Although I mainly write short stories, the idea is for all of my writings to form a more or less unified whole. They all explore aspects of the life and times of Severus Snape, and together they make for what I hope is a complex and nuanced portrait of the Potions master, true to canon.

Expect the darker sides of human nature, individual motivations, irony, and everything serious seasoned with dashes of humour...

All stories are HBP-compatible, apart fromThe Return of the Prodigal Son, Mirror Mirror and A Lesson in Darkness and Light, which were written after OotP.

Snape, an OFC and an R-rating? No thanks, I'd rather avoid it - I would have said until stumbling on "The Essence of Susan Jones". Goody, you certainly know how to tell a story! It's mysterious (murder! rhyme! brewing people!), dark, eloquent, inventive and enthralling, and it boasts an excellent Snape, which is, let us admit it, a rare phenomenon. I read all chapters in one go (too impatient to review each - my apologies), and can't wait to see what's next... All hail to you, EllieK!

Author's Response: Thank you, Sigune! Coming from you it is high praise indeed. I look forward to your continued feedback. I hope that I shall not disappoint.
