Rage Against the Dying of the Light by forsakenphoenix

Rated: Professors •
Summary: When Voldemort began his rise to power, and the Blacks clutched to his beliefs as though they were a promise made of silver, Sirius seemed to be the only one who knew that silver could be tarnished.

Applause! Very nicely written, especially the last section. Amazing lines: "...Remus was holding dawn in the palm of his hand...[and Sirius said] 'You're letting dawn slip through your fingers...'"
Again, very good!

Destruction Where You Stand by auberus

Rated: Professors •
Summary:
31 October 1981. Instead of going to Azkaban, Sirius Black goes on the run, determined to catch the traitorous Peter Pettigrew even as post-war violence tears through the wizarding world. Meanwhile, Remus Lupin and a handful of others work desparately to clear Sirius' name, and to find him.

After all, they are not the only ones seeking Sirius Black. The Ministry of Magic has set the Dementors on his trail, and they have been given permission to administer the Kiss the instant he is caught. The remnants of the Death Eaters are pursuing him as well, in hopes that he will lead them to Pettigrew, whom they blame for Voldemort's defeat. (SB/RL slash)

This is such an incredible and breathtaking story. I am in awe of the details and intensity and characters. I wish I could say, "Oh, this was good" or "I really liked this part"--but, frankly, it's all so brilliantly arranged and orchestrated that I can't possibly pick and choose. Once again--Incredible!

Moments by Ravencorgi

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: "We do not remember days; we remember moments."

~Cesare Pavese

What follows is a collection of little memories that make up life: moments, both significant and obscure. A series of vignettes more than anything, that, put together, may paint a picture of the lives of our favorite Marauders. Rating because of language.

Actually laughed out loud at this chapter! Very funny--great back-and-forth between the boys!

Author's Response: Thanks!

A Little More Time by Pallas

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: Was it possible to save two lives in the past without altering history? Was it possible to give his parents a future twenty years after they had supposedly died? Teddy Lupin thought so...

I'll bawl like a baby at a good movie, but it's difficult to make me cry with the written word. The last book I shed tears over was DH (stupid page 661). I've read THIS story over three times, from beginning to end, and this chapter has made me tear up every time. It is so emotionally powerful. Amazing job!

I don't know what to say that hasn't already been said by the other reviewers. I do think it all can be summed up by FaunaCaritas who said "You. Are. Bloody. Brilliant." 'Tis true. Your story hooked me and haunts me! I hate that Remus and Tonks died in DH, and I love--LOVE--how you were able to bring them back so perfectly. Amazing. Fabulous!

Dark Side of the Moon by Lioness06

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary:

In fifth year, Sirius along with James and Peter managed the difficult Animagus transformation. In fifth year, Sirius played the ‘werewolf prank’ on Snape. One was an act of loyalty, brotherhood, and friendship; the other an act of betrayal, vengeance, and recklessness. This story spanning the Marauders' fifth year will deal with both these incidents, as well as Sirius’s increasing rejection of everything having to do with ‘The Noble and Most Ancient House of Black”.

Loved the suspense of Peter's Animagus transformation! Very good!

Author's Response: Thanks! The suspense was fun to write.

Werewolf Among Wizards by shewolf2000

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Glimpses into Remus Lupin's life at Hogwarts, all trying to answer the question: Is Remus a normal wizard who just has a “furry little problem”, or is he a werewolf among wizards, trying to fit in where he may never truly belong?

Now with more Snape down the Whomping Willow! Check out Chapter 10: A Highly Amusing Joke and Chapter 11: Skyfall

This is a great chapter! I like the doubt and the fear the James was feeling. It seems only natural that at some point or another, they'd have to have that moment when what they know about Remus and what werewolves really were on the night of the full moon would collide, and you've done a beautiful job of 'handling' James' POV. But gosh, poor Remus! Can't wait to see what James does now!

Author's Response: I\'m not going to give away what James does, but rest assured, it will be very...well...James. At least the way I see him. I\'m glad you enjoyed the chapter! Thanks so much for the review!

I am enjoying this story very much! I love the flow of it, and your dialogue is very smooth and very much in character--or at least in character for how I've always perceived the Marauders. I'm looking forward to the next chapter!
(Is the chapter feeling a little less neglected now?)

Author's Response: The chapter is feeling much less neglected now, thank you. I\'m so glad you\'re enjoying my story! I hope the next chapter lives up to your expectations (it\'s my personal favorite so far). Thanks for reviewing!

I read the four chapters that you have posted, and have to tell you--I LOVE this chapter! You've done a wonderful job with all the different characters and the House stereotyping. I love Remus and Sirius as the envoys--honestly, the way you wrote them is just PERFECT.
Most excellent!

Author's Response: Writing for Remus and Sirius is so much fun (but of course you already know that!) and I had a great time playing up each of the different Houses too. I\'m so happy you love it! Thanks again for reviewing!

'Give-Thanksing' *giggles*
Once again, the characters are wonderful, and I so enjoy the way you write this. And 'Dark Muggles' and 'Dark Muggle catchers'... and the bit about the clock that Arthur had given him...
Great chapter! Love it!

Author's Response: thank you so much for reading and reviewing! I enjoyed those too - trying to figure out how our world looks to Moody... and how he is connected to the other people in the books in more ways than we at first realize. I'm glad you liked it!

I'm a bit of a soft touch for Alastor Moody. I've always thought that there was a heart of gold beneath his gruff and grizzled exterior. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that!
Just found your story today and have enjoyed the first four chapters immensely. Well done, well thought out--and great characters! Can't wait for the next chapter!

Author's Response: Thank you for your review! I'm glad you are enjoying my characters - this is actually the Prequel to Muggling Along, and in another chapter or two this will be done and that story will be extended, so there is more Moody-ness to come! The next chapter is written and Brit-picked. I just need my beta to tell me I have too many commas... :-)

Harry Potter and the Hero's Lament by L A Moody

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: With McGonagall firmly entrenched as Hogwarts’ new headmistress, Harry is enticed to return for his seventh year under unique conditions. Aided by Ron and Hermione, he embarks upon a Horcrux search-and-destroy mission using the school as the base of operations. Recognizing that saving the wizarding world from the ultimate evil is a rather daunting task for a seventeen-year old wizard, the Order of the Phoenix steps in to assist Harry on his journey. It soon becomes clear, however, that not everyone has the same lesson plan in mind for our hero. As the headmistress attempts to lay a clever trap to reveal hidden agendas, Voldemort waits in ambush at the one site that Harry is sure to visit.

But before Harry can face his nemesis, he must face down the inner demons that plague his own life and truly grow into adulthood. His activities are punctuated with school pranks, Quidditch, parties, and the requisite amount of rule-breaking that readers have come to expect from the trio.

Very interesting! Can't wait to read the next chapter!

Author's Response: Glad to hear you\'re captivated. Next chapter goes off on a slightly different tangent, but we will return to the issue of Grimmauld Place in due time, I promise.

Hogwarts Chronicles: the Philosopher's Stone by Faile, BrennaShade

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •

If he had the chance to grow up with his father in a wizarding community, knowing what he represented and with people to turn to who are older than he is? Harry turns eleven years old and gets a letter from Hogwarts he fully expected to receive.

The first chapter has been significantly edited, with the help of a new beta.

I love this story! You've done a great job of combining canon and A/U into something believable and sweet. I love the relationship between James and Harry. Well done!

Maybe Happiness? by anath

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: After that fateful Halloween, Remus Lupin is left to deal with the shattered pieces of his life - a life without his friends in it. He doesn't expect that he would have to deal with Caine Black, too... and neither does he expect to have to deal with a young, attractive woman, who has obviously decided that he is meant for her. A sequel to The Final Choice. Slightly AU.

Gosh, this was a heartbreaking chapter! Just rip my heart out and stomp on it, why don't you? ;)
Another great job! I noticed a couple of grammar/spelling errors, but the story is great!

Author's Response: You\'ll need your heart for the next chapter! Thanks for reviewing. I must admit that English is not my first language, so yes, there are a few grammar/spelling errors, including - I\'ll bet on this - at least three that you have missed.

Happy birthday--and good job on this chapter! You have a smooth style of writing that I like very much, and it lends itself very well to the dialogue.
Can't wait for the next chapter!

Lost Intentions by Faile

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs were all great friends during their time at Hogwarts, but not too long after they left, the friends were shattered apart one fateful night. One dead, one imprisoned, one fled, and one left alone. Two of these stories remain untold, and one can never be. But what of the last? What drove him to tear apart the friends he had spent so long with and instead turn to the one who would ruin them all?

I am enjoying your story very much. It's very well-written, and you're doing a fabulous job of getting into Pettigrew's head. Can't wait to see what happens next! (There is more, right?)

Author's Response: Well, thank you! I\'m really trying to justify his later actions that we see in the books. Yes, there will definitely be more--this story will trace all the way to his death before it\'s finished.

Pot of Silver by eaglette with wheels

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •

Poor lonely box.
Good beginning to your story! Can't wait to see where it goes from here!

Is the box happier, now? How about the author?

Author's Response: The box is happy. So, for that matter, is the author. I\'m very excited- this is my first fic, and it kept being rejected because I couldn\'t figure out how to italicize. Thanks for reviewing! Come back soon!
