Better Off This Way? by NorskHeksen

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Sometimes people get involved with Dark Magic, not because they're evil, but because they haven't the intelligence or confidence to decide what they truly believe and stand up for it.

Narcissa Malfoy reflects on her life.

Songfic based on "Airport Song" by Guster. Warning is for a vague element, nothing graphic.

Wonderfully written, excellent reflections with Narcissa, though I do think you overplayed Lucius a bit. Don't think on it, though, because I'm probably a bit prejudiced, seeing as Lucius is among my many favorite characters.

Very good job... I liked the ending. A lot.

Keep at it!

*applauds* Oh, I must congratulate you on a lovely Mary-Sue performance. I've seen far too many of these not to realize a master at work... xD Loved it. Bravissima!

~Juli

Author's Response: Buongiorno Juli! Non parlo italiano, but I know enough to say \'Grazie!\' Coming from someone who\'s had post traumatic Sue-stress, I really appreciate it. ^_^

Woah! Major cliffhanger... I'm happy with Harry's decision, though - fits his character excellently. Poor Colin! I wonder what he walked in on. Or did he?

You have to write more VERY VERY soon.

~Juli

Author's Response: yeah, pretty much you\'re dealing with cliffhangers for the rest of the story, sorry about that. And I\'m glad you thought i got harry right. it\'s tough, and that\'s a situation i think it would be valid to disagree with me on, but youknow, it doesn\'t hurt to have people agree either. i will write more as soon as is humanly possible. thank you kindly.

Cliché Nation by just_the_contrary

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: A compilation of the most commonly used Harry Potter clichés in the fandom. Features Angsty!Harry, Sweet!Draco, Head Dorms, sudden romances in the forms of Ron/Hermione, Harry/Ginny and of course, Draco/Hermione, because what's a cliché without them?

The Marauders also make an appearance in this fic, including Lily/Lily's best friend/Lily's other best friend.

Warning: mention of hippopotamuses inside.

Chapter Five is up! The story is done. Also, thank you to everyone who nominated this neatly tied bundle of ridiculousness in the QQ awards, I really appreciate it!

*rolls around on the floor* Oh! *wipes eyes* This is wonderful, I tell you, absolutely great. Sparklypoo... And all with naturally perfect coloured hair, too. xD A Hogwarts full of Mary Sues and Gary Stus! Can't wait to look at the next chapter.

xD I love the Harry's scheduled duels and the house points... And the shouting! Ah, to die for. That was Harry in the 5th book, yes indeed, all shouting. Brava, again!

~Juliet

Author's Response: Yes, Harry\'s scheduled duels what one of my finer points, I say. Thank you.

"Yes, and all the ones that write fanfics and insert Americanisms"... Ah, so true. I hate that. xD Wonderful chapter again - Voldie. I'm sure he'd hate that... xD On to the next!

"if anyone in your house thinks you’re insane from laughing so hard, I’m dreadfully sorry." Well, only my dad, but I doubt he cares. xD This was a wonderful anti-example... Good work - if it's not against the rules to tell you that. It hurts to read, but it was worth the laughs. Bravissima!

~Juli

Author's Response: Nothing is against the rules with my humour fics. I\'m so glad you liked it and thank you very much! :)

Reviews would be greatly appreciated! Constructive critism is definately welcome!

Wow. Heartsick letter - her last. I love it. The reader is really caught up in her emotions, and Merope is seen in a deeper light. She was a good girl, really, I always thought. My favorite part was the part with Riddle and his current wife - "If she knew me she would not worry."
Bravissima!

Author's Response: Thanks! You\'ve made my day!

Ode to Mary Sue by Kerichi

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary:

After eviscerating Mary Sue in fiction, Mary Sue, I love you! and Mary Sue, Marauders love you!, I was seized by the irresistible urge to skewer her in sonnet. (my version of one, anyway, choosing content over iambic pentameter :D) Shakespeare's 18th sonnet, Shall I compare thee..., was my inspiration, since when it comes to Mary Sue fics, (including the humorous ones) So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see, So long lives this, and this gives life to thee....

*Rated 3rd-5th only due to a belief that younger readers shouldn't be exposed to unpleasant 'facts of life' like Mary Sue. ^_~ *

Well, I wouldn't quite say poison, exactly.. Maybe a sedative.

Excellent, again - You should write some on her soul mate, Gary Sue. xD
~Juli

Author's Response: Non veleno- sedativo? (you\'ve got me hooked on an italian translator from other reviews, :D) I think the range of Sues varies from harmless to toxic depending on the story and reaction of the reader, heh. Gary Stu only makes me curl a lip, though, not bare teeth...or claws...LOL

The Raconteur by The Half Blood Prince

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Sirius has always wondered what fear really is like. Told in second person, this is a non-rhyming poem exploring Sirius's feelings of fear.

QSQ Poetry Award Winner.

Woah..
This was spectacular. All out - oh my goodness, what an awesome poem. Good job on the freeverse situation, and I love the occational sidethoughts in parenthesis... Loved it. Bravissima!

~Juliet

Author's Response: Thank you, and an even bigger thank you for telling me you enjoyed my work - I could need, I have figured, some confidence, which I am severely lacking after I post a poem on this site. Again, thank you! =)

Friendship, Love, and Pranks: The Story of the Marauders by Padfoot is MINE

Rated: Professors •
Summary: Chapter Thirty-Eight in Queue!

They say someday your life will flash before your eyes...

The Marauders. The name alone strikes fear into the hearts of teachers and makes girls swoon. Watch as Sirius, who has always kept his emotions locked up in a box, finally finds the girl that has its key; as James masterminds everything, except how to win over the girl of his dreams; as Remus finds love, but learns it's just as hard to keep it going, and as Peter tries to prove he's just as good as the other four, no matter what he has to do. They're unstoppable, and it's safe to say that once they're gone, Hogwarts will never be the same again.

...let's make ours worth watching.

Whew... That was a lot of names... I'm not sure I quite liked the style, but hey, for a first star , ' one of the best I've seen. This is pretty good for an introduction, as well, and I liked how you ended with "the rest is history..." It really gives a step-up into the story. I also liked the idea of Dumbledore's granddaughter... Wonder if/how she dies? Hmm. Anyhow. Brava!

~Juliet

Author's Response: Yeah, it\'s a lot...this is some of me earler writing, anot very good or anything...especially the next chapter, It\'s definitely my least favorite...

Oh...

That was spectacular. Wonderful, lovely, incredible... Bravissima.

The bouquet in the beginning was filled with such perfect imagery... Could not have been better. A wonderful Ron and Hermione fic - most of them are so sappy, but this... Well, you captured their emotions PERFECTLY.

Bravissima, again.
