Ok- about me. I'm 16 and live in Colorado. I love writing, and want to be an author someday. I also LOVE to read, and fanfiction is awesome. I've slipped into the realm of original work lately, however, and I will not be able to devote too much time to fanfiction anymore. Every story will finish, however. Please be patient with me.

Summary: The reign of Voldermort comes to an end, and with it ends the prestige and power Lucius Malfoy once had in the Wizarding World. In order to regain the respect of his fellow wizards and to make them believe that he has turned over a new leaf (which he actually hasn't) and has graciously accepted muggles and Mudbloods, Lucius asks Hermione, a Mudblood, to marry his son, Draco, a pure-blood. This chapter was brilliant and so were the other ones that I didn't review! Sorry about that- the log in issues were driving me up a wall! But now it seems to be getting better *knock on wood* so I get to review again! This story is so funny! I love how mad Draco and Hermione get, how malicious and dirty-minded the Slytherins are, and how freaked out Ron and Harry were when they were late! Just- wow. I've shyed away from giving out 10's lately, but this is a 10!

Eeeek! Now I can't wait for the next chapter- is the chessboard an important part of the plot? It seems key for some reason. This is great- keep it goin'! ~Paprika
Author's Response: Actually, for now, all the chessboard symbolizes is the wealth the malfoys possess (considering they can afford a GEMSTONE set) and the fact that draco does get whatever he WANTS, even if it is something he doesn't NEED. Lucius malfoy agreeing to get a chessboard made of precious stones for his son must say something abt the power draco somewhat has over his father. But, i may use the chessboard later on in the story if the need arises. Thanx!
