Vicarious by MaiaMadness

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:
"Credulous at best, your desire to believe in angels in the hearts of men. The universe is hostile, so impersonal. Devour to survive. So it is, so it's always been. Vicariously I live while the whole world dies.

Severus doesn't believe there is good in the world. How can there be, when he must kill Albus Dumbledore?

Ooh, a Snape-centric!

He's hard to write, but you've got him on the screen well. It's interesting how you put things from his perspective, but it was a little jumpy. Good concept, though!

Author's Response: Thank you! Glad you found something to like. I know it\'s not perfect... :) Thanks for reviewing!

Author's Response: yes, it is. =)

Going Under by harrypotterfangirl21

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: In the midst of the Battle of Hogwarts, Ginny finds Harry dead.

However, accepting death is not so easy... and sometimes depression is easier than grieving.

Most warnings are precautions. This deals heavily with depression, however, so it is quite the angst-fest, and somewhat disturbing.

Ooh, Katie! Squee!

It's okay, Harry is fun to kill. In a lot of my fics (that I don't submit), I do bad things to him just to see what he'll do.

Y'know, if I could change one thing about DH, I would have killed Harry. So this was like, ooh-tastic.

You wrote Ginny's greif well. It was realistic, moving, and dark. The thoughts running through her head caught my attention; the alchohol is well placed and well used. Overall, teh fantasticness.

My only complaint is that things moved a little quickly. Ginny went from near-suicidal to calm acceptance in a few moments. But, you handled it cooly.

:D :D :D

Angst, angst, Katie writes good angst.

-Stubby

Author's Response: STUBBY! Ooh, thank you ever so much! I would have killed Harry in DH too, had I the chance. . . .

Ah, yeah, it might have moved a little quickly. But she\'d been wallowing in depression for six months, so it was about time she got calm again, eh?

I\'m glad you think I write good angst! This is my first D/A fic, so hearing something like that makes me grin evilly. . . . Thanks again for such a great review! ^_^

Boy by SiriuslyMental

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Nine year-old Harry Potter is sure that normal is just not enough. In fact, with the odd happenings that always seem to occur when he's around and his dead parents, he's convinced that there's no other explanation - he's a superhero. But when Harry runs away from home it may take more than superpowers to bring him back.

Awww... this story's going in my favourites.

I love Harry. He's so... so tragic, so amazing. And when he's a little kid, it's just so heartbreaking to read about him. You did a fine job of painting that bittersweet picture.

I can't wait for more.

Jack-o'-lantern by Stubbornly_appeared

Aww, thanks! Reviews always brighten my day. Especially on older stories. James and Lily's limelight always does fly to different places, doesn't it?

It's Dark by lilyevans489

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •

One shot. It’s centred around my idea of death , so don’t read if you don’t like dark stories.

Have I reviewed this before? Well, in any case, that was an interesting poem. It was a little repetitive and dry-cut, but compelling and creepy.

Author's Response: Thanks! i hope it was. I don\'t like the idea of Voldermort meeting his mother and walking off into the sunset; i think someting worse would happen. Definetly something creepy.

Katie! Squee!

You know how much I love dear little Harry. And, sadly, I like it when he's sad. So, this poem hit the spot for me. I especially like the last two stanzas: they show a touching scene.

*pokes* Super job!

I\'m glad you liked it! I\'m not too proud of this one, so. . . .

Little Ariana by hufflepuffjewel

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: A sweet poem about the third Dumbledore sibling, the one with a tragic life and an even more tragic ending. Hope you all enjoy!

Sleep, little Ariana, your time to rest is now.
Hush, little Ariana, your time to dream is now.

And now, you know, we have to make you hide,

Colours Of Life by xombie

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Each moment is a decision, defined by the circumstances. Who knows? Had it not been for an overprotective cousin, perhaps Rose Weasley and Scorpius Malfoy could have been the best of friends. Perhaps in one point in time and space, they are. As it happens, their relationship was defined by one catalytic factor, James Potter, and now, they are sworn enemies.

This story is a chronicle of their first year at Hogwarts, and their last. It is a tale of happenstance and familial influence, of an enmity that was not theirs to decide. Read and find out how such an enmity can influence the lives of two innocent children and wreck them. Will the injury last forever?

Due to my heavy work-schedule, this fic will be on hold till early June. My apologies to all.

*tacklehug*

Manu! This is great!

I love the potrayal of a budding friendship/romance between two family enemies- very Romeo and Juliet like. It also reminds me of Severus and Lily, in a way (if they hadn't already known eachother). Severus and Lily had it all going for them, but James Potter 1 and company let a little doubt and discord creep in. Then, they were Sorted, and things just went wonky. With your Rose and Scorpius, I can picture a lot of half-apologies, furtive glances, and unsent notes in the future.

James is also a great character. Just like his namesake. I'll bet he might get an 'I'm sorry!' forced out of him, but will be very observant of interactions between Rose and Scorpius. I wonder how Albus will fit into the picture....

Overall, I liked the end confrontation a lot. The dialouge was superb and the emotions were realistic and intense.

:D Keep up the good work! I can't wait for more!

An Issue Of Trust by Sirenny

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: It is said that to be forewarned is to be forearmed. But sometimes, even with the knowledge of what is to come, the destination will always be the same - no matter the difference in the path travelled. Waking up one morning Harry finds his familiar surroundings eerily altered. Sent to a dark future shaped under the rule of Voldemort, in which all knowledge of his existence has been forgotten, Harry is forced to rely on one of the few people who remembers his name: Severus Snape. 6th Year AU. You already know how I think this poem is awesome, but I'd love to reiterate that it's...

...powerful.

...touching.

...sad.

...emotional.

And awesome! Did I say that?

It's poetry, mate. It's allowed to be short.

I\'m EXTREMELY HONOURED that you think of this poem so highly, because you are the best free verse poet in the history of, like, EVER.

Usually my poems are verging on epic, so this one is short by my standards. . . . ^_^

In Her Hands She Held The Whole World by Sirenny

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: The thing I had never before considered about Muggles is that there are, and always have been, so very many of them. It seems ironic that I would have missed such a discernable fact. Had I ever stumbled across it written in a book I would have merely shaken my head at the thought that someone felt the need to write down something so elementary. Even then, however, I would not have considered the implications of what it could mean. The facts never changed though, only my perception of them; that there are thousands, probably hundreds of thousands, for each individual witch or wizard.

What If? by Mem_Marie

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: What if something came, something so unexpected and unbelievable, that it had the power to change your whole life? A secret of such overwhelming power and horror, that you were forced to change not only yourself, but the way you saw the world as whole?

We all fancy we know the Potters; mischievous and powerful James, beautiful and strong Lily. But how do we know? In the end, might they have just been human?

[Dark and extremely AU; you have been warned…]

A Letter For Fred by PadfootnPeeves

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: George is feeling depressed after his brother's death. Molly suggests to write out his feelings- but how will that turn out? A rather sentimental poem from George to Fred.

Such a sad poem, Padfoot! I really liked it; it sounded very rythmic and almost song-like but still like something George might write. Really touching.

Why We Wear Black by x_GinnyPotter_x

Wow!

First let me say that it was a lovely piece. I really did like it.

One thing I think needed a bit of work was the flow. I dunno, it just seemed jerky to me. Certain paragraphs jumped to the next with seemingly no relation.

Another tidbit of critique I might offer would be towards the emotion. The end was very touching, but overall there was pretty much a feeling of... detachment.

On the plus side, though, the tie-in of the colour worked perfectly. The theme of black and funerals fit into the story and packed a punch at the end. Great job with a tough challenge entry!

Loss is the Color of My True Love's Eye by ProfPosky

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: When Mad-Eye falls from the sky, he leaves more than the Order of the Pheonix wondering. The Muggle who loves him grieves his absence in her own way.

Reviewer: Stubbornly_appeared Signed

Hmm. Interesting story.

I must admit that I was rather confused. Really confused. What era was this in, was the woman a Muggle, was she an OC, who was her husband, what was going on? I'm still not exactly sure, but I've come to the conclusion that this is August in DH about an OC named Elizabeth that was in love with Moody. Eh?

In the end, though, I enjoyed the dialogue. It seemed very realistic and was quite compelling. The descriptions, too: they were smooth and grabbing.

Even though I didn't get it, I still liked it.

-Stubby

Author's Response: You are right - they are at Bill's wedding, and the woman is an OC named Elizabeth who is actually married to Moody. In the sense that it introduces a new character in a one shot, and so obliquely, it is not the best challenge entry or one-shot in general, perhaps. I took the opportunity of the challenge to write a story about a character and a situation I am working out in longer fics. Muggle Matters is the prologue to Muggling Along, which tells the story of their marriage and what comes after. I got one chapter of Muggle Matters up before we were asked to refrain from submitting to the Queue, and I have been sitting on those that are ready to go until we are told it is well to submit again. When I get up to it, Muggling Along, written for a contest quite a while ago, will be overhauled as well before it goes on to become a very long fic. I am highly complimented that you found it an enjoyable fic even if it was not entirely clear. I wanted it to seem realistic and to give a sense of immediacy with the details, and perhaps I succeeded. Thank you very much for the review!
