I have been a huge Harry Potter fan since I was eleven and first read Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets because the first book wasn't in at the school library. I have always enjoyed reading fan fiction, but I was never sure if I really wanted to write my own or not. However, I had a few ideas for stories, so I decided to try it out. I hope you enjoy!

I'm also participating in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo.org) this November. My username on there is mariacsteinmetz, send me a NaNomail if you're on too! The more the merrier, especially with NaNo! : )

One White Pawn by Ravensgryff

Rated: 6th-7th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: Ron Weasley has started having some very odd dreams. What do they mean? More importantly, can they help the trio to finally defeat Lord Voldemort? A Ron-centric fic written for HP Quills for a Cause.

Dedicated to my husband who always helps me see the big picture.

Good story. it would have been nice to know what happened to harry, but i like that it's ambiguous. it would be interesting to read a prequel to this story and find out exactly what happened during all those events that ron referred to, like when hermione was captured or when ron got hurt and was in the hospital when percy visited.

Author's Response: Thanks! Some of those things were mentioned in some of my earlier R/Hr fics.

Where Luna Lives by Ennalee

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Sometimes Luna remembers the explosion of sound against her eardrums, the blast of hot air (throat raw, the insides of her nostrils burning), the shower of tiny sparks like fireflies, but flaming. Sometimes she just remembers running through the damp grass, feet bare, her mother dancing on the lawn before her, white dress and shining hair, singing.

Wow...i really loved this story, it was almost poetic...really good, you should definitely write more...sad and happy at the same time, just a really fantastic story

Author's Response: I definitely will be writing more. Thanks!

After the End by Biscuits

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: When the war is over, the effects remain. Memories of death, destruction and fear haunt all those who are left. Possibly worse are the memories of what they had before. But there cannot be war without death, and those that are left after the end of the war have to adapt to the new word, as it is now.

Character death is featured, but not described.

Written pre Deathly Hallows.

wow good story, it almost made me cry...i thought it was from neville's pov, but at the end it's pretty obvious it's tonks...i really liked this, i think you did a good job really touching on how devastating a war can be for those left to clean up afterwards.

Author's Response: *hands another hankie, just in case* Thanks!

The Deadly Quest by harry2006

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: It's been more then a year since Albus Dumbledore's funeral. The trio had destroyed two Horcruxes when in a massive attack by Lord Voldemort and his followers, Ron gets killed and Hermione gets captured.

In this story, there is romance between Harry and Ginny. There is one more couple whom I will keep secret. You will know soon enough.

Many more things will come to light in the later chapters.

Very good and well-written story. It sucks that Ron had to die, but other than that, I really like it. The Harry and Draco stuff should get pretty interesting in the next chapter, I hope. Poor Hermione, I really hope Harry manages to rescue her. Overall, good story and I can't wait for the next chapter!

Author's Response: Thanks! I will try to post the next chapter soon. But it may take some time.

The Resistance by enchantedsleeper

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: [Spoilers for Deathly Hallows] We all know what Ron, Harry and Hermione were doing at the time. Now, this is the story of the second Dumbledore's Army, and their resistance against Snape and the Carrows. Canon pairings.

I am loving this story! Read all six chapters in one sitting. The characters seem pretty close to canon and the story itself is believable as what probably went on at Hogwarts under Snape and the Carrows. I'm especially loving Neville. Hope to see more chapters soon!

Hermione's Horcrux by Ravensgryff

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Hermione is a strong and capable witch; the brightest witch of her age. But that doesn't mean she doesn't have her own internal struggles, especially when Horcruxes are involved.

This was a great chapter. I really loved it. Malfoy Manor was one of my favorite scenes in the whole series and the way it is told from Hermione's point of view was great. It's really interesting to get her side of the story for a change.

Awesome ending to this story. This is a left-out moment from the books, Hermione destroying her Horcrux, and the way this is written, it is entirely likely that it happened this way. Really great story all-around.

Dobby Goes Home by Hypatia

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Dobby gave his life to save Harry and his friends. Harry grieved for Dobby and buried him, but death was not the end for Dobby. Follow this selfless house-elf on his next great adventure.

Beautiful story, I had tears in my eyes at the end! The idea of all the family members coming up and thanking Dobby was brilliant!

Author's Response: Thanks! I'm really glad you enjoyed it! :)

A Christmas Request by JustLikeHermione77

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: George Weasley thought that he'd never have the courage to move on without his twin, his other half. But as he watches Ron sit at home without a job, he knows what he must do. The only problem is that thinking it is one thing, and actually doing it is something much more difficult...

Wonderful story, you have a real knack for capturing the characters.

As Happily Ever After As They're Gonna Get by cjbaggins

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: My take on the first of those 'nineteen years' between the 36th chapter of DH and the epilogue.

Warnings: contains an unusually-shaped ring, a nosy neighbour, a rude shop assistant, shaving mishaps, thoughtful gestures, threatening goblins, and, unexplained appearances of Romantic!Ron and Romantic!Harry. You have been warned.

Rating is for *mild* innuendo and *mostly* innocent interactions but I wouldn't let my 9 year old read it.

Good story! Loved the part where Ron asked Hermione to the ball and where he proposed. This part with Draco was really good too. Can't wait to see how it all turns out!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm glad you are enjoying it. The parts you mention are favourites of mine, as well. Stay tuned - the next chapter should be accepted soon, I hope. cj

For the Greater Good by paranoia machine

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: In a world where the Order failed and Voldemort reigns supreme, Hermione concocts a desperate brilliant scheme to reach across dimensions and find a world where Voldemort was defeated and ask for help. And they find such a world, a world where Riddle was vanquished, a utopia where Wizards and Muggles live together under a benevolent dictatorship and Harold James Potter is the heir apparent of Lords Dumbledore and Grindelwald.

Purgatory by Pennilyn Novus

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: In the nightmarish world where Lord Voldemort was victorious, Hermione, Ron and Ginny struggle to find hope in the growing darkness, and to stay alive. With the Order destroyed and the countryside beseiged by terror, will any of them make it out with their lives?

Reviewer: Arial Felchem Signed
Date: 08/20/11 Title: Chapter 1: Purgatory

Wow. The things that happen to the characters in this story are truly terrible, but it was a really good story. It definitely reads like a nightmare, but it is also true to the characters from the books, I think; it definitely works as an "alternate ending" to the series, if Harry had died. It was disturbing, definitely, but well done; I liked it.

Hermione's Great Escape by Ravensgryff

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Hermione Weasley is just about at her breaking point. She has two options, hex her husband into oblivion or walk away. A short one-shot about the less fluffy side of marriage.
Reviewer: Arial Felchem Signed
Date: 04/04/08 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Brilliant story! This is probably exactly what a morning at the Ron and Hermione Weasley house was like. Really well done.

Of Sisters, Socks, and Sorrow by FenrirG

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Albus Dumbledore really did see socks when he looked into the Mirror of Erised. And this is the reason why.

Edges by DragonDi

Full Circle by JustLikeHermione77

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Nineteen years after the Battle of Hogwarts, Harry Potter returns to the Headmaster's office at Hogwarts to have a talk with a long-deceased mentor-and finally understands the true strength of love.
Reviewer: Arial Felchem Signed

I didn't think that was cheesy, it was great! It feels like it could have come straight from the books, particularly the characters. I really enjoyed this story!

Between the Snoring and the Seemingly Imminent Death by A H

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Between the Snoring and the Seemingly Imminent Death is a short one-shot inspired by the passage in Deathly Hallows in which Harry awakes on the first morning in Grimmauld Place, noticing that perhaps Ron and Hermione's hands had been together during the night. This story--for I shall spare you the unnecessarily long title again--is about what happened during that night, when Ron and Hermione know that the next few months of their lives are not going to be easy, for the moments that are under the most pressure are undoubtedly the ones we most feel confessions are necessary.

When Worlds Die by MagEd

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: In any man who dies there dies with him,
his first snow and kiss and fight . . .
Not people die but worlds die in them

~Yevgeny Yevtushenko, "People"

His twin is dead, and as far as George can see, the whole world might as well have died, too. In other words, this is the story of how George Weasley grieved in seven steps. *one-shot*
