Starting the New Year by TwinSuns

Rated:
Summary: Just a sweet Lily/James idea that came to my head while I was brainstorming for my other fic. I'm pretty sure it'll stay a oneshot, but who knows, it depends upon you, the readers! Anyways, Lily is feeling down on New Years Eve, and there is only one guess who is there to make the world seem brighter (despite the Filibuster's No Heat, Wet Start Fireworks!)

Pain Doesn't Cost a Thing by Ron x Hermione

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Even from young children, Brett and Emma have been inseparable. When they are eleven, they both get letters to a famous Wizarding school. But their luck runs deeper as they soon find out that they’ve been placed into the same house. But that all comes crashing down when Brett has to move away to a northern country for his parents’ occupations. They can no longer have contact, and are utterly heartbroken, realising they’ve been in love this entire time.

---

The year is 2044 and Emma Collins is now seventeen and in her seventh year at Hogwarts. She’s made new friends and is beautiful and talented. While it’s taken her a while to get over the loss of her old friend, she’s just gotten back on track in her life and every boy is starting to notice her, looking twice when she walks past. When he, Brett, left, she was heartbroken.

But Emma’s life takes a drastic change when she learns of the TriWizard Tournament, a series of dangerous competitions in which students (that are strictly seventeen) compete in dangerous tasks to win the glory and envy of the two schools that are challenging them. Emma decides to enter, but she knows she won’t even be considered for the contest. Or will she?

Emma’s whole life is challenged; with someone she once loved’s return, horrific deaths, utter and heartbreaking betrayal, and challenging tasks, she has only one mission: to survive the next day in her final year at Hogwarts.

This was written by Ron x Hermione of Hufflepuff, trying not to perish herself as she answers the call to the TriWizard Tournament Competition.

This story got first place in the Triwizard Tales Challenge!!!!! Thanks so much to the judges and all of the lovely reviewers who kept me going! *hugs*

*sobs and sobs and sobs some more*
Lindsey, I really was terrified of what I would read in this final chapter.....boy was I right to feel that way. Well, you pretty much broke my heart! I've never read anything so deeply sad! I just want to wish you luck with this, and tell you that you did a fabulous job, and I can't wait to see what happens in that alternate ending...*winks*

Author's Response: Aw, thanks, Kate. I knew that you would be sad while you read this, and I did kind of make it horrible, so yeah. *hugs again* I\'m so glad you helped me with this story all those times and kept on reading it for me! And I\'m working on the alt. ending now, actually, I\'ve just hit a block . . . I\'m going to wait, I think, until the end of the challenge and the results to add the ending though, because I\'m not as proud of it as I am the other chapters and want to wait to see what the results of the actual competition are before I add it. Thanks, Kate! ~Lindsey :)

The Depths of a Darkened Mind by Ron x Hermione

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Draco Malfoy is alone, wanted by Death Eaters, and yearning for sheer love. His cold eyes wander the Daily Prophet, smirking in an attempt to accept that fact he was a convicted Death Eater and wanted dead by both sides for betrayal. He seeks refuge in a chocolate frog instead of a bitter wheat cereal, his teeth savouring the sweet taste as he chewed, thinking only of dark things.

But upon staring at the prize that comes with the candy, a Wizard card, he finds himself whisked away to a dangerous place, the air filled to the brim with death, now feeling as if he will retch if he doesn’t escape. But he soon finds that he can’t. Running into giants, more cards, and a secret passageway that will ultimately determine his fate, Draco Malfoy will ultimately find his way home, whether it's the kind of home he wishes for, or one he must choose.

Remaining Sacred by Ron x Hermione

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: She awakes in the middle of the night screaming, screaming for something that even she herself knows she can’t stop. His image is burned into her body, her heart, her brain. Every time she opens her eyes she sees his perfect image hazily in her line of view, yet it is so flawed because she is the one seeing it. Her smile would form, then relax, then falter as she saw him coming near. He’d soon take her in his arms, pushing her against the wall, a fearful grimace approaching upon her face for the first time since meeting him because of his sudden violence . . . This constant frame spools on an infinite wheel inside her head as she sleeps, bathes, eats. It is all she can think of. This same movie plays within her brain for all of her days, all except when she is with him. While he is with her, his love (though he constantly is disproving it) never falters and the movie changes, distorts into what is happening then and now, and she is forced to relive it for a second, third, and fifteenth horrifying time, even when she is not with him and the ordeal is over. She only ends it at the last part, squeezing her eyes tightly shut and not daring to open them until the dawn comes. Whether or not sleep comes she does not know, but all the girl thinks of is him. It is all that is possible, all that is true.

“I’ll tell them. I’ll them everything you did when you were such a bad little girl."
