7-12-2010: I decided to revisit MNFF to read some quality fanfics, and realized that this site helped a lot in my own writing, both fanfic and personal. I am currently debating as to whether or not I should start posting some of my newer stuff here, and I'm thinking I just might, at least some of my one-shots. If you are interested, please go to my blog (which is rated somewhat mature, only because my fics that are discussed are rated mature) and let me know. I'd love your input, and I've certainly grown as a writer.

Author's Response: The next chapter is done, but Amanda and I aren\'t sure if the mods will like it yet. Therefore, we\'re going to combine two chapters to make them happy...needless to say, the second chapter isn\'t written yet. (I\'m in volleyball camp until Friday, so don\'t expect anything too soon.) But yes, there is more and it\'ll lighten up (it gets a little angsty through here, so if you don\'t like the angst...hang in there!). There is quite a bit more, actually.
But thanks so much for the compliments. =) It\'s funny, I was telling Amanda the other day that I nearly axed the story because I didn\'t like it. Good thing I didn\'t, huh? XD -Laura

She feels responsible for the death of her parents, and isolates herself from every one around her in the hopes of protecting them from the same fate. But some people refuse to brushed off. Lily would be lying if she said she had forgotten about James Potter, and she can't deny her feelings for him, but for that very reason, she has to.
Story re-added May 20. Please review! Next chapter will be up soon. Rated AU because, apparently, Lily and James got married right after Hogwarts. Enjoy!

I'm reviewing each chapter up to this point in this review:
Chapter 1: The cat symbolism was great! I loved it. My one critique was that the train flashback should be in italics.
Chapter 2: I loved that you had James trip!! I felt no reason for your apology for it, as it was a very clever ending!! =)
Chapter 3: "Back in business" line made me smile--it was really cute. I hope that Lily figuring out that Voldemort wants to kill boys is important to the rest of your story and I hope that you intended it to be related to the prophecy. If you did, than it was very well thought out. =) Also, great way to end the chapter!!
All in all, great story so far. Your chapter endings are strong and you leave readers with things to think about. +10/10! Please update soon!! =)

I have been a bad reader. I've had this story on my favourites list since I read the prologue, but I hadn't read any of it since! And the other day I was looking around for a story to read on my favourites and I saw it. So now I've read the whole thing up to this point... And I love it! This is amazing. And it's so un-cliche, which is hard to do with Lily and James.
I do, however, have to say one thing: are you a published writer? Because if you're not, you should seriously think about submitting something to a publisher. You have an amazing gift for writing... =)
So, back to the story, any chance of a quick update? You sort of left us a cliffhanger there... =)
