Welcome, everyone, to my author's page (or lack thereof, seeing as I'm not technically an author, seeing as I haven't submitted any fics yet, seeing as I just joined, seeing as...oh, never mind).
However, before I begin my bio, I should warn you that I am highly, highly insane. Therefore, read on with caution - I may be dangerous due to my tendency to ramble on and on nonsensically, my inability to function as a mature being, and my bizarre sense of humor. Read at your own risk.
And now, without further ado, onto my bio!
My name is Blair, and I'm a crazy fourteen-year-old girl from the states. I won't bother telling you that I love reading, writing, Harry Potter, the Internet, etc. - - although we're all not exactly alike (after all, some people are even more insane than me *coughH/Hrshipperscough*), we do have a few things in common. Namely, we all love readingwritingHarryPottertheInternet - you wouldn't be here if you didn't. Well, aside from the aforementioned, I enjoy staying up all night writing research papers (sugar helps), babbling incessantly to anyone who'll listen, arguing, and being sarcastic.
Yes, I do have a life outside of the Internet (yes, it's hard to believe, but true). I split my time between school (blech), homework (quadruple blech), rehearsing for overscheduled musicals (just recently finished one, actually), dance classes (agh, my poor calves!), spending time with my friends (a well-meaning, albeit misguided bunch), and mindless wastes of time.
Potterverse and the fandom...
While I may be only fourteen, and therefore on the lower end of the HP fandom's online age range, don't underestimate me. I love the 'verse just as much as all of you. Yes, I've read each of the books way, way (way, way) too many times (haven't we all?). Online HP/FF forums have been an awesome way to keep in touch with other fans over the past three (or so) years, when I first began my wild journey through the online fandom.
I discovered MNFF a few months ago, and have spent the last few months reading incessantly. However, I wasn't able to register due to the uber-time-consuming musical in which I recently participated. A couple days ago, I made a spur-of-the-moment decision to finally register on MNFF and the Beta Boards. Hooray, Blair! And what can I say? Of course, I love it. I was just recently sorted into Hufflepuff (yay 'Puffs), and am finding my way around the Forum just fine. Hopefully, you'll soon be reading some of my fanfics on here. In the meantime, I'll be reading and writing up a storm. Hopefully, I'll be beta-ing, too. [THIS IS AN ADVERTISEMENT: If you're in need of a super-dedicated, super-hardworking, super-enthusiastic, super-awesome, super-insane beta, look no further. *ecstatically waves hand in air* Always happy to help.]
My preferences in the Potterverse?
Genre
As for genre, I'd have to say it's not a big deal to me. I love General (any era, especially *sigh* Marauder), Romance, Humor, whatever. I'll admit I spend most of my time in the Marauder Era, Romance, and Humor sections, though. However, once again, I typically like all-era fics, not just MWPP.
Ships
My taste in certain ships varies way, way too much. In some ships I love canon, in others I hate it. I used to be a strictly-canon girl, but that's all changed.
However, I have to admit that I'm horribly prejudiced against Harmony shippers (yes, I already began my abuse of you delusional- sorry, you...ahem, free-thinkers previously. Don't hate me for it. I love you all dearly, stop by for tea one day, we can discuss a little thing I like to call reality...*sorry* *cringes*) I love you H/Hr folks as people but when it comes to ship, we don't quite see eye to eye.
My OTP: JAMES/LILY! I could go on and on. My favorite ship (J/L) combined with my favorite era (MWPP)...and I just go crazy (even more than I already am, believe it or not). Honestly, I've read just about every J/L fic on this site. (No, sadly, I'm not joking. Oh, how I wish I was. I wish. See what I mean about 'no life'? There's 456+ J/L fics, and I've definitely read the majority.) Fellow J/L fan[atic]s, PM/e-mail/contact me - I'd love to chat about the most perfect couple ever.
Okay, I'll stop gushing.
Anything else?
On a more serious note, I can, actually, be quite serious at times (Siriusly!) *cringe* *groan* *throws tomatoes* I know, I know. But if there's anything else you want to know about me, my boring life, my Potter preferences, or my undying love for J/L and Marauder fics, please feel free to contact me via PM (same username on the forum as on here), e-mail (blairyy@hotmail.com), or any other reasonable manner. Don't forget, I am a very available beta.
[New reader.] Lovelovelovelove it! Riddle's daughters + masked ball = amazing. :) Can't wait for Act/Chapter 5!
Ellie! First of all, this story is absolutely wonderful. Very nice cliffie at the end of this chapter. ;]
I think you're doing a splendid job with plot and dialogue...the story is very fast-paced; I just wanted to keep reading. [Your grammar/punctuation is good, too.] All around, it's a great story; you could have a bit more subtle characterization, perhaps? Altogether, however, it was very fun to read.
Can't wait for chapter 7! Talk to you soon.
Cheers!
[and green ketchup bottles, of course]
Blair
Author's Response: Blair!!! You\'re reviewing my story? *huggles*\r\nI\'ll definitely work on the characterization, thanks for bringing that to my attention. And thank you so much for all the wonderful comments - they made my day :D\r\nHope to talk to you VERY soon!\r\nCheers,\r\nEllie :D
J'ADORE. What can I say? It was a flawless masterpiece. Irony is my middle name, but I vant your sense of humor, dahling.
Author's Response: WOW, thanks so much! Irony is NOT my middle name, mine is Childish Silly Humour Totally Lacking In Subtlety, so I consider this a huge compliment. And I\'m seeking a name change in the near future, because mine\'s quite ponderous.
Hello!
This was remarkably well-written. I can honestly say that I thorougly enjoyed it. Hardly any grammatical/technical errors, excellent plot and characterization, etc. However, what strikes me most about this fic is the ship! This is the first Lucius/Andromeda I've ever read; they're such a wonderful pairing! Thank you for introducing me to this ship. It's quite original. :]
I think I shall go look for other Lucius/Andromeda fics now. ;] Once again, wonderful, amazing job. Keep up the great work!
-Blair
Author's Response: :D This has really become my favorite ship within the past months, and it\'s great to know that others enjoy it too! There aren\'t many fics with this pairing, unfortunately, but I\'m always looking, haha. Thank you so much for your kind review!
EMMA! Absolutely phenomenal job. :]
I can honestly say that I really enjoyed it. I love how you got the plot started out right from the beginning. Thank Godric that this wasn't one of those stories with interminable descriptions in the first chapter, it actually kept my attention quite nicely! I love the way Draco was portrayed, he's very nicely IC. Melanie could have used a bit more subtle characterization, but otherwise, it was splendid.
:] So excited for you!
Author's Response: YAY! You\'re my first review! Thanks sooo much Blair! And thanks for the tip about the subtle characterization of Mel...I\'ll def get that up in the second chapter. I\'m so glad you thought he was IC. I was sooo worried I would be rejected for OOCness because I made him like so nice to her and stuff but I got some help on the boards and they said it would be fine as long as like she came from a good family and stuff...but dont think that just because I have this fic going too that I will forget all about my poor lily/james fic...you be ready for that one soon!
Equally excited,
-Emma 12/10/07
Excellent start! I think this story could really go places. (:
I love fics that include letter exchanges between Lily and Evans; they're always so entertaining. The last letter was really cute. (:
Continue, definitely. I most certainly didn't hate it - in fact, it was really great! I can't wait to read more!
P.S.: I love the subtle change from 'Evans' to 'Lily' . . . it's when it changes from 'Potter' to 'James' that we've got to watch out . . . (;
Author's Response: I certainly hope that my story has the possibility to go places! Haha you noticed the change from Evans to Lily! I\'m glad you want to read more. Thank you for the review! (:
