Haha, awh :) A cute ending to a cute story!

Author's Response: Thank you. I expect you know who she's marrying :)

aw, cute. mildly sad and slightly confusing ending. but really nice.

Author's Response: Confusing? Do you mean the end. Hmm, might make more sense if you read my Lavender chaptered fic (Lavender, blue a Gryffindor True) You'll get an idea of who she could well be marrying. ;-) Thank you for all your reviews today. ~Carole~

She was marrying Blaise! Okay. Sorry. I just finished reading your fic about Lavender and Blaise.

This was so achingly sweet. I love the way it turned from Seamus' almost hesitancy in taking Lavender to the ball, and then completely falling for her.

Author's Response: She may have been marrying Blaise ... ha ha. I guess I need to write that one. Glad you liked that story. ~Carole~

Carole, this was a lovely fluffy piece; I really enjoyed reading it. I love your portrayal of Lavender, anyway, but I especially adored this pairing. Seamus is just so darn cute. However, I am here once again to Irish!pick, because I'm irritating like that. Irish people don't 'snog.' We 'meet' or we 'score.' So Seamus was either 'meeting' Lavender or 'scoring' her - not snogging :)

Author's Response: And there was me thinking you'd shout at me for having Seamus say 'Yer Man' at the end there (ha ha, I swear I wrote that and thought of you scowling). Hmm, now, you see in England - certainly - scoring means going a lot furthur than a bit of a kiss (not to mention the drug reference), so I might leave it. But if I ever get around to finding Seamus a woman of his own then I'll send it to you to Irish!Pick. Thank you for the review. ~Carole~

Oooh Carole! I finally got around to reading this, and I have to say, it's such a lovely piece of fluff. I like how you captured that moment/night - there's no giant conflict, there's no drama, just a wonderful night for two people who are in love for the first time.

I can very well imagine that the way you wrote Seamus here shows what actually goes on in a boy's mind at a time like that. I also thought it was good that you didn't shy away from showing the.. eh.. physical side of this too. Of course he would look at her cleavage - he's fourteen/fifteen and she's pretty.

What I thought was best about this story though is the ending. I felt like watching a movie, in a way. You pulled this off wonderfully - of course at first I thought it was Seamus marrying her, as a sparkly diamond crown on a huge pink fluff cake. But then they remained best friends for all this time, and they both seem happy (I don't see unrequited feelings from Seamus here, not sure if you had any intentions here... He seems like a best friend who just realises once more that his female friend is actually really hot. But the wink at the end makes him seem happy about her marriage). And this ending gives the story sort of your ... uh.. mark. It just makes the whole thing feel like something you wrote, so that I probably would have recognised your story-style even if I hadn't known it was you.

I'm very impressed by your fluff skills, and I just adore Seamus/Lavender here.

Author's Response: Thank you, Kara. I was trying to convey a certain wistfulness that you always have for your first love (unless it ends REALLY badly). Seamus will always see her as that pretty girl he danced with and kissed, and lavender was far more suitable for him than Angelina - LOL. Thanks again ~Carole~

I really enjoyed this Carole... totally believable and canon-compliant. Loved it, especially the surprise ending. It's nice to think you could end up with such a substantial friendship from first love. Great job!

Author's Response: Thank you, Lori. I like them remaining friends, but then I think that particular year group would all remain friends given the DA and life under the Carrows. ~Carole~

Aw, what a sweet ending! That was really lovely. I absolutely believe it happened in canon and want to know more about how that last scene came to be with Seamus standing in for Lavender's father. Great job with both characters, it was so refreshing to read about them before the events of the later books. As a Ravenclaw, I should perhaps be offended by the bookish non-participation of my house at the dance, but that would have totally been me sitting there on the side talking it up so I'm not, LOL! Good luck in the challenge! ~Gina :)

Author's Response: Thanks Gina. OOOH, the last scene. Well, I left that deliberately vague but I do have three other Lavender fics on the site and whilst this isn't really a prequel to any of them, I do pair her with three different men. I know who my favourite is, though. I'm a bit mean to Ravenclaws, aren't I? Sorry. Thanks again ~Carole~

Hey Carole,
Brilliant one-shot here! I don't quite get the ending though... Seamus doesn't marry Lavender, but does he still have feelings for her? How did you intend it to be portrayed?

Haha, I'm having a hard time adjusting to this. In my Potterworld, Seamus ends up marrying Lavender, his original Hogwarts sweetheart... young love. Kind of like that awful cliche in American movies! Plus, in my Next-Gen fic I've got S and L having three kids, including one set of twins, whom one of is one of my main characters.

Oh yeah, I really hope another chapter of Lavender, blue is coming our way! *hint hint*. But seriously, I understand the deadlines thing. Its a chaotic life we lead sometimes, isn't it?

Author's Response: Ah, well, in my world she never marries Seamus because of a certain Mr Zabini(nd I haven't finished Lavender Blue yet, so I can't tell you if she marries anyone - ha ha ) The end of this fic is that he does still have feelings for her - not necessarily romantic - but he appreciates a good looking girl. There's one more chapter of Lavender blue btw - that's all. And then I think I'll cry when it ends. Thank you so much for the review~Carole~
