Hi! I am an australian bookaholic, with a love of fantasy/historical fiction and mythology.

My favorite authors are: J. K. Rowling, J. R. R. Tolkien, Phillip Pullman, Garth Nix, Isobelle Carmody, Jean M Auel and Tamora Pierce.

I also enjoy sailing, cooking, sewing and bike riding, but my favourite hobby is (of course) reading and writing fan fiction.

Love You Forever by casually_a_weasley

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: A story of the bonds between parent and child, heartfelt traditions, and the rememberence of those who are never truly gone.

The mother nodded her head solemnly, feeling both pain and adoration at the same time. Her job was done, her baby was no longer hers, he was a man unto himself. On her way up, she planted a soft kiss on her little boys forehead, and saw him nod in acknowledgement.

It's so sweet! I love that book, and you have represented it beautifully. Just one thing I want to clarify, is it Lily and Harry or the next generation?

A DESTINY FULFILLED by Wiccan

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Harry, Ron and Hermione survived the Final Battle with Voldemort and now work for the Ministry of Magic. Emotionally scarred, they are living their lives to the best of their abilities. Now, a new threat rears its ugly head. Lord Malfoy. This time they have a new friend to help in the battle between good and evil. Just like JKR, I start light and end up dark... lots of humor, intrigue and romance in between. This is a delightful romp through the Potterverse. Enjoy the ride! (Written Pre HBP)

I really like it! i don't think that Jessica is a Mary Sue at all. I like the way Hermione took Jessica shopping. I would not have thought it possible to make Hermione realistically like shopping but you did it.

Author's Response: Yeah, I just could not picture our Hermione holding up a robe and saying..."Isn't this cute?" LMAO

E Deus Unum by king

Rated:
Summary: There was once a goofy movie called Clue with a plot that was based on a board game. This movie had several possible endings that were all implausible but they were fun and entertaining. This little yarn is an alternative ending of the Harry Potter series and is offered in the same spirit of fun and entertainment. Of course with themes like love and death it’s not all laughs. This story begins in the summer before Harry’s sixth year. I began writing it months before reading HBP so you’ll have to accept that just about everything in my version of the HP universe is different from JKR’s HP universe. (Pretend HBP didn’t happen.) In my story Hermione has loved Harry since her third year at Hogwarts. She is terrified by the war. If she doesn’t grow up quickly, she might not grow up at all. Since Harry is over his infatuation with Cho Chang, Hermione makes her move and she pulls out all of the stops. Expect some extreme behavior from a girl who throws herself at a project and is under a lot of stress. She still cares deeply about S.P.E.W. OTHER POINTS - Having never heard of a Horcrux, I devised another source of Voldemort’s immortality. - I don’t like Professor Snape, but I’m not bold enough to make him a real Death Eater. - There is a war on and characters are killed, wounded and tortured, but not Dumbledore. - I’ve made Ron into a much more confident and serious character than the books. This is based on three ideas: war is like chess and Ron excels at that, contact with the brain in the DoM could make Ron more thoughtful, and hanging around with a manly man who works with dragons like Charlie Weasley could help any boy grow up.

It's a good plot so far, but Hermione seems a little too obvious. And why were Harry and Hermione the only ones not in robes?

Author's Response: Hi bookaholic, Harry and Hermione aren't wearing robes because they both grew up in Muggle homes. This is one of the things that makes them different from the Weasleys, Longbottoms and most of the Wizarding community. And it is one of the things that will draw them together. They have similar attitudes about things because of their backgrounds.

Tragedies by TTOOMMYY11

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Seventh year has begun and Hermione Granger has found herself in great danger. What is the secret behind Voldemort's sudden change in targets, and what dangers lie in store for the trio? Riddled with plot twists and cliffhangers--the Potter Universe is in for a surprise. (This story is Pre-HBP)
The Final Chapter of Tragedies is up!

Barbie Girl by CraftySlytherin

Patrick Thatcher and the Colonist's Compass by Dean Thomas

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Patrick Thatcher’s older brother teases him, his mother worries about him, and his father defends him. His family sounds very much like any other, but somehow Patrick’s is far from average. In Patrick’s world, adults disappear into thin air, owls deliver mail, and the most popular sport in the country is played on broomsticks. Not to mention that every member of his family is, and always has been, a wizard. When your grandfather is a famous American veteran, being a Thatcher isn’t the easiest life to live. When his acceptance letter to the most prestigious American school of magic arrives addressed to another student, Patrick’s position in his former world begins to take a tumble—right along with the newly elected President of Magic’s approval ratings. With the Wizarding world’s eyes shifting toward a new wizard, can Patrick figure out just why his first year is off to a rocky start? Inspired by J.K. Rowling’s wondrous Harry Potter Series, Patrick Thatcher’s adventures of wizardry in the United States is a tale all its own while still respecting its English origins. Readers are sure to find that the magic across the pond is just as unforgettable.

There are some interesting parallels. The 'Minister' (President) sounds like a pompous fool, Patrick meets two girls - like Harry (except the 'Hogwarts trio' is two boys and a girl not the other way round. Sarah also looks a lot like Hermione (or is that just my imagination), she also seems studious. One of the 'trio' is muggle-born, one a 'half-blood' and the other from an old family. To end my ramblings I think that your story has potential and is a lot like Harry Potter (only Americanised).

Author's Response: I'll respond without giving too much away. The President isn't exactly a fool I never gave that impression. Some people just don't like him. Sarah may not be apart of the "Wentwater" trio, necessarily, William will play a bigger part than Sarah will (for now anyway). Her hair isn't nearly as curly or frizzy as Hermione's. As far as her being studious, she was trying to prevent Patrick from noticing her and she's a muggle, she' brushing up on her history. But, really, thanks! I love reading reviews like this where I can respond to the reader's thoughts.

The Salem Witch Trials by FullofLife

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Harry, Ron and Hermione are spending a day in the small wizarding village of Hogsmeade when they happen to come upon a strange amulet lying in the snow. This amulet has amazing powers and transports the three friends to Salem, Massachusetts in the year 1692 when Muggles lived in fear of witches and wizards and the penalty for being able to perform magic was death.

I have really enjoyed reading this, and hope that I will continue to do so. The only thing that I think you could really improve on would be coincedence. I personally find that a story is much more interesting if you can see a meaning behind everything, I know that is waht suspense is for, but it just seems wierd sometimes; I mean its not like they are going to think "I know that Voldemort is trying to kill me, what better way than to set an amulet in my path that transports me back, wandless, to a time where the punishment for magic is death, lets go pick up this potentially dangerous object on an impluse." I mean, Harry and Ron can be thick sometimes but I thought they learnt that lesson back in 2nd year? I am not trying to insult you and I really enjoy your story, but I think that you could work on that.

Author's Response: I understand what you're saying and maybe this is the wrong time to tell everyone but... my story will not have Voldemort in it at all. Nope... and the Salem Witch Trials may be the theme of this story but it isn't what the pint of this story in. Let's just say there's a hidden lesson which will become more apparent as the story progresses. :)

The Source of Magic by GoG

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: COMPLETE At the start of his 7th year, a stranger from his mother’s past arrives to help Harry find the remaining Horcruxes – and teach him to attain the power the Dark Lord knows not. Harry learns surprising things about his mother.

The Ministry of Magic, increasingly under Voldemort’s thumb, attempts to infiltrate Hogwarts, but the feisty Headmistress McGonagall is equal to the challenge. The race against time to destroy the cunningly concealed Horcruxes takes the reader to dark realities where Voldemort reigns supreme.

A story to make you think … with a little mystery, romance, adventure, philosophy, and humour along the way.

This fic is complete and I'll be posting all twenty chapters as fast I can get them validated. It is canon-compliant up to Book 6, and does not follow on from my previous fic: The Ghost of Godric Gryffindor.

Well. You are something of an anarchist there. Don't think I didn't miss the reference to the President of a far distant country in Chapter 2 and the British PM's remarks in this last chapter. I approve.

I also appriecate the multiple references to Australia. (Are you from the area? I seem to recall that Rick was from New Zeland.) WE are so often ignored.

Great story, thanks for writing it and please do us the pleasure of allowing us to read another one soon.
