I think you really got the emotion spot on in this chapter, especially at the end. The relationship with James and his mother is so sweet!

this is probably the best james/lilly story i've read yet! the plot is really believable and i think u stay really true to the characters or at least what i imagine they would be keep up the good work and i can't wait to read the next chapter!

As much as I love James, he doesn't always do the right thing, but you'll have to wait and see whether Sirius does get a chance to say his goodbyes. However, in a crisis like this, I think he falls apart just as much as anyone else would and perhaps more because he pushes people away. And I completely agree with you; he is an amazing person! :)

I have tears in my eyes right now! This chapter was so beautifully written and you conveyed James' struggle to come to terms with his mums illness so well!

I think you got the character of James so right as I feel that he would have definately cut himself off from his friends, not wanting them to worry or burden them.

I imagined what James would do in a crisis based on Harry's behavior in OOTP, but also I think that he wouldn't want to be a burden, as you said. And, while there is a healthy dose of angst in this chapter, I didn't want to make it too mopey, because I think that Lily is ultimately a very strong character. I do remember that you reviewed asking for a long chapter, so I'm glad I could deliver! Sirius did send James an owl, but James just didn't answer. You'll find out why in Chapter 11!

wth!! I wrote a long review!!! And for some obscure reason only 'O sirius" got posted out of the whole thing.. which looks kindof silly. :(
Anyway, what i said was that this was such a sweet chapter and that i loved every single moment of it! Sirius is a sweetheart! Loved his intervention! and the protectiveness of his friend's girl.

Author's Response: I didn't actually find that out of the ordinary, since I end up thinking "Oh, Sirius" quite a lot whenever I read the Harry Potter books! :) Yes, Sirius has many faults, but he's very, very loyal, which is something I wanted to bring out in this chapter. Oh and thanks for the review, especially since you had to repost it!

I really liked Sirius in this chapter, I always like him, but I really liked him in this. I dunno why. Also, I think you wrote Lily's reaction to James leaving very well. Her frustration was very realistic and just all around well written. Well done! I really want to know what James' deal is, what's going on with his family and all that. He had better have a good reason for leaving.
