Although I mainly write short stories, the idea is for all of my writings to form a more or less unified whole. They all explore aspects of the life and times of Severus Snape, and together they make for what I hope is a complex and nuanced portrait of the Potions master, true to canon.

Expect the darker sides of human nature, individual motivations, irony, and everything serious seasoned with dashes of humour...

All stories are HBP-compatible, apart fromThe Return of the Prodigal Son, Mirror Mirror and A Lesson in Darkness and Light, which were written after OotP.

New stories are in the works...

I am proud to reveal that I am an official guild member of S.I.C.K. (Snape Is Cuter in a Kilt) and shipmate on board of Potions & Pineapple! If you wonder why I'm so enthousiastic about this, read the fics that started it all: Vocalion's...

Stories by Sigune

As She Likes It by Sigune

Rated: Professors •
Summary: When Black challenges Snape over a woman’s affections, the Potions master sharpens his claws – and his tongue, of course. Does love have anything to do with it all? It is romance, if you wish, but with dark edges.

This decidedly un-fluffy one-shot takes place in the summer before Harry's fifth year, and was written for the SH Spring Faire Festival’s “Black versus Snape” Challenge. Sirius fans are kindly advised to abstain…

Monkey Business by Sigune

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Some animals are just not meant to be pets. A tale of friendship, choices and many, many familiars.

The Good-Morrow by Sigune

Rated:
Summary: Far away from his Hogwarts dungeon, Severus Snape wakes up next to a sleeping woman. Ah, brave new world!

Professor Snape's Address by Sigune

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: As Draco Malfoy, Theo Nott and Blaise Zabini enter their sixth year at Hogwarts, Professor Snape delivers a strange little speech to the Slytherins. What is he playing at? And what are the students to make of it?

The Dark Night of the Soul by Sigune

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Black and Lupin have escaped from the Potions master’s clutches. Vengeance and an Order of Merlin have been snatched away from him by none other than Albus Dumbledore. How on earth can an embittered Severus continue to work with his Headmaster? An insight into a frustrated wizard’s mind, bridging PoA and GoF. *HBP-spoilers!*

The Tunnel by Sigune

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Severus Snape has issues: with Potter and Black, with werewolves and confined spaces. Here is why... (HBP-compatible; no spoilers)

The Return of the Prodigal Son by Sigune

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: A very young Dark wizard returns to his old school with high hopes of obtaining the Defence Against the Dark Arts position. But showing an ugly mark on his arm and explaining how it got there might considerably reduce his chances… A different take on how and why Severus Snape became a spy for Albus Dumbledore, a glimpse into his mind, and a peek at an alternative family history.

Mirror Mirror by Sigune

Rated:
Summary: A few months after Lord Voldemort’s defeat at the hands of baby Potter, Alastor Moody makes a catch – a young man who bears a more than superficial resemblance to one of his colleagues, the dour Stephen Snape. This is the tale of a hook-nosed man, his wife, and the things they pass down to their son: a story of love and hate, good intentions and bad decisions, black and white, and of making choices. Above all, it is a veritable tragedy of family likeness. An unsentimental and unusual take on Severus Snape's early years.

A Lesson in Darkness and Light by Sigune

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: The year is 1969. Little Severus Snape discovers a new passion: Dark magic. His mother thinks it prudent to take charge and explain him the rules of the game.
