The Happy Couple by Equinox Chick

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Romilda Vane is a young reporter for The Daily Prophet. Currently writing a popular column for the Social pages, she is outraged when the highlight of the social calender - the wedding of Harry James Potter to Ginevra Molly Weasley - is given to Lavender Brown to write.

Lavender isn't happy either, for their boss (He-Who-Pays-Our-Wages) has threatened to assign her to the Cookery section unless she dishes the dirt on her friends. She readily agrees to Romilda taking on the assignment for what could the Saviour of the Wizarding World possibly have to hide?

This is Equinox Chick of Hufflepuff and this is my entry for The Weddings Challenge in The Great Hall. I chose prompt 3 - The Daily Prophet Report.

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling, but I think you all know that.

Thank you very much to Samarie (Hopeful_Song) for beta'ing this story for me, and giving me some excellent advice.

The Sexual Sitiuations are really very mild, and merely implied.

The Only One by U-No-Poo

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •

Her strawberry blonde locks danced freely down her back, and her simple, white wedding dress brought out every beautiful curve in her body. Her face broke into a smile as she saw her fiancé, Teddy Lupin, standing beside the minister. Today, they would become husband and wife.

This is U-No-Poo of Ravenclaw House writing for the Great Hall's Weddings Challenge; prompt - The Big Weddings.

The One Left Behind by DownWithTheCarrows113

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: How would you feel if the only person who ever understood you disappeared from the earth forever? How would you feel if your unborn child would never know its father? It felt like someone had killed me rather than him, for if he was dead then so was I because how could I live or even smile without him?

This was how Lucy Black felt about the death of her beloved Sirius. When you grieve you become closer to those experiencing the same feelings as you. This story calls in the question: Can you ever be happy once the one you loved has died? And What if Sirius didn't actually die? How would you feel if the one you thought had died found you in the arms of his best friend?

To Be Second by msk8

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Lidiya Shale, Minister of Magic, resents Harry Potter for beating her to the title of most influencial person in the wizarding world.

Disclaimer: I am not and never will be J. K. Rowling, so I have come to the conclusion that I must not own Harry Potter.

The DH spoilers are very, very, mild.

The Rat's Lament by Virgil

The End of Fear by MagEd

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: 2010 QSQ Awards Winner for Best Alternate Universe

Sometimes, late at night, when she lies safely in her dormitory bed, she allows herself to think not of Dean, or her friends, or her brothers, or her schoolwork, or the war that's slowly destroying the wizarding world. Instead she thinks of Harry and if things could have been different.

In five different worlds that could have been but weren't, there are five different ways Harry and Ginny could be Harry and Ginny. Circumstances change, but they always find each other in the end. *one-shot*

The Gathering Storm and the Crib by hestiajones

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: War is looming right outside the door as a mother rocks her child to sleep.

A sonnet written for the Diamond Challenge at PA. My chosen theme was Innocence.

Too Rash With the Rash by Karaley Dargen

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Molly Prewett and her best friend Lucy have had enough of Bellatrix Black, and so have dozens of other students. If the two girls played a prank on Bella-Cruella, as students call her when she can't hear them, they would certainly go down in Hogwarts' secret history of famous pranksters.

Their plan is easy and foolproof until another Gryffindor decides that he has been pushed around for too long, and takes a step that everyone will regret in the end.

This was originally written for the April Monthly Challenge in TTB, but turned out.. a bit too long. This is the longer, and in my opinion, much better version.

A billion thanks to Natalie for being a fantastic beta and friend!

The Vindication Of James Potter by ToBeOrNotToBeAGryffindor

Rated: 6th-7th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary:

"James Sirius Potter, it is the judgment of the Wizengamot that you have been found guilty. You knowingly, in possession of sound mind and body, used the Cruciatus Curse and the Killing Curse in the intentional torture and murder of one Gregory Goyle the Third."

James Potter was going to Azkaban for the rest of his natural life, and his whole family was in shambles. His wife and child have fled the country, his sister was missing, and his parents were a wreck. However, James knew that he had larger problems: his guilt was coming more and more in question.

Though he knew that James was withholding information about the circumstances of the murder of which he had been found guilty, Harry had secrets of his own; however, even he could not handle this torrent of trouble alone. Can Harry trust his darkest confidences to anyone? Even family?

How will the Potter clan stop the downward spiral into pain and disaster, and can they recover what they've lost?

This fic was nominated for a 2010 Quicksilver Quill Award - Best Next-Generation Story.

The Note He Left by ToBeOrNotToBeAGryffindor

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary:

A note was discovered in the aftermath of Harry's capture at Malfoy Manor. It's sweet, it's romantic, it's...complete fluffy rubbish.

What will happen to this heartfelt missive? Will it find its intended recipient, or will it be lost in the wreckage of Voldemort's former occupation?

*

This is a companion piece to The Colour of Distance.

I strongly advise you to read that first.

The Date by Amelia Bedelia

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •

Once Lily thinks she is free of his habit, James asks her out for butterbeers and realizes that she might have just accidentally agreed to go on a date with James after all. (Three-part L/J one-shot)
