I'm 16, and from America (unfortunately). I love math and German and writing.

Favorite HP characters: Sirius, Draco, Oliver Wood, Fred and George, Ginny, Bellatrix, Tonks, Remus, Moody

Favorite Ships:
Ron/Hermione (they're so perfect for each other, even if I can't write them *tear*), Draco/Ginny (My absolute favorite ship!! Read A Tale of Two Matchmakers if you haven't. Honestly, you need to. Go. Now.), Remus/Tonks, Sirius/Lily, and Sirius/Ginny (Honestly! If it weren't for the creepy age difference thing, they'd be perfect for each other!)

And pretty much anything else well written... except slash.

Favorite Non-HP books: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Gone With the Wind, Watership Down, and Dune

Favorite TV shows: Gilmore Girls, and a whole bunch of really old shows no one's ever heard of

******
My friends and I wrote a really hilarious humor fic that everyone should read! But, the thing is, MNFF won't accept it because it's too ooc. But if you ever want to read a really good humor fic, I know you'll love it. It's called "No One in Their Right Mind..." Here's the link: http://www.harrypotterfanfiction.com/viewstory.php?psid=221997

Oh, and here's the summary:

After the semi-final battle, Voldemort makes a life-changing decision.

“I’m tired of trying to take over the goofy Brits,” Voldemort said. “Let’s go to Canadia. And once we get there I can take over America – I’ve been wanting it since I was a small and underappreciated child of amazing talent anyway.”

As might be expected, hilarity ensues.

And I accept anonymous reviews, so if you like it, you can tell me!!

It Takes a Thief by Kerichi

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:

It takes a thief to catch a thief, but when Auror Ginny Weasley goes beyond the call of duty to catch Draco Malfoy red-handed, he catches her off guard, professionally and romantically.

I love this fic. I love the Draco/Ginny ship, and you definitely write it the best. This was very different from the Matchmakers fics, and yet still very good. I love all the non-HP things you add in, like mythology.

~Alison

Author's Response: Thank you, Alison! Mythology is fun, and there is such a wide variety of it, that sprinkling it in fics is like adding sprinkles to batter to give the cake extra color. :)

Sweet Anger by Kerichi

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:

When Snape catches her in a compromising position and revokes Hogsmeade privileges, Tonks sees red. She plans payback and discovers that while revenge is supposedly a dish best served cold, it tastes even better hot.

*Not the usual 'Don't Stand so Close to Me' variety romance.*

That was actually really good...I've never read a Tonks/Snape fic before. (I actually never thought of that as a possibility, lol) Anyway, I really liked it!!

~Alison

Author's Response: I can only write Tonks/Snape pre-Remus, but since most people don\'t meet their soul mate right out of school and settle down, if Tonks had a youthful thing for Slytherin men, I think Snape would be a far better lover (in all possible ways) than Evan! :D

Control the Wind by Doctor Phoenix

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Theodore Nott thought he was in control of his life. When a tragedy makes him realize that he's not, he'll do whatever it takes to get that control back...even allying himself with people he has always considered his enemies.

“You can’t always control the wind, but you can control your sails.” -Anthony Robbins

The rating may go up in later chapters. I will not incorporate any events from Deathly Hallows.
Reviewer: R_Ravenclaw Signed

Theodore Nott's just a ridiculously interesting character, isn't he? The way you've written him really fits perfectly into canon.

Your characterisation of him is just wonderful. I love how real you've made him, especially by giving him little quirks (like hating house-elves). JKR said at one point that Theo didn't feel the need to be in a gang like Draco's, and I think that really came across here. Their confrontation was very IC and believable.

“I’d watch myself if I were you, Theo. You’re nothing, only a minor supporter with no real influence. I, on the other hand…” As a way of completing his sentence, Draco rolled up his sleeve and covertly displayed the black brand on his arm. Theodore tried to hide his look of disgust.

I think this moment was my favourite. Draco's really in too deep, and Theo's reaction is perfect.

I like your use of bolded quotes throughout the story; I feel like it gives it real depth. It's nice that Theo cares about his father, and that his father has always been trying to protect him.

On that note, I have to say that I think one of my favourite things about this chapter is how you wrote his father. From the little you show, it makes it seem natural that Theo turned out the way he did.

The theme of control is really very interesting, and there's a lot to be done with it. I have to admit that what attracted me to this story was the title. It's an absolutely perfect one.

Too Much is Never Enough by Kerichi

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:

Severus wasn't a white knight content to be ennobled by the purity of his affection. He felt more like a black knight, greedy to possess his lady fair. Although he was willing to terrorise peasants and burn villages to complete his quest, could he slay the dragon of pride to make a romantic gesture?

The One I Love by KASK

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Lily Evans loves Severus Snape. She's even on her way to break up with James. But that may all change when she hears what James has to say...
Reviewer: R_Ravenclaw Signed
Date: 09/29/07 Title: Chapter 1: The One I Love

Even though this would normally be a very short piece for an entire change of feelings on Lily's part, I think you wrote it really well. Because I think you made it clear that she never actually was in love with Snape. James was always there, waiting.

I love this line: It is more than feeling safe around him — it is feeling happy, alive, loved, needed, wanted, beautiful. It is feeling like there is no place on earth I’d rather be.

Amazing fic, really! I love it!

~Alison

Author's Response: Thank you! :D

Paint it Black: the Portraits of Phineas Nigellus by Kerichi

I feel like a stalker or something, since I'm all of a sudden leaving all these reviews for your fics--but I guess you are my favorite author on the site. I really liked this story. I was kind of skeptical after reading the summary, but it's really good! I can't wait for the next chapter!!

~Alison

Author's Response: You\'re not a stalker, you\'re a reader with the kindness of heart to encourage with a review instead of lurking and leaving! :D

The summary is only half done, but I don\'t feel right putting up the other half until I finish writing the story. I\'m afraid it will be like trailers for films you see over and over--when you finally watch the film, it\'s like \'oh yeah, I knew that was going to happen.\'

Reviewer: R_Ravenclaw Signed
Date: 05/24/07 Title: Chapter 2: Felicity

I liked this chapter. Yeah, I kind of think having your parents on a portrait would get around to being really annoying...but maybe that's just me, lol. I love how you can write these characters and make them seem real and different from the in books....I don't know, like how Phineas is supposed to be so angry, but he's different in your fic, and yet is somehow completely believable! I can't really explain what I mean–I hope you understand!! ^_^

~Alison

Author's Response: Thank you! Phineas got angry with Harry, for being a \"poor, puffed-up popinjay\" heh, but he was more a sardonic Slytherin to me in every other scene. I don\'t think of him as someone with a Weasley short temper or an anger management problem, more a Snape-ish fellow with a sharp tongue, who was frequently exasperated by the dunderheads around him. :D

In the Service of Voldemort by mugg1eborn

Good story, but I don't really think Draco would refer to the Dark Lord as Voldemort, even if it was in a dream. It's really interesting so far; I love fics about Draco....

Hesperides' Apple by Ogygiasylph

Reviewer: R_Ravenclaw Signed
Date: 08/17/08 Title: Chapter 1: 1. Ashes to ashes, the past relinquished

I've been searching and searching for the perfect Draco/Ginny fic — one that's original and slightly angsty. I think this is it. I read your fic ages ago, when it only had about four chapters, so I'm glad to see it again. (I'm also glad I don't remember any of it so that I can be surprised. :] )

First I think I should mention how amazing the basic idea behind this fic is. I've never seen anything like it. It's so ridiculously original, it's just really a joy to read. I've read and written Draco/Ginny fics, but nothing comes close to this in originality. I wonder how you came up with the idea.

Hm, now to everything else. First off, I love the relationship between Draco and his family. So often in fanfic the Malfoys really hate each other, and in here I was glad to see Draco amused (though slightly annoyed) by his mother, and sad about his father's death:

"Me neither." For the first time, a hint of hurt pierced through the cool tone of Draco Malfoy's words.

Poor Draco. :[

Also, because this fic seems as thought it's going to be very dark, I was pleasantly surprised to find such unexpected humour. Not too much, but just the right amount. My favourite:

"I'm going to string pieces of raw meat in front of the Manor and wait for the widest woman to show up, attracted by the stench?"

*giggles* I also found Ginny's lessons (it feels like she's becoming a princess or something! ;] ) to be highly amusing.

The characterisations are excellent so far, which is quite a feat for a fic that is this unusual.

Ginny is especially well-done. I think you perfectly capture her fierce and determined attitude.

Ginny Weasley looked her straight in the eye. It was now or never.

"I will meet him," she said, willing her voice to be firm, "and marry him if necessary."

Draco is also wonderfully written. You managed to pull off his coolness while not making him evil or too nice. There wasn't much about him this chapter, so I can't wait to see how you write him in future chapters.

A couple of things confused me, though. Why did Ginny go to Lucius' funeral? It seems like a random thing to do and was never explained. She was there, right?

Also, Ginny's reaction when she finds out that she's marrying Draco:

"Draco Malfoy."

A wave of reassurance and pleasure chilled Ginny back to common sense.

Why is Ginny happy that it's Draco? Does she understand that he isn't really evil? Did she ever get to know him? Is she just glad it's someone she knows fairly well?

This confused me even more later:

"No, Madame, I am as pleasantly surprised as you are," Ginny lied.

So does this mean she never really was happy about it at all? In which case that previous quote wouldn't make sense.

It seems as though Ginny's reaction to it being Draco could be expanded on, and I think that would make it more interesting. What exactly is she thinking? Did she regret signing the paper? Unless these questions are going to be answered next chapter, I think that would have been very interesting to read here.

I also really want to know how the Weasleys died. Are we going to find out in later chapters?

Last thing: this fic is very intriguing, and has me dying to know what is going to happen. (If only I had discovered it during them summer when I had time to read!) I especially wonder when Draco is going to find out she's Ginny (or if he will… but I assume he will…) and if he's ever going to love her. And if she's going to love him as well. I certainly hope so, being a die-hard Draco/Ginny shipper. But I'm sure whatever you come up with will be perfect, whether there is a happy ending or not.

~Alison

Reviewer: R_Ravenclaw Signed
Date: 08/30/08 Title: Chapter 2: 2. A journey of discovery

I know I've already talked all about characterisation last review, but I must say that you're definitely not disappointing me this time around — I think it's excellent. These few lines, I thought, are excellent examples:

Not a bathtub, a pool. Everything here must be to the measure of their ego.

Regardless of what she becomes, she is paid for this. Nothing more than a lucky courtesan. A high-class prostitute.

"Well, we couldn't exactly affo-" Ginny began without shame.

Also, one of the best things I think you're accomplishing so far is how you're writing the relationship. They seem to be having an affection for each other without it being unbelievable or forced. And considering this is basically an arranged marriage, I think it's coming off perfectly.

And though he had promised himself he would not care, that if she suited him he would be satisfied with the new woman the agency had sent, he found himself longing to know more about her past. In fact, rather than knowing more about her, he wanted to know things about her that she would not want him to know.

I feel badly for Draco and Ginny here. I love that Draco wants to know more about Ginny, and I think that's lovely, but she has so many secrets… it's going to be hard for her.

I think my favourite line in regards to their relationship would have to be:

He couldn't bring himself to figure out which young woman, of the bright and direct, or the sophisticated one, he preferred.

It makes me feel for Draco. He wants to like the proper Ginevra, but instead he's falling for Ginny, who he knows he shouldn't like this much. How perfectly written. As a D/G fan, this makes me very happy. :]

Another thing I thought you wrote perfectly in this section was the descriptions of the Malfoy Manor. It seems just like a house the Malfoys would have, and you really make it come alive. I could just envision the house and the grounds this chapter, and you made it truly lovely. I want to live there! :]

Oh! You missed an html tag to end the italics at the beginning of the chapter, so basically the entire thing was italicised on MNFF. It was annoying (I actually couldn't stand it so I had to go find it on Fire and Ice) so you might want to go and fix that.

I really have no con-crit for this chapter. There's a lot of things I hope to see in future chapters. I really can't wait to read them!

I'm surprised about the site rejecting you. The only thing was that I can't imagine anyone – at all – giving his wife a high five when he finds out she's pregnant – no matter how young he is. Other than that, it was a great story, and I love the irony near the end (the whole hair/ defeating Voldemort thing)

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. The high-five was one of the issues that the admins at the other site had a problem with, and I admit that it\'s a little childish, but I personally really like it and refuse to cut it. I think it encapsulates James\' feelings about the pregnancy really well. He\'s not scared or uncertain at all, just happy and excited. Nevertheless, that\'s the beauty of opinion, and I\'m glad to have yours now. Thanks for the review!
