I love the Harry Potter books. I even sort of maybe very probably might like the films (I think), even though they left out Peeves. John Williams is a genius - I was sad when he stopped doing the music. Patrick Doyle is great - just not John Williams!

I love "Moments of Bliss" by Moonymaniac, it is well worth checking out.

Properly-Decapitated Post-its by Kestrel

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Sir Nicholas de Mimsey Porpington and Sir Patrick Delaney Podmore exchange humorous verse. Limericks!
Reviewer: Buckbeak22 Signed
Date: 06/28/05 Title: Chapter 1: First correspondence

Love this. Some humor sounds very contrived, and this doesn't.

Author's Response: It's been in the back of my head for ages- I'm glad you liked it!

Room for Healing by Louisa Chocolatecake

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: After the final battle, Ron and Hermione push away their grief - and each other. Back at Hogwarts for the last month, they find each other again. (One-shot)

I really like this story! It isn't just a mushy romance. Very perceptive and developed writing. So many people write emotions that are shallow, but these two are anguished.

Author's Response: Thank you very much! I enjoy fluffy romance, but I also enjoy... romance layered in anguish. It adds a darker tint...

Shirty by musiclily88

Rated:
Summary: Hermione and Ron finally reach the point that everyone knew was coming. Begins in a shop and culminates in a birthday party. (Just a semi-fluffy one-shot where frustration breaks apart the awkwardness that surrounds Ron and Hermione. Rated pg-13 just in case.)

I liked this. Simple and not to over the top gushy.

Author's Response: That’s precisely what I was going for! Thank you! Gushy is not really my thing, cause it can easily get turned sickeningly sweet. Thank you again.

Great! I like the way this is about more of the Hogwarts students that we don't know about. After all, there must be more students than Harry, Hermione and the Weasleys in Gryffindor! And it is a refreshing change to have two other unknown characters in the same year. I will be very interested to see what you do next. What bizarre instruments do you play? ...I just want to know what instrument could be described as bizarre...

Author's Response: Thanks for the review! :) I was hoping people would enjoy hearing about the other characters, though I'm having trouble getting Ch 2 up because of this reason...I think. I play the Baritone/Euphonium. Not really bizzarre, but most people have never heard of it (It's the mini tuba). I also mess around with the balaika (sp).

My friend Anna, for whom I wrote this died in a car crash. This story is a birthday present I wrote her, since she was just over six feet, and liked Hagrid best of all the characters in Harry Potter. She won't be able to reply to any reviews.

I did like this. I have a five year old, and the thought of her going through something like that gives me chills. Just a few things - Neville would probably have been able to read at that age, just not to understand what the words meant. I feel that perhaps maybe he should be a bit more nervous of his grandmother. She is very harsh on him, as he is only six, especially not to have told him what happened to his parents to prepare him. To see his parents like that would have been frightening as well as disappointing. He would have been angry with them, as well as loving them. Children tend to think that adults can solve anything - even insanity! I know this review is quite long, but he probably would have asked his grandmother when they would be better again - after all, he knows it is a hospital and he knows that is where people go to get made well again. I really like the way you pick unusual aspects to write about.

Author's Response: Thanks for the constuctive critism. I will come back and change a few things. I know that, having virtually no experiences of five or six year olds, my presumptions of what they can and can't do are likely to be terribly wrong, but I'll ammend it at some point, so thanks for pointing that out! I love picking things or doing things in detail that nobody has ever done before, or focused on before. I know that The Truth About yesterday had been done many times in various ways, but the first chappie of the prequel, Maraudering Around, is about Remus being registered as a werewolf which I have never read written about before, so that was really interesting to write. I figure that if it is origonal in that way, then it will grasp my own imagination and allow me more creative liscience than I would usually have. Thanks for the review! I know this answer went off the mark a bit!

But Has All Hope Failed? by smart_one

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: This is a one-shot based upon the scene where Dumbledore must drink that horrid potion in order to reach the horcrux at the bottom of the potion's basin. But this time, it is told from Dumbledore's point of view. Why does he plea for his life? What is it that he sees? You'll just have to read to find out.

"Dumbledore didn’t realize how much he was shaking. His head was nodding convulsively, as if his disapproval could do something to help Harry. And as if his arm was no longer connected to the rest of his body, his arm swung into a diving motion as he filled his goblet yet again, and downed it in one sip. His arm continued to move in a quick motion, to fill the goblet again. But the effects of the potion were blinding his concentration. Harry lay on the ground in front of Dumbledore’s eyes once again. He was still bloody, his face still pale and pleading. Fear showed throughout his entire body. Hope was all gone from him, and he was crying…"

[EDIT]Over 300 reads? That's incredible!! Thank you!! I would really appreciate feedback as well. Read on! This is my first fanfic so I would appreciate your comments/concerns/praise.

Dear Dumby by Oppungo

Summary: What happens when Dumbledore has his latest "brilliant" idea, to start an advice column, and call it 'Dear Dumby'? Letters from some of our favourite Hogwarts students, some of our not so favourite Hogwarts students, some not even Hogwarts students at all, and, of course, lots of madness!

A Rivalry Like No Other by halfbloodprincess22

Sounds like a bit of subconsious transferrance - Draco inside Harry's dream is doing what Draco himself would given courage and half a chance. liked it. Is there going to be any more?

Author's Response: no, it\'s finished, but i\'m really glad you liked it!

The Wings of Night by Incendio

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Christmas Eve. The war is over, and Harry has come to visit Ginny. Everything has changed for both of them. Can a gift make any difference? Written in response to Challenge 5: Secret Gifts for Gryffindor House.

I loved this story, and (sorry) haven't reviewed before now, but keep checking to see if you have written any more. There was a sense of desolation to this short story that I felt was almost magically evoked by the writing, and a use of description that I particularly enjoyed. I would love to read some more of your works.

Only You Can Forgive Me by goldenprincess

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: He betrayed his friends, faked his own death, and helped to reincarnate the Dark Lord. Now, on New Year's Eve, Peter Pettigrew asks forgiveness of the one man who can give it to him - Remus Lupin. And he's prepared to do anything to get it... Brilliant. And I agree that there may have been a point in Peter Pettigrew's life when the guilt he lived with was too heavy to carry any more.

James's Legacy by halfbloodprincess22

Thought I should clarify. I adore Snape, but I prefer him with his warts, which make him unique, rather than without them.

Author's Response: i see. thanks for clarifiying.

Ha! Very funny. In an ironic way. Sounds like Snape got his comeuppance. It is nice to read a story where Snape is not overcome with grief at his awful actions and becomes a nice person. A sulky Snape looking for someone else to put the blame on works much better for me. Very refreshing.

Author's Response: thank you for reviewing :)

Tragedies, Tears and Black Velvet Boxes by Oppungo

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •

The Truth Comes Out by smart_one

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: This is another one-shot. After Dumbledore's funeral, a lot of choices are left open for Harry, Ron and Hermione. Things must be done, places must be discovered and action must be taken. But when Harry finds Ron and Hermione in deep, private and important conversation of their own, Harry realizes his plans might just be altered a bit. My second fan-fiction!

I really like this one. Krum is just as I imagined him. Only one nitpick - I don't think Hermione would say vacuum cleaner - it is usually hoover. I know "Hoover" is a brand name here, (I married an American) but we always use 'hoover' as a verb.

Moony's Quidditch Lesson by moonymaniac

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: The Marauders are in their second year and it is a beautiful day. Of course James would want to play some Quidditch. But is Remus the athletic type?
This is just a little piece I wrote for Quidditch Tryouts on the MNFF Forums last fall. I see it as a companion piece to my larger fic, Moments of Bliss, a sort of missing scene, if you will.

So nice to read a story about someone who isn't brilliant at Quidditch. I also like the fact that Peter is at least fairly good at it. Really enjoyed this piece.

Author's Response: Thanks, so much Buckbeak22. Everyone can\'t be athletic, right? And Peter can\'t be pathetic at everything...I\'m glad you enjoyed it. :)
