The Harry Potters books were a huge part of my childhood, and I hope my stories do them justice.

This. Was. Brilliant. Brilliant!! I especially loved the line about butterbeer being sweeter at the bottom of the bottle. All the characterizations, emotions, and dialogue were perfect, and the flashbacks were seamless. I also loved your focus on Sirius and Remus - they're my favorite Marauders. This was amazing!!!

Author's Response: Thank you! Remus has always been my favorite, and it\'s always been easy for me to \'write\' Remus. I really had to \'get into\' Sirius\' head for this though, so I had to go back and analyze him. Now, like you, I find they\'re my two favorites. Thanks again for the great review!

The One Miracle by MagEd

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: “I’m willing to die for this war but I’m not willing to sacrifice my life for it! And maybe you don’t understand, but it’s not the same thing, James; it’s not the same thing!”

In the middle of the first war against Voldemort, James and Lily Potter's world is crumbling in around them. Will their marriage crumble as well? *one-shot*

This story was a lot more realistic than a lot I've read, because it was honest. Obviously Lily and James would have fought, even though they loved each other, and even though it's painful to read, it's also nice to know that even they were only human. I think your best line was "Lily was his religion, and there is nothing worse than losing faith." It was really beautifully thought out. I think I'll go a read some of your other stories now. Great job!

Author's Response: Thanks very much! As much as I love them (despite that they\'re fictional!) they were only human, and going through what they went through, you\'re right -- they were bound to fight. I\'m glad you liked it! :)

To Armageddon and Back by Astrid Skywalker

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: He could let the misery claim him, feed on him until he is nothing but carbon, a stain on Mother Earth forever. Isn’t that what he is now, anyway? A leftover stain from a once-happy time?

Remus-centric, post-OotP.

You made just the right mix of happy schooltimes and bitter memories. I could totally see Remus reacting the way he did to Sirius' death. I think my favorite part was Remus' memory of his birthday, or else the very last line about the star. This was a brilliant fic!

Author's Response: Thank you! I really enjoyed writing his birthday memory; the Marauders amuse me way too much, haha. I\'m glad you liked it. =)

Cruel Moon for the Misbegotten by L A Moody

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Remus Lupin is a man whose bête noir assumes very real proportions on the night of each full moon. It is a reality that he had accepted for most of his life; forced to reconcile to the limitations of his existence at an early age. Then out of the blue, Nymphadora Tonks waltzes into his life, throwing all his stoic principles into turmoil. But wizarding society’s prejudices against werewolves are so deeply ingrained that even specialized Healers have no choice but to admit that some of the most basic answers are just unavailable. As Remus undertakes a dangerous undercover mission that may help him to find answers among his own brothers, Tonks follows a convoluted trail that will uncover the true nature of hatred buried within the Ministry of Magic itself.

Follow this tale of despair and redemption as it weaves through the bustling boulevards of Rome to the carefree Bohemian sections of London to the austere bones of post-industrialized Britain to the majestic spires of Hogwarts castle. It is a story not presented as a romance, but rather as one man’s journey to hell and back as inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy.

Serves as a prequel to my other story, Harry Potter and the Hero’s Lament, but either story can be read independently of the other.

This story really impresses me so far. Your use of language is really sophistocated, and the dialogue is fast-paced and witty. I especially like your portrayal of Remus, Ginny, and (in the first 2 chapters) Sirius, all of whom resemble JK's characters and yet have become your own. Keep this up - I can't wait for more!

Author's Response: Thanks for the encouragement. I've been having lots of fun getting inside everyone's heads. Just wait until you get to the parts with Severus Snape!

Follow the Basilisk Home by indigo_mouse

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: Time is the magic that transforms the words and deeds of mortals to myth and fable. Who were the Hogwarts Four? Who were the people behind the legends? This is the story of the monk and maven, healer and hero who lived and dreamed and built a school in years long gone.

What a well-written, intriguing first chapter! I'll definitely be coming back to this story when more chapters are up.

Author's Response: Thank you Calico! It has been a lot of fun to write and to research.

Reluctant Love by cassie123

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: There were three things Lily Potter and Rose Weasley knew they had in common. They both shared their names with rather popular flowers, they had both inherited the Weasley red hair and freckles gene, and they both had fairly famous fathers.

But there was still one unfortunate similarity that Rose and Lily were ignorant to: they had both grown a strong interest in the enemy. And the fact that both Rose and Lily shared a common ‘enemy’ only increased the undesirability of the circumstance. Oh, and by ‘enemy’ they meant Scorpius Malfoy.

--

‘I don’t understand you, Malfoy.’
He smirked. ‘You don’t have to.’

I really like this story and I can't wait to see how it works out. But it's sad that either Lily or Rose will have to be disappointed. I wish it could somehow work out that they both had had happy endings.

Author's Response: Well, now I almost feel bad for ending the story the way I have. Scorpius' chapter will be up soon :) Thanks for R&R! ~ Cassie

This was powerful and sad, and so well written. I like the way you connected the weather with the war, and placed Lily in a park to connect her to her past. I also like how at the end you let the reader know that Lily missed Sev, but didn't even mention his name. Really great fic!

Author's Response: Thanks so much for reviewing! I'm glad you liked it. :)

At the Sign of The Crooked Tree by Lucie Lux

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary:
It is not an ordinary night.

"Going to kill me, Mr Black?"

Marlene McKinnon encounters Regulus in a dark alleyway, but what he really wants is Sirius.
Reviewer: Calico Signed

I liked the way this story happened in the present tense - it felt almost like watching a film instead of reading a story. Your depiction of Sirius and Regulus seemed really accurate too, just the right mix of brotherly feelings and enemy hostility. I haven't read your other stories yet, but I will.

Drool by mutualunderstanding

I love the "little Progslet"! I could definitely see Sirius giving Harry a long lecture about relationships just for the fun of it. This was a really cute, happy story to read, even though I know how it ends.

Author's Response: :] Thanks for the review!

Becoming My Father by Gonz

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary:

Sooner or later all sons follow in their father’s footsteps.

Percy Weasley has always been ambitious, so when the opportunity to become the next Minister of Magic presents itself, Percy believes that his dreams and hard work are finally coming to fruition. However, when Percy discovers that his youngest daughter is a Squib he finds his priorities changing.

Your writing is amazing, and your story so unique. I can't wait to read more about how Percy changes as a person. Also, I hope you keep putting quotes at the beginning of your chapters - it's always fun to find the connections to the story. I hope the next update is soon!

Author's Response: The quotes will continue. I confess I had quotes for the entire story figured out next to my chapter plan, before I had the first chapter finished; it was too much fun finding them all. Thanks for your kind review.

The Missing Chapter by suswoman

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: I always felt there was a chapter missing from Deathly Hallows between the final chapter and the Epilogue. I needed a chance to wind down from all of the action, mourn the dead, and tie up some loose ends before being thrown 19 years into the future. This is my version of that missing chapter. Hope you enjoy it!
Reviewer: Calico Signed
Date: 10/23/08 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1

I love that you thought to do this - just one more chapter so tie up some of the loose ends (although not all of them - it still leaves plenty open in terms of relationships and mourning the dead, which is perfect). Like someone else already said, this was what I needed to read, I just didn't know it. Thank you!

Author's Response: Thanks so much for your comments. It bugged me for a year before I decided I was never going to get any closure until I just sat down and wrote it myself. I'm thrilled to hear that the chapter gave you some extra closure, too.

Three Orphans by spiderwort

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: In her remaining years at Hogwarts, Minerva will have many adventures, some of which will mold her into the doughty, loyal witch we all know and revere. She will meet many characters already familiar to us: Barty Crouch, senior, Horace Slughorn, Poppy Pomfrey, Hagrid, Pomona Sprout, and... Tom Riddle.

This chapter was so fun...Gig getting ready and not being able to find her dress reminds me a little of what happened to me at my prom a few days ago...I just really wish we could have seen Minerva at the party too. Update again soon!

Author's Response: Yes, it's taken from a memory of my own anguished teens. Gig is fashioned on a real childhood friend of mine.

I'm so glad that Childhood's End isn't going to be the last we hear of Minerva's youth. I was a little surprised that the first chapter didn't have Minerva in it, but I enjoyed it anyway - it really set the scene. And the dialogue between Dumbledore and Slughorn was so sophistocated, the way they might really talk, not 'dumbed down,' which is great. Now I can't wait for the next chapter! Please update soon!

Author's Response: Will do, Calico. I was inspired to try scenes from alternate points of view by George RR Martin's fantasy series, "A Song of Ice and Fire." I thought JKR's characters deserved no less. And thanks for the compliment. I'll be interested to hear your opinion of my other attempts at capturing other personalities of the Potterverse. Just by way of warning, I shall use this device throughout Minerva's second year, but the rest will be back in our heroine's POV.

An Soilsiu by India Inverse

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Featuring Malfoy at his nastiest, a Ravenclaw who might not be entirely human, general rudeness, pranks and unladylike hand gestures, many heated discussions, snarking and snarling, a detention or two, Peeves the Poltergiest making some uncomfortable observations, and numerous plans that keep going completely awry. Cliques make no apologies and gleefully run rampant, and Draco learns that he might not be able to change who he is, but maybe he can learn to make his own choices for once.

Wow, those first two chapters were great, especially the ending of the 2nd. Please keep updating! Are we going to find out more about what exactly Aine is, a white demon or whatever? It sounds really interesting, but I'm still confused about what Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny were saying about "all those babies". I hope you're going to explain more in future chapters.

Author's Response: Oh, thank you so much for the review! This is my first fan fiction, so I am pleased (and a little surprised, considering the theme) that it has been positively received so far. I look forward to getting more chapters out! Yes, you will find out more about Aine and her history in later chapters, and it will answer any questions that may have arisen in these introduction chapters. There will also be plenty of delightful tension and rude repartee, so it should be a lot of fun! Thanks for reading! I suppose I should get on that update!

I really enjoyed reading this chapter; I just wish it could have gone on long enough for me to find out what happens next between Ted and Andromeda. I can't wait to see what you do with this story - I mean, we know the ending, but everything between now and then is all up to you! Keep writing, please!

Author's Response: Thanks so much for the review! Sorry for the cliffhanger, I'll try and finish the next chapter as soon as I can. I've been struggling to write this particular chapter and only have 900 words at the moment. (Chapter 3 and 4 have 1,100 each and they are nowhere near finished). But for now I'll put up a little expert of chapter two on my authors page. Thanks again for the review (I actually went and wrote 200 words when I got this, they prompt me into doing stuff)

NOT An Essay On The Life And Achievements Of Harry Potter by Goodbye_Earl

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary:

Lily Luna Potter is given History of Magic homework to write about the life and achievements of one Harry Potter, and (being the abnormal weirdo that she is) she decides to write it in verse. Sadly, Lily is labouring under the delusion that she is a talented poet, even though her rhyming is almost as good as her mother’s (as exhibited in CoS)…

Well this is what she wrote! Professor Binns won’t know what’s hit him...

A millon billion trillion Thank Yous to lunirina, who saved this from the horrific state it was in!

What an undertaking this must have been! It was funny and lighthearted in spite of all the horrible stuff in Harry's life, and Lily's unique voice is really clear even though hardly any of it is about her. Amazing job!

Author's Response: Glad you liked it, although it didn't take me very long to write. I just sat down one afternoon and it all came out... the editing took a lot longer, though =]
