames it ON long hours?"

I hope my tags are working, otherwise this post will be a mess.

Thanks for writing such a pleasant story.

~Nicole/NikkiSue

Triptych by TheMadMugggle

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Who we are is the sum total of our experiences and what we learn from them. Ron has grown up a great deal over the years. But because of the single POV, we don't get to see much of what goes on in Ron's head. This is my take on what goes on in there. Told in three "chapters". All three are finished and will be up soon.

After reading your idea for helping me with my story on the beta boards, I saw your link for this in your signature and decided to read. I'm intrigued and ready for the next chapter. Great first chapter and thanks for your idea, by the way!

Author's Response: I\'m glad you liked my ideas and my story. I hope to have the next chapter up soon.

Ghost Town by Rita Writer

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: This story was written for a secret Santa story swap, and my challenge was to write a "slightly philosophical" story about "a lonely ghost". The ghost in this story is named Milo, and in an attempt to cure his loneliness, he travels to a town where only ghosts live. However, what he finds isn't what he was looking for.

A Black Destiny by Sly Severus

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: The time has come. Bellatrix is finally being initiated into the Death Eaters. But was it really what she wanted? Was she really meant to follow the Dark Lord?

Written by Sly Severus of Slytherin for the Gauntlet's 3rd run
Reviewer: NikkiSue Signed
Date: 12/10/06 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Wow... thats all I can say is WOW. I got pulled into this fic quickly and for me that is saying a lot. I too was surprised at how you had Andromeda get killed by Bella but I agree that it just worked best with the direction the story was heading. I'm impressed.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review, Nicole. I\'m glad you liked it.

Having Bella purposly kill Andromeda was really hard on me. I hated to do it. I cannot imagine Bella being able to kill her own sister. I felt bad for days after I did it. Poor Bella. It\'s not that I don\'t have other fics that result in Bella murdering one of her sister\'s but she has never meant to do it, and to me that is far more believable. But as you said, having Bella kill Andromeda in cold blood, just fit the story (and the prompt) so I went with it. *sniffles* I still feel guilty when I think about it.

Thanks again, for the review. :D

Fabulous job, Jace. Kept me at the edge of my seat and the end totally threw me off. I am SO doing the Gauntlet next time! See you in the SCR.

Author's Response: You should! It was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. I thought it was going to be really difficult, but it was really fun just making things up as I went along as opposed to having a structured plotline. It makes even yourself wonder where the story\'s going to go next!

For Innocence We Sin by Eilime

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Two-shot

Hermione knew it wasn’t her business. And she didn’t mean to get involved either. But it’s difficult not to when you realise that you’re the only one who has noticed this change; that no one else seems to care that Draco Malfoy is looking more and more tired, weak and pale each day, sporting dark circles under his eyes, and Hermione wants to know why.

I didn’t expect a thank you; a nod was fine with me.

whoa. THAT was awesome. Yours was the first fanfic that I have read not centered around the usual characters. Very impressive. I loved the details you wrote as far as explaining her thoughts. You've got serious talent.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for such a postive review! I chose to use Padma partly because she\'s thought of so little, but also because I\'m planning on co-writing a fic where she is one of the main characters.

Wow... I think you have broekn through my wall of stubbornness and opened me up to reading more Bellatrix stories! She is quite the compelling character and the angle she is seen in your fic was refreshing from others I have read. I was VERY impressed with the direction you took this challenge. Holy cow. Best of luck in this. You did a great job.

Author's Response: Yay! Thank you, Nicole! I really had no idea how this would be received. I mean, anyone who has read many of my stories wouldn\'t be surprised by Bellatrix, but I didn\'t know how well incorporating Muggle medicine would go over. Of course, it was done in OotP.

Anyway, I\'m really glad to hear that you\'re starting to warm up to Bella, as I am sure you are well aware, I love her!

Thanks so much for the review and I\'m glad you liked the story. *huggles*

This was a breath of fresh air. I just got a funny picture in my head of all of the "light" witches and wizards singing this together, bells in hand, santa hats, etc. Fun stuff.

Author's Response: Hmmm...*is now picturing Tonks with reindeer ears*

I\'m glad you liked it and thanks for the review.

Here Without You by Sarakime

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: It was as if he was confined in a dark box, though a small stream of light illuminated his past. That light reminded him of how his old life was just beyond his reach. All he had to do is get over her to escape the depression. But trying was like grasping dark smoke with your fingertips; he couldn’t.

Holy cow, Sarah... Wow. The incredible desriptions throughout this story just tore me apart! I found myself aching for whoever the words were referring to (and then Draco was revealed *squee!*) and I just wanted to gather him into a hug to tell him it would all be okay someday. Silly, I know. You just did such a fabulus job of conveying his emotions and how utterly helpless he was feeling for so long. THAT was a good fanfic, my dear. Good job. You have every right to be proud of this one.
- Nikki

Author's Response: :D Thank you sooo much, Nicole! I put a lot into this fanfic because, well, it was my emotions through Draco. So I had common ground, lol. I\'m really glad you like it! I think Draco needed a hug right about then. :)

Date: 06/21/07 Title: Chapter 4: Dumbledore's Help

I love where you are taking this story and look forward to seeing more. The only criticism I can give is that I don't believe that it was very in character for Ron and Harry to run off to avoid research. It makes me think of the Tri-Wizard Tournament and all the time Ron and Hermione spent helping Harry solve his clues. This is the soul of their best friend that we have this time and I think they would not only want to help out but it would be magnified considering that only their least favorite person in the school is doing something about it.

Regardless, I always look forward to your updates and wait with anticipation for the next one - Good job!
~Nicole (NikkiSue)

Author's Response: Thanks! I had to make Harry and Ron leave Hermione and Draco alone as to help move their relationship along, and Harry and Ron would have done anything in their power to stop it, I couldn\'t have that, so they got to be prats who decided to avoid books, but yes, it was out of character for them. Thanks for reading, and I\'m glad you like it!

Author's Response: Thanks, Nicole. I\'m glad you liked it. It seemed important to show Narcissa\'s distress before getting her to the Green Dragon.
