I like it! It diffently don't think that it is to cliché and I'm really happy that you had a person come to Lilys house and explain all that stuff to her parents, because alothough J.K. Rowling said that is what happened, maney authers do not write about this. I think It is really intersting. But with the thing with Lily telling the story, you might want to like tranport the reader into her memorys, like we are going in her pensilve so that we can get all the deatile and stuff.
