The Unseemly Proposal by sparx

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: The reign of Voldermort comes to an end, and with it ends the prestige and power Lucius Malfoy once had in the Wizarding World. In order to regain the respect of his fellow wizards and to make them believe that he has turned over a new leaf (which he actually hasn't) and has graciously accepted muggles and Mudbloods, Lucius asks Hermione, a Mudblood, to marry his son, Draco, a pure-blood. Obviously, they both refuse, but Lucius isn't going to give up easily. After all, he wants his status back. He still has a few tricks up his sleeve and is determined to play match-maker. What happens next is a series of events that serve only to bring Hermione and Draco closer, both literally and figuratively speaking. Read to find out how this one unseemly proposal causes absolute chaos in their lives! THIS STORY IS NOT HBP and DH COMPATIBLE! Hey all! Check out my personal info for the expected date of the next update. =)

Will she manage hold up when she finds herself struggling to withhold her sharp tongue, returning hatred, and...something else?

ahhh i wish there was a happy ending, but brilliant story nonetheless. it's too bad hermione never shared those stuff with draco; she might have had less regrets then. still, good story. you're making me love draco (after reading this and ATW) although i used to hate his guts. that truly counts for something ;)

great job and i hope to read a happy dramione fic from you soon! =D

Beautiful Disaster by ice witch

Rated:
Summary: Hermione watches over Draco as he sleeps. His is a tortured soul and although she desperately wants to save him from his pain, she knows that only he can free himself. Based on the song "Beautiful Disaster" by Kelly Clarkson.

Date: 05/21/10 Title: Chapter 1: Beautiful Disaster

deep. very deep. i like =) i was singing the song while reading this fanfiction, and i feel it fits nicely. i particularly like that last part where hermione muses to herself- the part where she says she will laugh at herself for having feelings for the one she is supposed to hate. that was sheer awesomeness.

though, how did Hermione ever get a chance to see Draco sleeping, or gasp! - bathing?

A Thousand Words by annie

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: For the rest of the Ministry, the interdepartmental challenge was merely a failed attempt to restore trust between workers. But for Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger, it was the catalyst for an unexpected relationship built on passionate letters, concealed identities, and secret meetings – and the beginning of an end that neither of them could ever have imagined possible, not even in their wildest dreams.

Post-war. Based somewhat on the story of the Phantom of the Opera. Also contains R/Hr, so don't read if you can't stomach that ship.

Status: Complete. Thanks for reading, everyone!

I would actually love to see Draco and Hermione end up together (and Ron agreeing somehow to it) but I think this ending fits better than the other ending. The anguish was well, anguish, and was written superbly. It was really unfortunate that Draco snapped though =( If he had more control; if he didn't snap, I think Hermione would've chosen him instead. The ending is sad; I wonder if Greyback killed Ron and Hermione. I sure hope it wasn't Draco's work when he lost his consciousness >.<

Awesome story nonetheless. A very good read. You've totally diverted me from my studies =p *thumbs up*

Letting Go by scarletti

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Draco and Hermione share a moment of understanding in their 5th year at Hogwarts. Two years later, Draco needs to tell Hermione a secret that only she will understand. This is a one-shot deal. :) Please read and review!

Date: 05/16/10 Title: Chapter 1: Letting Go

i like your story =) you made it pretty realistic, although Hermione and Draco are a little OOC. if Draco was a little more demanding, and Hermione more reluctant with the kiss, it would've been totally in character i think. it's not very in hermione's character (the goody goody) to kiss another guy so willingly when she has a boyfriend: she's pretty darn moral. neither did i think she would suggest ron dying (it almost sounded like she suggested that draco killed him 0.o !!!) besides this two little things, it's perfect. i like this so much. awesome story for dramione. like like like like. write more, okay! =D

Author's Response: Thank you for the lengthy review! It's appreciated on my part. I do agree, H/DR is OOC, but i got intrigued when i wrote it, because an image popped in my head and i had to write it down. I'm not a huge fan of H/Dr, to be honest, but like i said, I got an image in my head and the rest is history. It's been a while since i wrote that story, so i might have changed it up now. It's a smaller story line, and i like it. Anyway... Thanks so much! I have tons of unfinished stories, and one day i'll post them all. :) Cheers! :)

They Died for Love by AnnaDeBoullans

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy have been together for years: as classmates, as enemies, and, finally, as lovers. But when they are betrayed for a petty grudge, they find themselves in the presence of Lord Voldemort when all they have is a ring, a song, and each other.

"They Died for Love" has WON second place at the Dramione Awards in the Tearjerker category!!! Thank you so much to all who voted for me and for the nomination! Much love~~ Anna de Boullans

awesome story. it felt a little off when hermione referred to herself as a "mudblood", but i totally love how you justify that with draco saying that "there's no mudblood". awesomeness to the highest degree. it would be more effective to the story - to elucidate on how willingly draco (a pureblood maniac) turned to the good side - if you made lucius die in the hands of voldemort (voldemort is a heartless dude who kills his own followers after all =.=") but beyond that, excellent story. write more! =D

Date: 07/25/10 Title: Chapter 18: Epilogue - Hogwart's

Yes! I guessed Ravenclaw correctly! =D Alex did, after all, inherited a double dose of intelligence? ^^

Good story! I like it very much, although Draco changed a little too fast for it to be 100% realistic. Nonetheless, I always do love happy endings =)

Date: 02/22/11 Title: Chapter 77: Chapter Seventy-Six: Lottie’s Last Stand

i did not expect voldie's manner of death - who would've thought that his tiny bit of remorse would torture and kill him more efficiently than avada kedavra? awesome.

it makes me sad how unfeeling lottie has become though. i know colm has done great harm, but he was sobbing over lottie's death moments before she kills him. i know that lottie can't do her job properly if she feels too much, but it seems sad anyway.

a bittersweet chapter, but i'll admit that this ending is very fitting. good job~!

Author's Response: I agree--it really is tragic what Lottie has become in order to get this job done. At this point, she's almost as unfeeling as Voldemort was.

Thanks for the review!

you're an awesome writer. with this, i have officially finished reading all the stories you've written (so far) and i hope to read more! =D

and btw, i totally love how Hermione disproved Pansy's ideas. *thumbs up*

Masked Ferret Unmasked by Eilime

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: One-shot fanfiction

A Masquerade Ball has been arranged in the Golden Trio’s seventh year at Hogwarts and everyone is bursting with excitement. That is, everyone except Draco Malfoy who definitely does not expect to find the love of his life with whom he’s supposed to spend the rest of his measly life at this uninventive and unoriginal ball.

An epic romance. Will love conquer all? Is it true that opposites attract? And who are these opposites doomed to be? Why does Draco feel the need to clench and unclench it buttocks repeatedly? Is he ill? Or is he just wishing for this fanfiction to end? Read and find out …in this prodigious, celestial, sumptuous, epic romance in which love will prove... Oh, God, I can’t even write this heinous summary. Just read the *loud beeping sound* fic.

Need I warn you that this story is OOC?

Oh, all right, fine: Warning: OOCness

absolutely awesome. i definitely did not expect the part where kingsley confesses to be the turnip thrower! what was he doing in a concert with a turnip anyway? *laughs*

stubby reminds me a bit of lockhart actually. and i enjoy kingsley's character to the end. two thumbs up! =D

Thank you for the story! It's awesome! I nearly cried reading the part when Alduin and Myrtle found peace, and I really love the parts where you brought in Muggle stuff and Hermione's SPEW! I only regret Hermione did not pop up in the end to tell Teddy what a wonderful job he did with a new SPEW chapter in Hogwarts ;)

I await your sequel! ^^

An Hour-Long Existence by Misdemeanor1331

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •

very good. i can totally image crabbe doing that, and his confusion as to why harry was not in the rafters as well was priceless. awesome writing! =D

The Only Thing by moonymaniac

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Lily Potter’s love and sacrifice for her son is legend. But there was another member of the Potter family. James Potter was more than an arrogant toerag who finally grew up, more than a Marauder, more than a member of the Order of the Phoenix. He was a father.

How on earth would a man like James Potter handle that responsibility, at the tender age of twenty, especially at a time when his world was crumbling all around him?
Reviewer: littlewolf Signed
Date: 05/18/11 Title: Chapter 1: The Only Thing

"When had he fallen so hopelessly in love with this tufty-haired little boy? "

that is the best line in this fic. i find your portrayal of james realistic, and his love for harry simply awwwww-inducing. like others, i thought that it would end with voldemort blasting open the door (actually i was anticipating it since halfway through the story lol). but i like your ending so much better.

Author's Response: Oh, thank you littlewolf! And yayyy...that is my favorite part of the story, too. :*) I'm glad you like my ending. It was meant to be a very bittersweet story, and having Voldemort show up would have been too horrible, ruining the sweetness. Knowing he was going to made it sad enough, for me anyway. :'( I just wanted to leave it with the love, not the actual loss. *sniffle* Thank you for reading and reviewing. :)

Alexandra Quick and the Thorn Circle by Inverarity

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • Past Featured Story
Summary:

Winner of the 2008 Quick Silver Quills Award for Best General Story.

The first book in the Alexandra Quick series.

The war against Voldemort never reached America, but all is not well there. When 11-year-old Alexandra Quick learns she is a witch, she is plunged into a world of prejudices, intrigue, and danger. Who wants Alexandra dead, and why?

This story is canon-compliant with the Harry Potter universe, but the characters and settings are all original. I've put a lot of work into envisioning a world as detailed as the original series; I hope you enjoy it.

darn, these Charmbridge people sound like modern day teachers so much! "Focus on things that will be tested on SPAWN."

and I really really like Hogwarts much more than Charmbridge. the people are so full of prejudices. and so intent on getting everyone to conform to their culture! but that's almost how it works in USA, so it fits the location so well.

i like your writing nonetheless =)
