I'm 16, and from America (unfortunately). I love math and German and writing.
Favorite HP characters: Sirius, Draco, Oliver Wood, Fred and George, Ginny, Bellatrix, Tonks, Remus, Moody
Favorite Ships:
Ron/Hermione (they're so perfect for each other, even if I can't write them *tear*), Draco/Ginny (My absolute favorite ship!! Read A Tale of Two Matchmakers if you haven't. Honestly, you need to. Go. Now.), Remus/Tonks, Sirius/Lily, and Sirius/Ginny (Honestly! If it weren't for the creepy age difference thing, they'd be perfect for each other!)
And pretty much anything else well written... except slash.
Favorite Non-HP books: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Gone With the Wind, Watership Down, and Dune
Favorite TV shows: Gilmore Girls, and a whole bunch of really old shows no one's ever heard of

My friends and I wrote a really hilarious humor fic that everyone should read! But, the thing is, MNFF won't accept it because it's too ooc. But if you ever want to read a really good humor fic, I know you'll love it. It's called "No One in Their Right Mind..." Here's the link: http://www.harrypotterfanfiction.com/viewstory.php?psid=221997
Oh, and here's the summary:
After the semi-final battle, Voldemort makes a life-changing decision.
“I’m tired of trying to take over the goofy Brits,” Voldemort said. “Let’s go to Canadia. And once we get there I can take over America – I’ve been wanting it since I was a small and underappreciated child of amazing talent anyway.”
As might be expected, hilarity ensues.
And I accept anonymous reviews, so if you like it, you can tell me!!

Absolutely perfect banners by Alyssa/Pixichik118!!
This perfect banner is by Social Loner!
Lovely banner by Tash/Pondering!
My two chaptered fics are going to have to be put on temporary hiatus for the next month or so due to the guantlet, classes on the forums, and RL. Don't worry, I'll update ASAP!
Wow — this is so utterly flawless that I am completely speechless. Even so, I'll try to put together enough words to make this a coherent review.
I. Loved. It.
Now that that's said, here's specifically what I loved.
This is the way the world will end:
The first sentence is so straight-forward that it's perfect. It matches the simplistic tone of the fic, and I think it really fits, even if it is a wonderful slap in the face.
I love the theory of this — that every day is the end of the world because of… it's flaws or the evil or so many other reasons. The incurable pessimistic in me found this a joy to read — as strange as that sounds.
Your word choice makes this fic one of the best examples of imagery I've ever seen.
They will work. Toil. Labor and otherwise expend themselves. A small handful will find triumph; most will find only frustration.
But then, this is the way of the world.
It's just — I can see everything, and that is so wonderful. It makes this more terrible that every single thing in this is true. The world does work this way, and it's such a bold observation in a way.
I love the stylistic choice of having the descriptive paragraph followed by the single sentence. After I finished, I sort of noticed that you could just read the single-sentence paragraphs and it's a mini-story or something. Okay, that was random. Moving on… I feel like each of the sentences is sort of like a slap in the face — er, in a good way — and actually builds this to a climax. I felt my heart racing in the end, even though no action really took place. That's the ability of a great story-teller, and the feat is enviable.
I also read the non-HP version, and I liked that ending better:
The world ended today. Yesterday. Last year. It ended because not a soul on this earth did anything to stop it. And, until one soul does, the world will continue to end each day with the setting of the sun.
I can understand why you made this ending with Harry — and I think that's also a great ending and gives more hope than the non-HP one — but I think this ending fits more.
On that note, I'm very glad you added the Harry reference because, if you didn't, I would never have stumbled upon this amazing story. Thank you.
~Alison
Very good.
Author's Response: Why, thank you

This is a great Bellatrix character study; I can just see her life happening that way. In the books we know she was very obsessed, and I, like you, think it was because she was in love with him.
Since she's one of my favourite characters, one thing I found a little jarring was the fact that she called Voldemort "Tom" because even at Hogwarts the books said he had his followers call him by "Lord Voldemort" or "My Lord" or whatever. As his most loyal servant, I don't think she would have refused that to him and called him my the name he hated because it was given by a Muggle. Which reminds me — Muggle should be capitalised. You had it in here a couple of times.
But overall I thought your characterisation was great.
I soon married a man by the last name of Lestrange. But not for love. No, it was for the mere sake of pureblood respect. The man I call my husband is nothing more than a man whose last name I have stolen
I love the way you word this: "nothing more than a man whose name I had stolen"… It's such a great way to put it. I really hate it when people who write Bella make her in love with her husband when, in canon, her feelings would be exactly like this.
At the end I think it might slip a little, though.
But I think the most pathetic thing about my life, is that my finest moments all consist of me being rewarded by the Dark Lord, like a dog.
To me, Bella was not just in love with Voldemort, but obsessed, and therefore she couldn't quite see clearly. And that's why I don't think she would consider her love and devotion for the Dark Lord pathetic, but noble and a wonderful testament to her love.
Jeez, I feel picky now. >.< Really, it was great, and your characterisation, for the most part, was spot-on. I'll go see if you have any other Bella fics! :]
~Alison
Author's Response: Wow, as I said to another reviewer, I have not visited MNFF for quite some time now, and this review was wonderful to read. :)
This is such an old fanfic of mine, and I feel like I have learned so much since I wrote and submitted this. (I now post on another site.) I appriciate your attention to details--I feel like now I am just as "picky" about these past writings of mine. I think you're definitely right about the Tom thing and the pathetic thing. Both are a bit out of character for Bellatrix.
I'm so glad you liked the Lestrange bit; it's still my favourite part of this one-shot. :D
Thank you for the awesome and lengthy review!
--Kate/RP
PS: Is Muggle always supposed to be in caps? I've never known for sure.
Sequel to More than a Feeling
*Chapter 10 is 'A Wedding and a Funeral'*
The scene with the two little muggles girls was so cute. I've never heard anything more hilariously true than:
Sardonically, he wondered if all women, regardless of age or magical ability, were Hufflepuffs inside.
~Alison
Author's Response: Thank you, and I think every woman who is willing to do anything for love is! :D
I love the ending! Snape is the youngest Potions Master in Britain, he's with Eris (who, shall I say for the hundredth time, make the perfect couple), and James and Lily are married. I love it!!
~Alison
Author's Response: I\'ll never get tired of hearing you say that. :D Thank you!
My affinity to the journal compels me to keep it at hand. I, too, am rather shabby, and yet there are pages of my life still unwritten.... Remus reflects on his life and love for Tonks in a companion fic to Moonlight and Shadow that parallels chapter nine onward.
I never really even realized Remus wasn't in the wedding pictures with Sirius, James and Lily. Now I feel bad that he was excluded!
~Alison
Author's Response: They were living in such dangerous times, they couldn\'t take the chance, but it had to have hurt his feelings, even though, as always, he understood.
That was so sad! I really can't wait for your next story...
~Alison
Author's Response: Ta, thanks. :) It is sad that they have to part, but at least Remus knows that nothing can separate them for long!
I love it! I wish it could be like that now...
~Alison
Author's Response: You have oldie songs going through my brain. \"You can\'t hurry love. Oh, you just have to wait...\" and \"Whenever I want you, all I have to do is dream...dream, dream, dream.... :D
I loved it. I loved... well, everything. Nice job!
Author's Response: Aww Thankyou! Its not my best work but I\'m glad you enjoyed it
Sequel to Semi Charmed Life
*The concluding, post-Azkaban story, Far Away, for Far too Long, can be found in the Romance/OP category.*
Since I can (sadly) never have Sirius (who I am in love with almost as much as Rhett Butler...almost), I'm glad he's happy with Rosmerta. I've always thought it was kind of unfair in the books how he dated like everyone but never really seemed to have a long-term relationship
~Alison
Author's Response: In the books, it really only said for certain that Sirius \"seemed unaware\" of the girl staring, implying that he had a cavalier, girls, take them or leave them...another will come by when I want a snog, but my mates are number one with me attitude, but actually, we\'re never told anything concrete, it\'s all fan fiction writers making up what they wish about Sirius\' past romantic history...and I like it like that! :D
*Follows the Marauder Era stories Semi Charmed Life and A Charmed Life*
I'm so glad he came back, but it would still suck to have no one know he's innocent. Another great series!!!!
~Alison
Author's Response: Oh, absolutely, that\'s what I hated about the beginning of HBP, that Fudge said Black \"was by-the-by\", of no concern now. Wrongly accused, falsely imprisoned without trial, hunted and hated, and the man\'s suffering and the Ministry\'s actions don\'t matter anymore? I have a hand gesture for Fudge, and it isn\'t the peace sign!
This is probably the best poem I've ever read on MNFF. Your word choice is amazing, and all the verbs you used hold power and convey every emotion that the reader should feel. The rhyming scheme is perfect—there's enough to make it sound very finished, but not enough to overpower the piece. I would have to say my favourite stanza is this one:
The war is long,
The path is weary.
At every dusk,
Our eyes left teary.
Even though it's short, it's perfect. What a wonderful poem!
~Alison
Awwww that was so cute! I would hate to be Sirius, locked up all day...
~Alison
Author's Response: I\'m with you. Even if Sirius got to slip the leash for an hour or two as Snuffles, once or twice a week, that would still feel like a prisoner being allowed to stretch his legs in a prison yard before being put back in a cell. Ask anyone if they\'d be happy living in their house 24/7 except for a few hours liberty and I\'d bet the answer would be a resounding No!
Snape's life would suck without Eris there, wouldn't it? I liked this ending to the series, but wish there was more *tear*
Incidently, I have now read every single one of your stories!!!!! You're the best writer on this site, I hope you know, and I can't wait to read every time you update a story!
~Alison
Author's Response: Aw, Alison, you rock! Thank you for being the fabulous, wonderful, sweetie darling that you are! ^_^
That was cute. It's beyond me how anyone can rhyme like that, so good job!!
Author's Response: Thank you very much! *is flattered* I\'m thrilled that you like the poem, and thanks so much for your review!
If you're lost, you can look, and you will find me.... After Tonks finds a Time-Turner in a 'suitcase of memories,' a stumble leads to a trip back to 1976. When she goes to Hogwarts to ask Dumbledore for help, she finds Remus.
That was so sweet...Poor Remus thinking Tonks would be too young and hot to ever date him...
~Alison
Author's Response: He doesn\'t have a very good self image, does he? Guess he\'ll have to wait to find out just how desirable he is. ^_~
OMG so funny. If I were to tell you my favorite parts, I would be retyping everything. I loved the shoes part, and I loved Mungo and how he wouldn't listen to Voldemort. I can't wait for the next chapter
Author's Response: Yay, thank you! Those were some of my favourite parts to write as well.
I love him in the first movie too, but the second movie was sooo much better. Trust me. I never watch the first movie anymore. And, if it makes you feel any better, the guy who Mia falls in love with in the second movie is way hotter than the guy in the first.
I feel like I shouldn't be leaving so many reviews, but I'm sure you'll forgive me ^_^
~Alison
Author's Response: It\'s the books I\'m thinking of. The films don\'t exactly do them justice, heh. I think mods prefer reviews with actual review content, lol, so I have to be \'good\' and say if you ever want to email, I\'m at oxnard9@hotmail.com! :)
Of course I know who the guy is! He's the one guy from the first Princess Diaries movie. No idea what his name is, though.
~Alison
Author's Response: The guy who played Michael? Robert Schwartzman. (imdb is a fount of all movie trivia!) I didn\'t even watch the second film because of the lame way they edited him out. :(
I love this fic so much! Oh, and this is really random, but is the girl on your banner Alexis Bledel (Rory from Gilmore Girls)?
~Alison
Author's Response: Chaser921 told me she created the banner because of the story and offered to share it, and I liked it so much, I didn\'t even notice who the girl is....Alexis Bledel! :D You have sharp eyes. Thanks for pointing that out. (Do you know who the guy is? ;)
