My Troubled Tyrant by Belledeg

Rated: Professors • Past Featured Story
Summary: Keedie Dante has experienced many amazing things during her time at Hogwarts, including the hushed up drama that was the Chamber of Secrets. However, with two overachieving friends and a headmaster who does not even know she exists, Keedie feels that perhaps her seventh year will not be too spectacular. However, Dumbeldore sees her potential as a writer and enrols her in a simple writing course. Here, she meets the mysterious and terrifying Tom Riddle and they instantly get under one another's skin. She is drawn to his dark determination towards some unknown goal and he is fascinated by her, in every way. However, Tom's friends do not approve of Keedie and her unconventional ways and Keedie has many people trying to keep her away from the dark young man as well. Something inside tells Keedie that she can make him better, but even he assures her that this is an impossible task. But she's not one to give up easily...

"He is a dark one, Keedie. Try not to let him consume you entirely."

This story has the characters Albus Dumbledore, Armando Dippet, Moaning Myrtle, Rubeus Hagrid, Aaron Dante, Harry Potter, Ebony Abbott, Minerva McGonagall, Melena Creevey, Ollivander, Gregor Holmwood, Horace Slughorn and, of course, Tom Riddle and Keedie Dante...enjoy!

The Affectionate Bet by mutualunderstanding

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Harry and Ginny had a good reason for not showing any sign of their love when they dropped off their boys at the Hogwarts Express. They had just wanted to win their daughter a little money. After all, she was the only one who believed that they'd be able to keep their hands off of each other for two days. And what a fiasco that was.

Wow! That was one of the best Harry/Ginny fics I've ever read!It was so funny and I think the personalities of James, Lily and Albus were perfect. Also, the ending was great, sometimes I find it hard to put a good ending on a story but this one was just brilliant!
Great job!

OMG that was so sad! Tear tugger is right! I sort of know how Neville feels there as my Grandmother has alsimers (Not sure how you spell it). It's so sad to see it from her point of view...
Great job though, it was written very well!

Author's Response: Oh wow; thanks so much! I'm glad I got the point of the story across, and I'm sorry about your grandmother :( Thanks again for the review and your nice comments!

Stage by DeadManSeven

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: The package arrived on a Thursday. Luna was able to tell instantly as it soared over the tables at breakfast, borne by some anonymous owl, that it was for her. It was the way her father wrapped packages.

She set aside her breakfast to clear a space for the owl, and waited patiently for it to land. Breakfast could wait a little. It happened every day, after all.

Reviewer: Essence of Potter Signed
Date: 07/01/09 Title: Chapter 1: Stage

This was a really good story! I think what the glasses showed was what might have happened if things didnt go the way they did...am I right?

Author's Response: In a sense, that is what they do. There's a symbolic component to the goggles, though - how they offer impossible visions in an unchangeable world, and how those visions are ultimately meaningless but can be fun - so perhaps they do a little more, too.

Not your last chaptered fic! That's awful! This is probably been my favourite fic on MNFF and I think your wrighting is amazing. I've been reading this story from pretty much the stared and I'm terrible sorry I haven't reviewed in a while. My favourite parts, James and Lily's fight, not because it was a good thing but because it nearly had me crying. Grace was and amazing character, so complex and believable. The things people do for the ones they love.... I loved how you wrote James' birthday and I laughed so hard at the thing with all the food, it's the little things like that that make a character more real and show us the extent for Lily's love of him. All in all an amazing story though SIRIUSLY (pardon the pun I couldn't resist) sad at part. I hope you keep wrighting :) And I shall most definately keep reading!

Author's Response: Knowing myself, I probably won't be able to stop myself from starting another Lily/James epic, but if such is the case, I want to have written several chapters before I start posting, which means it would be a while before anything was up on mugglenet. I'm glad you enjoyed this so much! I always think that the little things are what endear us to characters in fiction, so I'm glad you appreciated that in this! Thanks for the lovely review :)

“Don’t give me that, James. You know that we are going to die soon. There is no point in pretending that we aren’t.”

Hello! I've been meaning to read this for ages but just haven't gotten the chance! The summary is really good. Any way, I'm really enjoying this story so far, but, the only thing I don't like is that it's moving really slowly. I know you're probably busy with RL and stuff but I think it would really help move the story on quicker if the chapters were a bit longer. Otherwise I can't wait to read more!

What Better Way by MagEd

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: I hadn't seen him since I was eleven, but he had a rather distinct look about him. It was hard, after all, to forget that black hair that stuck up in the back and the bright green eyes behind those glasses. And the scar — I had always thought it neat to have a scar shaped like a lightening bolt.

Jane Martin sees the odd, quiet boy she went to primary school with years ago in a jewellery shop and she's shocked to see how much things have changed for the boy with taped glasses and baggy clothes. *one-shot*

Grr. i just typed out a nice review and then it deleted itself some how...Anyway! I really liked this story!i feel sort of mean but Im sort of glad Rose broke it off, not because I don't like this ship but because I feel what Scorpius was doing to her was horrible. He'd been leading her on for years and she stayed with him for one reason. love. It was a nice length and you got the characters to a tee. You can see that Scorpius is both like Draco because he doesn't wasnt to disappoint his family but also very different in that he gave Rase a chance even though she was a Weasly. All in all I really enjoyed reading this. It flowed and really worked!
Fi X

Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed the flow and characterization. I do find the reaction that Rose is the victim rather interesting. She is the "other woman" with whom Scorpius carried out an affair with and eventually left his wife for. Isn't she a victim of Rose as well as Scorpius? What about Rose's husband? She cheated on him. When she talks about the life she built (husband, house, kids) she says she'd been willing to leave it all for Scorpius. It sounds like she cared more about her lover than her kids. Okay, it may sound like I'm criticizing you, but I've heard this reaction from others, too. Even I feel the way you and many others do to a certain extent. Well, there's some food for thought. Thanks for the review!

Date: 11/22/09 Title: Chapter 1: A Piece of the Past

Wow that was really good! I was curious when I started reading, I wasn't sure if it would work, the whole one person conversation. But it really did. You did such a good job at dropping little hints about what Elladoras' real mission was without being obvious. Also, the coversation worked really well, I could tell what Isla was probably saying without you having to tell us through Elladora whitch was great because I think if i were writing this I'd be terrible because I wouldn't be able to do it without making the conversation unrealistic. Overall I think you did really well! Oh, and I hope you do well in the competition!
Fi X

Author's Response: I'm glad you thought the story waas good! The format was a little tricky at first, but I think I got the hang of it. It's difficult to tell a story solely from one limited viewpoint, but that's the challenge! Thanks for Reading and Reviewing!
