Hey, I'm Iris. I started writing MNFF fanfic several years ago, but I've been on hiatus for a while. Needless to say, I'm a rabid Harry Potter fanatic.

Some random things about me:

Age: Seventeen

Favorite books: The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling (betcha didn't see that one coming), Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman, Sweetblood and Invisible by Pete Hautman, Luna by Julie Anne Peters, all Amelia Atwater-Rhodes novels, The God Eaters by Jesse Hajicek, and many more I can't think of right now

Interests: Music, books, films, writing, freakdom, animals, the arts, HARRY POTTER (duh), anything related to Harry Potter, various causes including, but not limited to, animal rights, LGBT rights, Darfur, Tibet, mind freedom, and the environment

Harry Potter books from favorite to least favorite: Deathly Hallows, Order of the Phoenix, Half-Blood Prince, Prisoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire, Philosopher's Stone, and Chamber of secrets

Favorite HP characters: Luna, Remus, Tonks, Dumbledore, Bellatrix, Neville, and Snape

Favorite television shows: Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Simpsons, Invader ZIM, The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, The Colbert Report, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer

I used to have a section here for my favorite music, but my tastes change so frequently I deleted it. If you want to compare musical tastes, just talk to me. =-]

Favorite movies: All the Harry Potter movies except 5 (which they absolutely MUTILATED), RENT, Sweeney Todd, Big Fish, American Beauty, Spirited Away, The Simpsons Movie, Pi, Chicago, The Royal Tenenbaums, Little Miss Sunshine, and The Princess Bride

Favorite colors: Violet and black at the moment.

NOTE: As of June 1, 2010, I am attempting to get some fic written that I'm not ashamed of showing. My extended hiatus MAY be over soon, but know that I am very busy and not the most reliable updater. You have been warned.

I'll Always Love the Beast by voldiegirl

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: A poem from Tonks to Lupin that takes place during the sixth book.
Reviewer: liquid_silver Signed
Date: 01/21/08 Title: Chapter 1: Can't Continue

Wow, this is very good! Tonks and Remus are two of my favorite characters; I was inconsolable when they were killed.

Author's Response: Thanks! I think we all felt that way...

Fragmentary Blue by Hatusu

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary:

The whole world has gone crazy, tipped on its side, changes happening so quickly that Harry can’t keep track of them all. He isn’t at the centre of it anymore – he’s drifting peacefully somewhere on the very outer rim, and he likes it this way, and he never wants to go back.

He has a dream one night. Soft hands lift him out of his bed. He opens his eyes and their faces are like maps of a country he’s never been to but has always wanted to go. They say they’ll take him to a place where all he has to is breathe.

He says okay.

After Voldemort's defeat, Harry struggles to come to terms with love, death, and the end of innocence. One-shot. Rated for very, very mild sexual implications.

Incredible. I love your writing -- it's just beautiful. After reading "Take My Heart Away" I expected your other fics to be amazing, and I wasn't the least bit disappointed.

P.S. I Love You by annie

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: One hundred letters, written back and forth between Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy over the course of twenty-five years.
Reviewer: liquid_silver Signed
Date: 09/09/08 Title: Chapter 1: P.S. I Love You

God, this was so sweet! And it's written wonderfully, too. It was flawless, except that a lot of the events that transpired were very unrealistic. But otherwise, it was amazing. Great job!

Mother by dragonwings

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: The dying confessions of Azkaban are often left unheard. But one grey night, cold and alone in Azkaban, Sirius listens and finds the chill in the air is nothing compared to the one in his heart.

"Grey was the colour of moonlight tainted by the darkness of Azkaban and the stench of Dementors. Never white, it nearly blended into the walls, selfishly keeping its tranquil peace to itself.

Azkaban needed some peace. "

This is dragonwings of Gryffindor writing for the Colors of Loss Challenge!

Wonderful. Your writing is haunting and beautiful. After this, I'll be sure to check your other fics out!

Flowers of Innocence by Valentinia

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Two girls, both flowers in their own right, drawn together by flowers. Their friendship was impossible, but it happened. This is how.

Warning: This fic can be interpreted as a frienship fic, but it sort of leans toward femmeslash, though obviously there’s nothing graphic at all (see rating). Still, if the concept itself offends, I wouldn’t read this. The slash warning is just in case.

Very sweet. I would never have imagined Lavender and Pansy as friends, but you do a very good job of making it believable.

Just One Kiss by coolh5000

Summary: Gellert comes to say goodbye and Albus finally allows himself to show his true feelings.

Aww . . . this was amazing. I want to say it broke my heart, but it didn't. It smashed it into a billion tiny pieces.

Voldemort: The Psycho Dark Lord of Hogsmeade (Sweeney Todd Gone Potter) by Schmerg_The_Impaler

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: The final installment of my set of Broadway musical spoofs about Voldemort's life!

This is Stephen Sondheim's brilliant musical, Sweeney Todd, but drastically warped and twisted by me. If you ever wanted to hear a song where Voldemort tries to encourage Fenrir to eat various Potterverse characters, this is the fic for you.

My other two spoofs about Voldemort, those of Les Miserables and Wicked, can be found on my profile. I've also got spoofs of Phantom of the Opera, High School Musical, and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Enjoy!

Gaaah, absolutely fantastic. I dunno why I never saw this before, I was just looking for your "Wicked" spoof when I saw this one. Someone should put this on as a real musical.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm rather proud of this one myself. ^_^

When Green Was Just a Colour by R_Ravenclaw

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: There was a time when I used to be understood and cared about, but that was long ago, and I try not to remember. It came about by strange circumstances, only lasting a short period, hardly any time at all, and it's most likely an event that will never be important in the grand scheme of things; nothing changed: everything stayed the same. And yet it was important, because it isn't every day that you realise who you are, and who you should become. I wish I could think of it without pain — with a fond knowledge of knowing that it changed me for the better. But wishes don't come true… Especially not my own.

Very nice. The emotions are wonderfully portrayed, and I love the ending. Good job.

Drink, Declaration by Astrid Skywalker

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: He wants to drink it all in, milk it all for what it's worth before it all withers away. And it will.

Very angsty SB/RL.

Wow. This is . . . wonderful. I felt like I was right there with them through the whole thing, feeling everything they were feeling. I'd kill to be able to write like that.

Hold Onto Nothing by solemnlyswear_x

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: Sometimes, in the fall, when the leaves are changing from green to brown, you think you can remember your parents.

For Julia, growing up in a wizarding orphanage is always lonely, always sad, and never easy.

An entry by solemnlyswear_x to the Worlds within a World challenge.

Date: 02/17/09 Title: Chapter 1: Hold onto nothing, as fast as you can

This was so well-written! Your use of the second person was perfect for this, and you did an amazing job of portraying Julia's emotions.

Author's Response: Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. :)

Decisions by Cwiddy

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Tonks has a decision to make, the end result leaves her mother to raise her son.
Reviewer: liquid_silver Signed
Date: 09/06/08 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1

This is great! I think this poem shows perfectly how much was lost in the final battle. And it affected me in particular, because Tonks was one of my favorites. Well done!

Author's Response: Tonks and Remus are two of my favorite characters. :) I was just trying to write about her decisions...what would pull at her and why she might have left her infant son. :) Thanks for the complements. I had fun writing this poem!

Silence by a_writer

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: So much can be said through silence.
Reviewer: liquid_silver Signed
Date: 12/15/08 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Short, but absolutely beautiful. The ending was so poignant; I feel like I'm about to cry. I think Ginny and Luna would be great together, but I haven't seen anyone write about them (excluding myself). I can't wait to read your other fics.

Drifting by Potterworm

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: After being tortured into insanity, Alice and Frank Longbottom live in a closed ward for permanent spell damage at Saint Mungo’s.  The Healers say they cannot recognize their family members.  The Healers call them insane.  Alice Longbottom drifts through time, experiencing small blips of sanity when her son, Neville, comes to visit.  This is her story.
Reviewer: liquid_silver Signed
Date: 01/26/09 Title: Chapter 1: Drifting (In Between Insanity)

Wow. That was so sweet. I was so sad to read about Neville's visits, when she didn't recognize him . . . My only criticism is that I think you could've done a better job portraying Alice's insanity. Through most of it she just seemed like a normal person who couldn't speak and was only conscious once every few years. But apart from that, this was very well written.

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it.  I understand your critique too.  When I first started writing this, I considered making her seem more insane, but in the end I decided to merely show her lucid moments and leave her insane moments as more of a mystery.  Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Porcelain Doll by MorganRay

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: She was their plaything for so long. Now that she’s free again, Cho tries to find pleasure in love, but innocence left her long ago with loneliness as her only lover.

Date: 02/08/09 Title: Chapter 1: Porcelain Doll

Very nice. Well-written. I love reading fics about minor characters' lives after Hogwarts, especially when they've changed a lot. You did a very good job with that.

Author's Response: Thanks! I really enjoyed writing this fic, too. It was something a bit different from some of my other fics. I kind of wrote it in the same spirit as I Said I Would Go, but Cho is a different character than Tonks. I guess I liked to write Cho because she's a very open person, but at the same time, she strikes me as someone who can't quite control her own life.

Midnight by rita_skeeter

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: This is how it has always been between them, for as long as either can remember.

Remus and Sirius, and a testament to lifelong friendship.
Reviewer: liquid_silver Signed
Date: 03/01/09 Title: Chapter 1: Midnight

Very nice. I love how you portrayed their friendship, and its profundity. Did you mean for it to have slashy undertones? I thought how you described their affection for each other seemed to hint that their relationship was a bit more than simple friendship. Well, either way, it was very well-written. I think you should write a follow-up to this, about how Remus felt when he first thought Sirius had betrayed Lily and James. Or, perhaps, about Sirius when he thought Remus was the traitor.

Author's Response: Thank you! And *chuckles* I wasn't intending the slashy undertones, but I can see that their type of friendship may indicate that! I'm glad you liked it, anyway. And oh, I am actually intending to wrote one from Sirius' POV after the murders - whether I get round to finishing/posting it up is another matter entirely!

Albus Severus by ray_16

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Al doesn't like his name. Or being named after two oddballs. He asks Uncle Ron, “Why couldn’t Mum have named me instead?” so then maybe he could have had a better name.

Well, this is why...

Big thanks to Azhure for beta-ing this!

Haha, that was so funny. Ron acted OOC, but it answered a question we've all been asking since June of 2007 very humorously indeed.

Author's Response: Ron's OOC? I was afraid of that. But others think otherwise. Hey, we don't think all the same, right? Thanks for the review!
