Author's Response: Thanks! I'm glad you want to keep reading, first off! I really like alternating points of view as well because it's fun to write. Also, I chose to alternate by chapter because I think it's really important to know what's going on in both James and Lily's minds, and I didn't want to write 3rd person omniscient. :)

I'm glad you liked the kiss and I agree--james' leaving after kissing Lily is one of the more intriguing chapter endings i've written :) probably the next chapter will be up somewhere in the beginning of July, as I won't have my computer with me for the next week, but it's about halfway done!

Author's Response: Thanks for the wonderful review! I like the whole Congreve quote better too. In answer to your question, James hasn't been telling anyone about his mum because he doesn't want to burden anyone else, and everyone would be pitying him, which he doesn't want. I think he and Harry share that trait. Then when Lily was upset already he would have only added to her misery by telling her, but he needed to be there for her anyway. Needless to say, very conflicted. And I was surprised at how fast I wrote this chapter as well; I think it's a record xD

I've really liked reading this story so far, and I'm sorry I haven't left any comments up to this point. When I start a story after multiple chapters have been published, I'm usually too engrossed in reading one chapter after another to say anything in between. Especially when a story is so good. I think you've done a wonderful job with these characters, and your story has a wonderful mix of positive and negative emotion. I'm excited to see where we go from here, and though we all know Lily and James end up together, it's always interesting to see different takes on how they get there. What can I say? I'm a sucker for Lily/James stories (and H/G, as should be obvious by my name, but I suppose that's rather unrelated).

That's why I started writing this, because I feel like JKR gives us hints through the series on how James and Lily get together but not exactly how they get there. Author's Response: First off, thanks for the review! I'm glad that's what you got out of the chapter, because it's meant to be fun but also accentuate the tension between them. Right now, it's about a third of the way through the story, or maybe a little more, so there will probably be 20-24 chapters in total. That's my best guess, since I haven't written the rest yet. :)
